‘Saturday Night Live’ has created some of the biggest comedy stars of our generation, but here are some celebrities that you probably don’t remember from the hit sketch show. ‘Iron Man’ star Robert Downey Jr., actually got his start on ‘Saturday Night Live’. His friend and fellow actor Anthony Michael Hall managed to score him an audition for the show in 1985. Downey’s audition was successful, and he joined the cast for the eleventh season, which unfortunately struggled with poor ratings and negative reviews. In a 2020 appearance on ‘The Tonight Show,’ Downey jokingly referred to his season of the show as “arguably the worst season in its history”. Bob Odenkirk also got his start on ‘Saturday Night Live’. Odenkirk worked as a writer on the show from 1987 to 1991 before finding fame on ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul.’ His work on SNL even earned him his first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Show in 1989. Although Odenkirk enjoyed his time on the show, he revealed on the ‘Don’t Ask Tig’ podcast that he was “unsure” of himself and felt “too young” when he got the role.
