Gun violence can affect anyone, even the rich and famous. Some stars have actually faced life-threatening incidents due to gun violence but thankfully survived. Rapper Offset was recently shot in Florida, near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, according to TMZ. A spokesperson for Offset, real name Kiari Cephus, told Variety that he is in a stable condition and is being closely monitored in the hospital. In 2020, rapper Megan Thee Stallion survived a shooting following an argument inside a vehicle in Los Angeles. Stallion, who was shot in both feet, later accused fellow rapper Tory Lanez of the attack, which sparked wider conversations about violence against women and the personal toll of gun violence. Baseball legend David Ortiz was shot at a nightclub in Santo Domingo in 2019 in what appeared to be a case of mistaken identity. The bullet caused severe internal injuries, and Oritz had to undergo surgery to remove parts of his intestines, colon, and gallbladder. He eventually recovered, but the incident left lasting scars.
