In today's presentation, we will be looking at 1 John 5:1-5. We've already talked about the fact that it's a manifest contradiction to claim to love God , yet hate your brother. And we explained in detail what the contradiction was. A child of God cannot hate another child of God because they are both indwelled with the Holy Spirit. We also discovered that at the root of the hatred is an antipathy towards the righteousness of God. So the person who hates his brother in Christ really is completely opposed to the righteousness of God. Today we'll build on what we've already learned and talk about the nature and traits of true children of God.
