Away from me, you evildoers!’ have always made me tremble with fear and I hope they have that same effect on you. They’ve often caused me to examine myself to see If I’m in the faith. faith so my goal this morning is to

explore Matthew 7 verse 21- 24 because I

believe there's an explosion of false

prophets more than ever in our day and

age and as Believers we ought to guard

our hearts and Minds against counterfeit

it's imperative that we do that so we're

the first thing I want to look at is

this we we need to know what led up to

those statement by Jesus so it's good

to see some signs there are cracks that

they may do everything to hide it but

there's always an element that will

expose their duplicity so I'm not

talking about genuine Believers that are

struggling with sin and are aware of

their own weaknesses because Paul talks

about that in Romans 7:14 to2 and John

also talks about it so I'm going to go

to that and I want to give you a

distinction I'm not saying that as a

Christian you would never struggle with

sin but there is a difference and you

got we have to be able to make the

distinction between the person that is a

hypocrite and the person that is

genuinely struggling and holding on to

Christ so let's go to Romans uh 7 verse

14-2 and we're going to read what Paul

says Paul is talking here he said we

know that the law is spiritual but I am

unspiritual so that's a slave to sin

talking referring to this the flesh the

nature of sin I do not I do not

that I want to do but the evil I do not

law at work although I want to do good

inner being I Delight in God's law but I

see another law at work in me Waging War

a prisoner of the law of sin at work

within me what a Wretched Man I am who

will rescue me from this body that is

death thanks be to God who delivers me

through Jesus Christ Our Lord so then I

myself in my mind I'm a slave to God's

law in my spirit but in my sinful nature

slave to the law of sin now when Paul

was talking about this thing he was

talking he was referring to a very

well-known practice in that time

whenever you committed a crime and you

killed somebody what what happened was

they tied the body of the person that

you killed to your body and that body

roted on your back so basically it was

some one of the ways you paid for your

sin so basically Paul is trying to make

create some kind of parallel there to

just opposing both Concepts you can see

what's going on Jesus has crucified the

sinful nature in us but we still living

in this body of sin and we are still

struggling with sin now this is a

struggle you see it's an ongoing

struggle it's not Paul is not saying

that you Delight in your sin no you want

to fight against it and you know that

that sinful nature is still hanging just

like the dead body that you've killed in

in that time so it's kind of like the

analogy here Paul is not saying make

excuses when you sin say well it's the

sinful nature no no no no yes it is a

sinful nature but you fighting against

it it's something that you're fighting

against you don't Delight in it because

you are no longer a slave to sin but a

slave to the law of God now John also

talks about it in first John uh 1:7 but

if we walk in the light say is in the

light we have fellowship with one

another and the blood of Jesus his son

purifies us from all sin so John is

saying there's going to be times when

fall to sin but you have fellowship with

sure we make the distinction between

it's someone that is struggling but

fighting in as opposed to someone that

just enjoys his sin and is is a

hypocrite claims to be something that

he's not okay and and John 1 John 2 also

write this to you so that you would not

sin but if anybody doeses sin we have an

advocate with the father Jesus Christ

the righteous one he is the atoning

sacrifice for our sins and not only for

our sins but also for the sins of the

world so this is the concept here you

don't remain in your sin but you go to

the light you go to the Lord and then

you ask for strength to continue to live

a life that pleases God so basically

hypocritical Liars now some of them are

but eventually there are cracks that

give away their true nature but when

people see the signs they don't address

person is that we don't even we can't

even conceive in our mind that they

would do the things that we think might

the signs but we ignore it because we we

teacher there's no way he can do that

and we ignore and dismiss the signs and

Jesus tells us not to dismiss miss

anything but to put everyone under the

microscope no one should be exempt from

it everybody has to be under the

microscope I don't care how long you've

served Jesus I don't care how long

you've been teaching I don't care how

long you claim you've been a Christian

every one of us has to come under the

microscopic eye of the word of God no

one is beyond failure like if you think

of standing think again so we have to

authenticate everyone and it's a daily

thing we just don't just put our guards

down a lot of time we do that because

the teacher has been popular for so many

years and they've preached solid good

preaching so therefore we don't want to

even think to ourselves that they are

capable of doing the things that we

see is happening so there are signs and

we are in denial so we have to be

careful and guard against that because

everyone has to be put under the

microscope I'm not saying let's go on a

Witch Hunt that's not what I'm saying

but what I'm saying is this the only

perfect person that ever existed is

Jesus everybody else including me or you

is subject to what

been talking about the word of God if

you just believe me and you just think

be put under the microscope because some

that claims to be a Christian we have to

start with verse 21 not everyone who

kingdom of heaven but only the one who

prerequisite is doing the will of God
