Why Do Christians Stand Against Abortion & Defend The Rights Of The Unborn Children?
Feb 20, 2025
A lot of people wonder why believers in Christ are so adamant about defending the rights of the unborn babies. I’ve had several conversations with friends and family members who always claim that it is a woman’s right to have an abortion. Recently I was talking to my father, a retired pediatrician who made the same assertion. He told me that a woman had the right to have an abortion at any given time during her pregnancy. Then I asked him the following question: “What about the fetus or the child, where is his/her right? And he said the following:” they don’t have any because they weren’t responsible for their own conception”. You can see clearly the flaw in his argument. He basically gave an arbitrary right to the woman and disregarded the unborn child’s right. The people that espouse this kind of statement tend to forget that they themselves are alive because their parents didn’t abort them. You see I can go on and on about defending the rights of the unborn child and those who oppose this can also defend the rights of the women and we will never come to an agreement until we have a standard for what is right. As long as we don’t believe in an absolute, everything is permissible but fortunately there is an absolute, and we must abide by the absolute. So today I’m going to show you why believers in Christ defend the rights of the unborn babies, see video

hello good morning this is tayba
0:02
tribes.com
0:03
and today again i'm taking another uh
0:06
very tough
0:07
topic to talk about and the title of my
0:10
presentation is why do christians stand
0:13
against abortion
0:14
and defend the rights of the unborn
0:16
children
0:18
so let's go to my introduction
0:21
um like a lot of people wonder why
0:23
believers in christ or christians are so
0:25
adamant
0:26
about defending the rights of the unborn
0:28
babies
0:30
and i myself have had like several
0:32
conversations with friends and family
0:34
members
0:34
and who always claim that it is a
0:36
woman's right to have an abortion
0:39
and recently i was talking to my dad and
0:42
he's a retired uh pediatrician
0:45
and he made the same assertion he told
0:47
me that a woman
0:48
had the right to have an abortion at any
0:51
given time
0:52
through her pregnancy and i asked him
0:54
the following question i said that
0:56
what about the fetus of the child what
0:59
is his right or her right
1:00
and he said they don't have any because
1:03
they were not
1:04
responsible for their own conception you
1:07
can clearly see the flaw in his argument
1:09
he basically gave an arbitrary right to
1:12
the woman
1:13
and disregarded the unborn a child's
1:16
right
1:17
and the people that espouse this kind of
1:19
statement tend to forget that they
1:20
themselves are alive
1:21
because their parents didn't abort them
1:24
so you see i can go on and on about
1:26
defending the rights
1:27
of the unborn child and those who oppose
1:30
it can
1:31
also defend the rights of the woman and
1:33
we will never
1:34
come to an agreement until we have a
1:36
standard for what is right
1:39
so as long as we don't believe in an
1:40
absolute
1:42
everything is permissible but
1:44
fortunately there is an absolute
1:46
and we must abide by the absolute so
1:49
today i'm going to show you why
1:51
believers in christ
1:52
defend the rights of the unborn babies
1:55
so that's what we're going to be talking
1:56
about today
1:57
so the first thing i want to do is i
1:58
want to show that god exists
2:00
objectively because that's our premise
2:03
we need to start with
2:04
that understanding and um
2:08
at the outset without acknowledging the
2:10
object objective existence of god
2:12
i have no business defending the rights
2:14
of the unborn babies because it will be
2:16
my opinion
2:17
against yours so now i'm going to
2:20
establish that there is a god
2:21
and then i tell you why this is
2:23
important
2:25
so basically i'm going to ask you a
2:27
question was there ever a time
2:30
when there was nothing and obviously the
2:33
answer to that is no
2:35
a big note right because every living
2:38
being is derived
2:40
and doesn't exist on its own the
2:42
universe included
2:43
and the expansion of the universe proves
2:45
that he had a beginning
2:47
and all of us owe our existence to our
2:49
parents
2:50
and the proper functioning of conditions
2:52
outside of our control
2:54
so if you're all derived then logically
2:57
someone must exist that has always
3:00
existed
3:01
or nothing could ever be
3:04
all right and then we're going to talk
3:06
about that still
3:08
you and i are derived individuals
3:10
instead of flux
3:11
flux means changing and when i say i am
3:14
i mean i exist so i exist because of my
3:16
mother and my father
3:18
and you exist or you are because of your
3:20
own parents
3:21
and if you keep following that sequence
3:23
you understand that anything that exists
3:25
is derived even your shoes or whatever
3:28
you use
3:29
and the statement i am is you only
3:32
unique to god
3:33
meaning he has no beginning and no end
3:35
he exists
3:36
eternally and that separates us the
3:39
created
3:40
universe from god the eternal being
3:43
and then i want to talk about the human
3:45
dna the intelligent design
3:47
you see like the human dna is about 3.5
3:50
billion letters long
3:52
and contained within it is a code that
3:54
is responsible for
3:55
many functions of the body that leads to
3:57
the color of your eyes
3:58
your hair your height and several other
4:01
aspects of your being
4:03
and what is the closest thing to the
4:05
human dna that you can think of
4:08
think about it i may give you the answer
4:10
as a computer right
4:12
so what does that show that shows that
4:14
if i tell you that the computer
4:16
was self-regenerated you lie to my face
4:19
because the code in the computer is
4:21
specific okay it's a specific
4:23
coding that's in there and you always
4:25
say well who did it
4:27
so basically even the dna and the code
4:30
that's within it shows that there is
4:32
a mind behind it it's not random because
4:36
it's specific
4:37
okay so there is a mind behind it
4:41
big bang cosmology again i'm going
4:43
through this like very fast i have
4:45
i have the whole thing on my website if
4:46
you want to look but i'm just going to
4:47
go through this very fast for the sake
4:49
of time
4:50
so big bang cosmology now even the big
4:52
bang those who believe in the big bang
4:55
the big bank screams the existence of
4:57
god and i'll tell you why
4:59
because everything in a state of inertia
5:01
meaning stable
5:02
stays in that state of inertia unless
5:05
acted upon
5:06
by an outside force so if the big bang
5:08
caused
5:09
the cosmos and not chaos then who's
5:12
behind the big bank
5:14
in other words who caused it
5:17
you see okay i'm gonna keep going
5:21
the universe at the beginning now for
5:24
the longest time
5:25
science believed that the universe was
5:27
eternal and they rejected the idea that
5:29
he had a beginning because they didn't
5:31
want genesis 1 and 1 because genesis 1 1
5:34
says
5:34
in the beginning god created a universe
5:37
okay the world and but astronomer edwin
5:41
hubble
5:42
he revolutionized the field of
5:43
astrophysics his research
5:45
uh helped prove that the universe is
5:48
expanding
5:49
and since the universe is expanding it
5:51
means i had a beginning
5:52
so this is my thing had science
5:56
taking genesis 1 1 seriously they would
5:58
have come to that conclusion sooner than
6:00
1929 so basically it took almost 2 000
6:03
years for them to acknowledge
6:05
genesis 1 1 why didn't they do it
6:07
because of pride
6:08
because god in the scripture had it all
6:11
right
6:12
let's keep going the moral law now the
6:16
existence of our moral law
6:18
scream the existence of a moral law
6:20
giver there's only one set of natural
6:22
laws
6:23
and that could have only come from one
6:24
mind okay i'm gonna repeat that again
6:27
there's only one set of natural laws and
6:30
that
6:30
could have only come from one mind and
6:33
he created god is no god at all so for
6:35
god to be god
6:36
he must exist eternally
6:40
so scripture says for it's not the
6:43
hearers of the lord who are righteous
6:44
before god
6:45
but the dukers of the law who will be
6:47
justified for when gentiles
6:50
who do not have the law by nature do
6:52
what the law requires
6:54
they are a law to themselves even though
6:56
they don't have the law
6:57
they show that the work of the law is
6:59
written on their heart
7:01
while their conscience also bears
7:02
witness and they are conflicting
7:04
thoughts
7:04
accuse or even excuse them on that day
7:07
when according to my gospel
7:09
god judges the secrets of man by christ
7:12
jesus
7:13
basically god has imposed his laws on
7:16
our hearts
7:16
you don't have to know the ten
7:18
commandments to know that
7:19
stealing is bad because we were created
7:23
to reflect the character of god this is
7:25
why by nature
7:26
we do the things of the lord and if
7:28
there is a universal moral law within
7:30
our hearts
7:31
then there is a law given who is
7:32
transcendent and has
7:34
constituted the absolute okay
7:37
and then to to cop this off uh i'm gonna
7:40
say
7:40
there's no such thing as an honest
7:42
atheist because people say well i don't
7:45
believe in god because there's no
7:46
evidence
7:47
that's a lie because the wrath of god is
7:51
actually directed at
7:52
his dishonesty and life you see
7:55
god himself has made himself known to
7:57
anyone through the general revelation
7:59
that that be the things that have been
8:01
created through his divine nature and
8:03
eternal power
8:05
so mankind is without excuse and an
8:08
atheist
8:09
is an atheist not because he or she
8:11
hasn't been given enough
8:12
evidence about the existence of god but
8:14
that's because of his own or her own
8:16
immorality
8:18
so has she decided to because they've
8:20
decided
8:21
to suppress the truth about the
8:22
existence of god
8:24
in order to advance their own agenda
8:27
okay
8:27
denying god by suppressing or repressing
8:30
the truth about his
8:31
existence eventually becomes adopted as
8:33
a form of truth
8:34
the lie becomes the truth to them
8:36
because their minds have been darkened
8:38
and that's what happened to most people
8:40
they get to the point where they begin
8:42
to believe their own lies
8:44
again now that i've proved that god
8:46
exists objectively
8:48
i also need to show that the god of
8:49
bible is the only true god
8:51
now i can go through an extensive um
8:54
show again to show you that and i i'm
8:56
gonna do that actually
8:57
so we talked about how to know with
8:59
certainty that god exists
9:01
objectively and we've to your
9:02
satisfaction i've proven that to you
9:04
and now we uh we're gonna look at some
9:07
evidence
9:08
to show that the god of the scripture is
9:10
the true god so that's what i want to do
9:13
so here's the thing god has given us his
9:15
word
9:16
to reveal his identity okay so if the
9:18
word of god is the truth then god is the
9:20
only true god
9:22
so how do we know that the word of god
9:24
is the truth and that's my challenge
9:26
right now this is the next challenge for
9:27
me so first we need to know the nature
9:30
of mankind
9:31
okay what is your evaluation of mankind
9:34
are we as humans
9:35
inherently good or evil okay and then we
9:38
need to find out what the bible says
9:39
about it
9:40
about our natural condition so if you
9:42
look at psalm 14 1-3
9:44
scripture says the fool says in his
9:47
heart there is no god
9:49
and the scripture says they are corrupt
9:52
they do abominable deeds there is none
9:54
who does good
9:56
scripture says the lord looks down from
9:58
heaven on the children of man to see if
10:00
there's there are any who understand
10:02
who seek after god they have all
10:05
turned aside together they have become
10:08
corrupt
10:08
there's none who does good not even one
10:11
you see that there is none who does good
10:15
not even one news flash
10:18
there's none who does good
10:22
not even one the greatest man that you
10:25
can think of
10:26
nelson mandela you know even um
10:29
whoever you think of according to god
10:32
there's
10:32
none who does good not even one because
10:35
i stand
10:36
we don't understand the goodness of god
10:38
so therefore we say things such as where
10:40
he's a good person
10:42
because we compare other people by our
10:45
own standard but the scripture says
10:47
there's none who does good not even one
10:50
okay so i was going to look at second
10:53
timothy but i'm not going to do that
10:54
so basically the bible has accurately
10:57
dis described the condition the
10:59
condition of your heart and my heart
11:00
and the heart of every living human that
11:02
exists on the face of the earth
11:04
how does that inform you the voice
11:06
accuracy in telling the truth
11:08
one of the ways to evaluate the document
11:10
of history
11:12
is figuring out whether it's interested
11:14
in truth or telling the truth
11:16
and that brings me to my next point
11:17
which is is the word of god
11:19
interested in truth now here's the thing
11:22
if you pay attention to the account
11:24
recorded in sacred scripture you'll
11:26
recognize his pattern for telling the
11:28
truth
11:29
the author does not embellish the jewish
11:31
nation blunders
11:32
and we are told of many embarrassing
11:34
stories that the kings and the people
11:36
involved wouldn't want anyone to know
11:39
about
11:40
okay because if you write a book about
11:41
yourself chances are you're not going to
11:43
talk about your embarrassing stories a
11:45
lot of times the things
11:46
you may talk about some funny ones but
11:48
if one the darkest secret
11:50
you don't want that to be known by
11:52
people you want to conceal that because
11:54
that's what we are we want to people to
11:55
know the good things that we've done
11:57
we don't want them to see the darkness
11:59
in our heart
12:00
but if you look at the scriptures then
12:02
the blunders
12:03
by the jewish nation are not hidden so
12:06
what does that say about the authors and
12:08
their willingness to tell the truth
12:09
as it is that means that they want to
12:11
tell the event just like it happened
12:14
david the king is often like we seek
12:16
liver as a champion of the faith
12:18
we call him even the man after god's own
12:21
heart
12:22
and i don't think he wants his adultery
12:24
with bathsheba to be made public for all
12:26
of us to read about
12:27
he not only committed adultery but he
12:31
also had her husband killed
12:33
i don't think david would have wanted
12:35
people to know about it because he
12:36
wanted to know about his exploit like
12:38
how he killed
12:40
goliath and all that kind of stuff but
12:42
this is written in the chronicles of the
12:43
king of judah
12:45
and the jewish themselves they wouldn't
12:46
want the account of the ark of the
12:47
covenant being captured by the
12:49
philistines to be mentioned
12:51
because that's an embarrassing thing in
12:52
history but this is there for us
12:55
because the bible doesn't shy away from
12:57
exposing these shameful stories to us
13:01
and the next powerful thing that we have
13:02
for at our disposal is the science of
13:04
archaeology
13:05
and i showed you last week how two weeks
13:08
ago how
13:09
uh isaiah 45 was basically
13:12
authenticated by cyrus cylinder so i'm
13:14
not going to do that today
13:15
because archaeology has proven time and
13:18
time in the game
13:18
that the bible's accounts are indeed
13:21
authentic
13:22
okay and now i'm also going to talk
13:24
about philosophy
13:26
because i've already showed you about
13:28
the universe at the beginning so i'm not
13:29
going to waste time on that
13:30
but also i want to talk about the
13:31
philosophers necessary being now
13:34
philosophers talk about the necessary
13:36
transcendent being that explains
13:38
all other existence and the interesting
13:40
thing is moses
13:42
already knew this in exodus 3 14 because
13:44
god said to moses
13:46
i am who i am and he said say this to
13:48
the people of israel
13:49
i am have sent me to you because
13:53
this is incredible like this is a
13:56
collaboration like
13:57
the the philosopher talked about a
13:59
necessary being and moses knew this
14:02
before these philosophers even
14:04
talk about this thing so how do you
14:06
think people call moses primitive
14:07
but listen to how his reasoning here do
14:10
you see what i'm saying
14:11
now so far all i've done is show you
14:13
that god's
14:15
word is willing to tell the truth so
14:17
there are other things that we want to
14:18
talk about the nature of god himself
14:20
okay now let's talk about the nature of
14:22
the god of the bible
14:24
god is holy and oftentimes we don't
14:26
truly understand what
14:27
holy means we when we hear holy we
14:30
usually think about
14:31
the moral perfection of god that's not
14:33
the only thing
14:35
the very first thing that god's holiness
14:37
means is his transcendence
14:39
transcendence he's holy he's other
14:41
there's none like god
14:44
okay god is just and because he is just
14:46
he cannot tolerate sin
14:47
so when i say god is holy meaning he is
14:51
holy he's in a category of himself
14:53
that's not like god
14:54
because god exists eternally i am holy
14:56
he said
14:57
that's not like god okay and like i said
15:00
now let's talk about his moral
15:02
perfection
15:03
god cannot tolerate sin because a just
15:05
god must hate evil and love good
15:07
because god by nature is good so in
15:10
order for god to be god he must be good
15:12
and he must hate evil so how do we atone
15:15
for our sins
15:16
how do you break the gap and the answer
15:19
to this question is vital
15:20
in understanding why we believe that we
15:22
have the truth and that leads me to my
15:24
next question which is the most
15:25
important one
15:27
what did jesus say about himself now
15:29
jesus claimed to be the only son of god
15:31
and he said in john 14 6
15:33
i am the way and the truth and the life
15:35
and no one comes to the father
15:37
except through me and jesus also said in
15:40
john 17 3
15:41
and this is eternal life that they know
15:44
you
15:44
the only true god and jesus christ whom
15:48
you have sent
15:49
now jesus talked about the exclusivity
15:51
of truth and he is actually the epitome
15:53
of truth
15:54
so now the question that we have to
15:56
wrestle with is this was jesus
15:58
telling the truth because if jesus
16:00
wasn't telling the truth then we don't
16:01
need to listen to him
16:02
but if he is telling the truth you
16:04
better pay attention
16:07
so now first of all let's see our other
16:09
religions
16:10
view jesus now jews jews believe that
16:14
jesus was
16:14
mary's son he was a teacher and he had
16:17
many disciples and he was respected
16:19
and he performed miracles and claimed to
16:22
be the messiah and was crucified on the
16:23
cross
16:24
they also acknowledged his followers
16:26
reported that jesus was raised from the
16:28
dead
16:29
now muslims muslims believe that jesus
16:31
was born of a virgin
16:33
is to be revered and respected he was a
16:35
prophet and by definition a prophet does
16:37
not lie
16:38
and he was a wise teacher who worked in
16:40
miracles and he ascended to heaven
16:42
now amada muslims which are not a branch
16:45
believe that jesus may have been born of
16:47
a virgin he was a prophet and a wise
16:49
teacher
16:50
he worked miracles and he was crucified
16:52
on the cross
16:53
so baha'i believed that jesus came from
16:55
god was a wise teacher who had a divine
16:57
and human nature
16:58
he worked in miracles and he was
17:00
crucified and he was resurrected
17:01
as an atonement for humanity hindus
17:04
hindus believe that jesus was a holy man
17:07
and was a wise teacher and he's a god
17:09
okay
17:10
buddhists they believe jesus was an
17:12
enlightened man and a wise teacher
17:14
and new age believers that he was a
17:17
moral teacher
17:18
so you see most religions they say by
17:20
this man that he was a prophet
17:22
so based on the evaluation and feedback
17:24
from other religions
17:26
it is very reasonable to say that jesus
17:28
was a man of his word
17:30
right he's a man of his word so it's
17:32
it's important that we establish that
17:34
and if that's the case then his
17:36
statement in john 17 3
17:38
is true because he's a man of his word
17:43
and i know a lot of you may say that
17:44
this is not sufficient
17:46
evidence and i'm gonna go a little bit
17:49
further
17:50
jesus claimed to be god and he predicted
17:52
his own death and resurrection
17:54
now the question is did that really
17:56
happen now i want you to put your
17:58
thinking caps on and ask yourself
18:00
several questions
18:02
what were the disciples willing to die
18:04
for
18:05
the disciples were willing to die for a
18:08
faith that rested on their eyewitness of
18:11
the resurrection
18:12
i didn't say a fifth arrested on their
18:15
ideology on the i witness
18:19
of the resurrection they claimed that
18:21
they saw the resurrected jesus who
18:23
remained with them for 40 days and were
18:25
willing to die for it
18:26
now one of them recanted even under
18:29
torture
18:30
by the way most of them were martyred
18:32
for the every reason
18:34
and some of you may say to me well um
18:37
people die for their faith all the time
18:39
so what's your point the thing is this
18:41
they die for an eyewitness you see
18:44
jesus predicted his death and
18:46
resurrection and he happened
18:48
exactly how he predicted it if the
18:50
disciples were lying about the
18:52
resurrection
18:53
then they had to have known that they
18:54
were dying for something that was a
18:56
known
18:57
lie and that's not reasonable at all
19:00
no one of them recanted even on the
19:02
torture and their exposition of the old
19:04
testament
19:05
proves that they have been taught
19:07
misused by jesus
19:08
prior to his ascension to heaven my
19:11
whole point in this argument is to show
19:12
you that jesus is who he claims
19:14
he is because everything that he said
19:17
came to pass
19:18
and hence jesus is the only way the
19:20
truth and the life as he claimed
19:22
and his statement is true again you can
19:24
go
19:25
and read this extensively some somewhere
19:27
else but i'm not gonna do that right now
19:29
and uh now that we've established it we
19:32
need to go back to
19:34
our um topic and then make some points
19:37
there
19:38
so now we've established that there is a
19:39
god and we've established that the god
19:41
of the scripture is the only true god
19:43
so now we need to know what is god's
19:45
will for the unborn babies
19:47
that's our next question
19:50
we are going to go to psalm 139 um
19:53
verse 13 to 6 and we are going to look
19:55
at that the scripture says
19:57
for you formed my inward part you needed
20:00
me together in my mother's womb
20:02
i praise you for i am fearfully and
20:05
wonderfully made
20:06
wonderful all your works my soul knows
20:09
it very well
20:10
my frame was not hidden from you when i
20:12
was being made
20:13
in secret intricately woven in the
20:15
depths of the earth
20:17
your eyes saw my unformed substance
20:20
in your book were written every one of
20:23
them the dares that were found for me
20:25
when i was yet there was none there was
20:28
none of them
20:29
you see that this is an incredible
20:31
scripture
20:32
incredible now let's go back
20:37
so as you can see god cares heavily from
20:40
the unborn babies based on the scripture
20:43
he has put a high premium on their lives
20:46
when david wrote the psalm he was shown
20:48
that his day were ordained
20:50
by god himself before he was even born
20:53
god knew him this is how much god cares
20:56
for those whom he has called
20:58
so because we've established that god is
21:00
the standard for our righteousness
21:02
therefore since god loves the unborn
21:04
babies we
21:06
must love the unborn babies
21:10
it's not optional but it's an imperative
21:12
we must
21:13
love them so when you decide to
21:15
annihilate
21:17
the unborn babies by way of abortion you
21:19
are basically opposing
21:21
god's willing standard and you will be
21:23
headed you will be held
21:24
accountable for your choices and your
21:26
actions unless you repent
21:28
again i'll say that again you will be
21:30
held accountable for your choices and
21:32
your actions
21:33
unless you repent now the thing is this
21:36
i don't want to talk about this without
21:38
bringing the most
21:38
common objection that i hear people
21:41
usually say to me
21:43
what about a woman that got raped and
21:45
got pregnant as a result
21:46
what if this is a pregnancy that can be
21:48
fatal to the woman in the sense that
21:50
maybe she
21:50
she will die if she keeps the baby or
21:53
what if the
21:54
baby is seriously like ill and won't
21:56
have a quality of life what if
21:58
you can fill in the blind with any
21:59
objection that you may have
22:01
and then i'm gonna attempt to answer
22:03
that today
22:05
now here's the thing first
22:08
of all i want to establish
22:12
that we are not talking about isolated
22:14
cases okay
22:16
rape is something that's very
22:17
unfortunate and can scar
22:19
a woman for life but we must learn to
22:21
distinguish between
22:23
god general defined real and isolated
22:25
specific cases
22:28
okay let me explain what i'm saying
22:30
god's idea of marriage is that we must
22:32
remain
22:33
we must remain permanent because god
22:35
hates divorce
22:37
but god also allowed divorce in case
22:39
there wasn't there was like
22:41
adultery i'm not saying that god
22:43
condones abortion in certain cases
22:45
but what i'm saying is that god is a god
22:47
of mercy and while he hates abortion i
22:50
believe if a woman has
22:51
an unwanted pregnancy or anything god
22:54
will make a way suitable for her in that
22:56
situation
22:57
he may give her other alternatives maybe
22:59
put up the child for adoption
23:01
or he may change the disposition of her
23:03
heart so that she ends up
23:04
loving up loving the child who knows i'm
23:06
not god
23:08
but when we begin to make those isolated
23:10
cases major
23:12
in order to defend our our own
23:14
immorality
23:15
we are trying to play god i'll say that
23:17
again when we begin to make those
23:19
isolated cases
23:20
major in order to defend our own
23:23
immorality
23:25
we are trying to play god and we bring
23:27
up these hypothetical cases which show
23:29
that we have no clue who god is
23:32
to begin with because scripture says
23:34
that god is faithful
23:36
and we know he will not let us be tried
23:38
beyond our ability to withstand or bear
23:40
but with every temptation or trial he
23:43
will make a way
23:44
that will be bearable for us so we must
23:47
trust in his providence and goodness to
23:48
help us
23:49
through whatever trial we are immersed
23:52
into
23:53
and i'm gonna go to scripture for that
23:55
in matthew 12 1-8 to make this point
23:57
clear
23:59
scripture says at that time jesus went
24:02
through the grain fields on the sabbath
24:05
his disciples were hungry and they began
24:07
to pluck heads of grain and to eat
24:09
but when the pharisees saw it they said
24:12
to him look
24:13
your disciples are doing what is not
24:15
lawful to do on the sabbath and jesus
24:18
said to them
24:18
have you not read what david did when he
24:21
was hungry
24:22
and those who were with him how he
24:24
entered the house of god and
24:25
ate the bread of the presence which is
24:28
not lawful
24:29
for him to eat nor for those who were
24:31
with him but only for the priests
24:34
or have you not read in the law of how
24:36
on the sabbath the priest
24:38
in the temple profane the sabbath and
24:40
are guiltless i tell you
24:42
something greater than the temple is
24:43
here and if you have known what this
24:45
means i desire mercy and not sacrifice
24:48
you will not have condemned the
24:50
guiltless for the son of man is lord of
24:52
the sabbath
24:53
so you see what is happening here
24:56
you see what is happening okay like
24:59
basically
25:00
jesus goes to the temple and
25:03
he's not going through the temple he's
25:05
walking through this green uh
25:06
this this fields and the disciples
25:08
decide to eat something
25:10
now you need to understand that the
25:11
sabbath was a solemn day of rest as
25:13
given in scripture
25:14
that was the rule that was the standard
25:18
but on that day the disciples were
25:20
plucking the heads of grain
25:22
jesus was god he permitted it because of
25:24
his merciful attribute
25:27
he showed them mercy by allowing them to
25:29
eat
25:30
but the sabbath keeping was still the
25:32
standard and jesus
25:33
was not going to violate his own laws
25:35
but in that specific case
25:37
he made provisions through his mercy
25:40
because he's the lord of the sabbath now
25:43
explain this so he can understand
25:45
usually sometimes when there's like an
25:47
accident on the road
25:48
a police officer may show up and begin
25:51
to direct traffic
25:52
and at that specific moment he may tell
25:54
you to drive even though the traffic
25:56
light is red he may say
25:57
go now does that mean that the police
26:01
officer is valuing the law
26:02
no at that moment the police officer's
26:05
authority
26:06
transcends that of the traffic light but
26:09
it doesn't mean that the police officer
26:10
is violating the law he's showing you
26:12
mercy he's saying hey go through the
26:13
light because now
26:15
i am the lord of this traffic light i am
26:18
telling you to go because there's an
26:19
accident and i'm making provision
26:21
because i understand it's an accident
26:23
so i'm gonna make a provision here the
26:26
traffic light still has value
26:27
but for the meantime the police officer
26:30
rules
26:31
you see you can't make the minor cases
26:34
or isolated cases the major
26:35
god divine will is that we keep the
26:38
unborn babies and we protect them
26:41
but in specific cases things may happen
26:44
and at that moment
26:45
god himself will make a way i don't know
26:48
what that's going to be for you
26:50
but he will make a way we can't play god
26:53
and start to make these hypothetical
26:55
cases
26:55
the major and saying well if a woman
26:57
gets pregnant because she's raped then
26:59
therefore you must allow abortion no
27:01
that's not what jesus did when he was
27:04
walking through this
27:05
fields he allowed the disciples to eat
27:07
at that moment not because he was
27:09
violating the law
27:10
but because he was using his merciful
27:13
attribute at that moment say these
27:14
people are hungry
27:15
i know this is the sabbath but i made a
27:17
way for them
27:18
i'm not violating the sabbath because
27:20
i'm the lord of the sabbath
27:21
this is what jesus was saying i desire
27:24
mercy no sacrifice
27:25
god is a mercy from god he will make a
27:27
way but we can't play god and trying to
27:29
say
27:30
hey abortion must be allowed no
27:34
god makes provision when there's a
27:36
specific case
27:37
but the general rule is no abortion
27:40
you understand it this is what i'm
27:42
trying to show you
27:44
so you must submit to god's rule and
27:46
authority when it comes to the unborn
27:48
children
27:48
because god is the standard for our
27:51
righteousness
27:52
regardless of whether we approve of his
27:54
word or not
27:55
we are not autonomous you are not
27:58
self-existent
28:00
i mean that's it you are not
28:02
self-existent you exist because god
28:04
allows you to exist
28:06
so you are not autonomous you don't make
28:08
the rules you have free will
28:11
but you don't make the rules you abide
28:13
by the rule of the law
28:15
the lord and god he is the lord
28:20
and hopefully this have helped you guys
28:22
out and i'm looking forward to talking
28:24
to you again next time
