But first, though, this is a GB News exclusive
0:02
We can reveal that an anti-migrant activist, oh, sorry, anti-migrant activists who travelled to France to stop the small boats
0:09
are now facing arrest. They include those from the Raise the Colours movement
0:15
which has carried out what it describes as civilian border control or Operation Stop the Boats
0:21
Now, videos show them wading into the sea, shouting at migrants and slashing small boats
0:26
They go into the sand dunes and things and find the boats and slash the boats, etc
0:30
Obviously, what they are trying to do is to stop those boats being used to import illegal migrants into Britain
0:36
But GB News can reveal that they now face arrest in France
0:40
which senior French politicians, apparently, they're furious about the situation. Well, a source close to Minister Laurent Nunes
0:47
who is the equivalent of the Home Secretary, told a French newspaper that he demanded that the members of these groups
0:54
these Brits going over there to slash these boats are identified and arrested. Well, I'm joined now
1:02
by the international security and border control expert, Henry Bolton, OBE. Now, look, Henry
1:06
I at pains to say here that I obviously not encouraging anyone to do anything that breaks the law or to do anything criminal anything like that at all Well you know should the French not be asking for a bit more help here stopping the boats There seems to be some people who are offering to do it for free
1:22
Yeah, recruit them into the gendarmerie and then they'll do it legally
1:28
Look, if a French person comes to the United Kingdom and breaks the law, you would expect the British police to arrest them
1:37
They don't get a get out of jail free card because they're French
1:41
Likewise, if a Brit goes to France and it doesn't matter what law it is, if they break a law, they're making themselves vulnerable to arrest
1:48
And that's what the French are saying. In this case, if they're harassing people, if they're if they're likely to cause a public order type of situation and so on, they make themselves arrestable
1:57
And I, you know, I'm a former police officer and I can't condone anybody doing that at all
2:03
But what, at the same time, without justifying anyone breaking the law, it is time particularly the British government woke up because for years the British people have voted in elections
2:20
They have in every way conceivable without absolute violence The British people have made it known to a succession of governments that they are sick and tired of this problem And nothing decisive has been done In a functioning
2:35
state, in a functioning democracy, the state will enforce the laws on its borders lawfully
2:44
and decisively. And that has not happened. In fact, I would say that successive governments
2:51
have evaded that problem. They have been placating us with, you know
2:56
throwing the dog a bone. And this, without justifying it, what we're seeing now is a form of vigilantism
3:03
which is born of extreme frustration. Well, I'm amazed, Henry, I'm amazed it's not happened before
3:09
This is the thing. So if we look at the latest stats, the other breaking news that happened today
3:12
was 41,472 illegal migrants crossed the English Channel in 2025, which is a 13% increase on 2024
3:24
You couple that with loads of other stories that we hear. You've got the rapes, the sexual assaults, the murders, all of that
3:29
You've also then got the use of hotels. The other story today, that we're going to be building new homes
3:34
for some of these illegal entries as well And again not condoning it It shouldn go out there and break the law in any other country We wouldn I mean that part of the reason why I dare I say that they are going out and doing this in France is that they don like it when foreigners come to this country and break the law
3:49
So, you know, I can see that you have to be consistent in that regard. But I am amazed that it's not happened before
3:55
Yeah, so my, Patrick, I've said it for years. If the government fails to listen and act decisively on the matter of enforcing our borders
4:04
then the public at some point and the rate of immigration and let's face it, that's, you know, credit where credit is due
4:11
The last government, the Conservative government, introduced measures that have resulted in a dramatic fall
4:17
Not enough yet, but a dramatic fall in legal immigration. But illegal immigration is still going up
4:24
and nothing is being done about it. You've got stories that you've already covered
4:29
and you're going to cover of the sort of thing that is driving people to feel insecure
4:35
and that the government has got a different agenda. And this government and previous governments
4:41
have failed to act. So I agree with you. I've said for years, since 2014
4:47
if governments do not act on this matter, it is going to become more and more difficult
4:51
to put the genie back inside the bottle
