[Music] hello everybody and welcome to another live here from London so a couple of
0:17
housekeeping things before we get going there's lots of people who already lots of questions coming in so I'll do some of the Preamble stuff as quickly as I
0:23
possibly can um just remind of course if you're asking a question please write the word question if you're watching
0:29
this afterwards and you're not live bear in mind that this is entirely driven by live questions and I will put a little
0:35
chapter Mark in so you can jump through to kind of when the questions start um
0:40
so this is my last live stream not forever just until I head off of this
0:45
trip here so I head off fly off to Santiago uh Chile on Saturday this com
0:51
be Saturday and then I'll will be boarding as you can see his silver Endeavor on the 29th of October so my
0:57
plan is and that's the itinerary day my plan is of course when I'm on Silver Endeavor hopefully to do a live stream
1:03
um because they have star link on the ship and I believe from people who've been down there last season that's pretty good uh so we'll hopefully do
1:09
some live streams but I will do a live stream hopefully next Sunday when I'm in Santiago so that's your silver over
1:15
there now my aim because I arrive on the Sunday morning my aim is to do it at 400
1:20
PM San dieago time which uh looking at things um although clocks are changing
1:25
in the UK so I might have got this wrong so it's probably it's either going to be 8 7 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. in the UK and it
1:32
should probably be 3 P.M eastern time and noon Pacific time but certainly do keep an eye uh because once I'm there
1:39
and in the hotel and I'll quickly double check the times and everything's right and I'll sort of adjust the times to
1:44
make sure it's right so there should be um either sort of around noon Pacific time about 300 p.m. maybe also Eastern
1:51
Time 400 P p.m. Santiago time and about 8 or maybe s o'clock UK time so I'll definitely try and do that one thing I
1:58
want to quickly show you uh before we start is a really fantastic new tour now there's only two people who
2:05
currently have access to the toour so that's Emma Cruz's and myself so the great the reason I want to show it to
2:11
you is I just want to show you what it is quickly but also um all our followers uh can sign up to get access to this
2:18
tool before they start promoting more publicly which they'll do sometime in November with an aim to launching
2:23
towards the end of the year now the thing is called the cruise Globe so this is a test what what you do is you put
2:30
your like I I put about 20 of my cruises in and then they all show up on the map
2:36
but what's really cool about it is you can course all your cruises from 2015 and use a satellite tracking then you can zoom in interrup Port so I've done
2:44
some things I've zoomed in and which glacia I've gone right up to in Alaska in Juno where we docked and all that
2:50
kind of stuff so um it's it's really cool and it's really good tool as I mentioned only Emma and myself are
2:57
playing around with at the moment uh it's actually by these the guys who do these Cruise Maps here so but it's going
3:02
to be completely free when it launches uh so if you do want to sign up I've got links on my socials it's called the
3:08
cruise.com you sign up you can actually start inputting your cruises already on there if you want to um and then when it
3:15
launches you'll be amongst the first to do that it's really good fun I've got a little bit dicted because I massiv want
3:20
to put all my cruises in s that's the Cru globe.com so enough of that um so I
3:26
think that I have done all the uh various bits and pieces that I want to do so let's um get stuck into the
3:32
questions as I said I will definitely try and get through as quickly as I can
3:38
get as many done within 60 minutes now Susan has left a couple of questions around the Mong River Cruises uh so
3:44
Viking have posted their 2027 Mong River Cruises starting in Hano and ending in
3:50
Saigon uh so in hoian city with a combination of flight coach and cruise
3:57
it looks like only four days in the river is as usual um just got a follow-up question asking if ever look at the Mong river groups so basically um
4:04
Susan I'll take this off because it's covering me up so I did meong in 20120 in just a couple of months before
4:11
shutdown and my I double went and double checked and I did a 10 night cruise
4:18
however what I would say is um we went uh all the way from uh we saw in hman
4:25
City uh in the saon district is actually right where the cruises thing go and we went all the way up through Vietnam and
4:32
into Cambodia uh and we went Ed seen rip so we could actually go and anawat now I
4:38
haven't looked at that T I didn't get a chance to look at it so it may be that they're literally only covering a Vietnam part of the meong but we our
4:45
cruise was 10 nights however if you go in the dry season and not the rainy
4:51
season being that like I did I went in the more dry season we actually get had to get off the ship at some point um
4:58
because we couldn't pass through the uh the lake which I gone out my mind it's a
5:05
Tamp Lake there's a lake which is quite shallow um and in the rainy season the boats can cross it in the in the in the
5:12
dry season they can't so we actually got on a coach and we were coached about two or so hours away and we end up staying
5:17
in a hotel in SRE so we could then go to Anor wat so Susan what I would strongly encourage you Anor is just incredible
5:24
parts of Cambodia incredible so without looking at that ten what I would say is we did I did a 10 night Cru Ed on crossy
5:30
Europe much smaller ships than Viking not as luxurious as Viking but it was it was amazing uh there was only three
5:37
English speakers the rest were French so we actually had one guide advocated to three of us which is even more incredible um but um I would make sure
5:46
that you look at longer iies because there are so much to see I would secondly make sure that you're doing
5:52
Vietnam and Cambodia and that there is included or an extension that goes to ankor wat because that is really
5:58
remarkable so Susan did ask the question um and by the way lots of lines do it so
6:04
one I would encourage you to take a look at um is Amber waterways do it obviously across Europe it's not for everybody
6:10
because it's very French obviously and so most the passengers will be French and it's not as luxurious as the others
6:16
um uh and there's also pandal which have these beautiful classic ships uh which
6:22
have rave reviews and I when I go back next time I'd probably look at either I
6:28
might look at ammer or I'd like the pandal p n w p a n d a w um and they are
6:35
just really beautiful beautiful interesting kind of ships Susan asked me a question whether I would do a future
6:41
gr group Cruise now I've got a lot of questions around group cruises so I will come back to those in a second because
6:46
last night I also had my zoom my regular Zoom chat with my captain level uh
6:53
channel members and patrons and we spoke a little bit about group cruises there um so I think if I did a river cruise is
7:00
I would probably be looking at a European river cruise because I think the mikong may be a little bit too
7:05
limiting but never say never but I think uh River cruising in that discussion came up a lot and the other thing that
7:12
came up quite a lot is kind of smallship experiences so I'll come back to that when I get another question um because
7:18
there's another question I know about group cruises coming up shortly see the we good to see you here again uh what's
7:25
the one thing you did on cruises when you first started that now you would avoided all cost or Now do for me I now
7:32
calculate luxury Cruise inclusions versus math Market versus add-ons thank you um so see the well probably for me
7:40
it's uh the thing that came into my head when I saw questions was excursions when I first went on cruises I was very
7:47
cautious and I only went on Cruise Line Excursions as I bu up more confident less fretting about um you know getting
7:54
back in time uh also understand that group that excursions are quite expensive that they're more limiting
8:00
depending on the line you went on I do much more self- exloring or kind of independent touring that's probably for
8:07
me one of the key changes um that that I've that I've done and that does have
8:12
quite big budget impacts I mean you're quite right I mean I think your point here about making sure that you're doing
8:19
the kind of the door-to-door cost like how much is going to cost you if you go on a a pre you know premium or a mass
8:25
Resort line versus some of the smaller lines uh the difference is not always as great as
8:31
you think um so that's that is I think valid I probably am slightly unusual
8:37
when it comes to cruising because I'm obviously always looking at things with an eye to the channel as well as for
8:42
myself but um I do want to take a second thing
8:47
which is when I first started cruising I was very very uh Cruise Line loyal and I
8:54
wasn't at all priscu as it were with cruise lines so I started ini on Pino I didn't really like P know very much I
9:00
then shifted to qot and I for years but I would only go on qot and what with the
9:06
channel I started trying other lines and I realize there was so much more around there so I now get much more focused on
9:12
itineries with a portfolio of c and I and I'm much less obsessed about
9:17
building loyalty on a cruise line um I know you know it's I know there are pros and cons of of of of building loyalty uh
9:26
you I'm not going to ask your question bring your question because that'll go a whole world of uh things I don't want to
9:33
get into Dawn I'm considering a Cru from Bary to K that's K in Australia
9:39
traveling I guess to CODA Island Papa New Guinea eastern Australia Indonesia
9:44
is Mal islands are you aware of this ateny so dor I have I'm a little bit aware of the I've looked at various
9:51
atenis I'm actually doing uh in February next year I'm actually doing on crystal
9:57
sort of slightly repositioning uh which is from Tokyo down to Bley and I did look then at the extension part I do
10:04
find that that very interesting because they are slightly more unusual lines and
10:09
you there's a lot of the smaller lines particularly will have quite nice ATT so OB the preium side you got the crystals
10:16
but Oceania uh and I think asamara do a couple of those interesting ones but I haven't done it but if anyone has done
10:21
it then that would be great to to give daor some some tips but it looks like a great great itinery um and it's
10:28
interesting is I guess it's not it's ending in cans which is an interesting change of report
10:34
um the other thing D I would look at is whether any of the Expedition ships particular when they're repositioning
10:39
like the Seaborn Etc if they're doing those Pont might also do those because I think you might get some real deep dive
10:45
stuff uh hor I hope you hav't pronounced that correctly cruise prices seem very high
10:52
right now do you think there'll be a price correction or prices remain this high for seeable future the short answer
10:57
is they absolutely will remain high uh cruise lines are selling incredibly full um if you look at all the report you
11:04
know the results have come out from the roal Caribbean group the weion group Viking recently you know because they
11:09
have to keep do Co updates all of them are talking about how they a lot of them have already sold a huge slug of their
11:15
25 itineries um they you know they are selling over 100% capacity as you know
11:22
ships are double capaity based on double occupancy so once you get families and friends you
11:27
know you can go over um so I you know demand will keep prices high now what is
11:34
interesting though is it's what I do is I keep an eye on I'm seeing Cruise Lines
11:41
increasingly do things like flash sales um or second person traveling free so I
11:46
sign up to all of the cruise lines that I'm interested in um mailings and I jump
11:51
on promotions I should do a whole video actually around how how to get um deals and promotions in high prices I've had
11:59
it on I listed and I've kind of scoped it out so for example I booked cre two cruises recently in the last two weeks
12:05
or so uh one of which is a big around South America which is on H America 31
12:11
night from bonares all the way through to ends up back and Fort Lauderdale because uh so goes right the way down
12:18
near a shy and all that um and they were doing a promotion which had lots of stuff bundled in like they had all
12:24
included you know bundled and stuff and then I just spooked one on Celebrity uh even though I'm get solo on that because
12:29
they were doing second person's travels free promotion and so I effectively got a solo rate uh on that which is a
12:37
reposition when it goes from New York uh through Canada uh to Greenland couple of
12:43
ports in Iceland so that's how I get around the high high prices thing or the
12:48
other thing I've done for example is I've booked a repositioning on Silver sea which I really want to do try their new ships crazy expensive uh normally
12:55
and so I've done again a reposition from Tokyo uh sorry from Seward in Alaska
13:00
which ends up eventually in Tokyo it's an 18 KN with some ports and C again that's half the normal price if I was
13:07
doing kind of a regular Cruise so it's a little bit of playing around with that good to see other people here you got hi
13:12
heti's here which is great so HTI uh is always traveling these days I think H's just back from a great trip which I've been following on uh which is great I
13:20
think HTI I can't remember another trip before the end of this year um I'm sure you probably have Christina is also here
13:26
uh who was on the group Cruise she's been on both group cruises she will be one of our um triple I need to find the
13:32
right words so people who came on the well on the first group cruise and the second group Cruise he called uh the people there was six people on that we
13:39
we called them uh uh I think it was double offenders as it were so there six people there and they got little badges
13:45
um then on the Panama we've got a couple of people who will be triple offenders I need to find a better name for that
13:51
Christine will be one of those and there'll be a lot of uh two-time offenders um coming from the first group
13:57
Crews anyway H uh good to see you here planning an Alaskan cruise for next
14:03
summer I heard glacia Bay is a must absolutely it is essential so thinking of Princess how but open to suggestions
14:10
for a couple in the late 20s which line do you recommend so s this is actually great timing I've actually just um I'm
14:16
working on a video at the moment which was much requested which is uh around cruise lines that are recommend by the
14:24
eight uh main cruising regions in the world of which Alaska is one of those so
14:29
but that video won't be out uh because I've written the script it recorded and it be edited and all that sort of stuff
14:35
that won't be out I think it's scheduled for the N weekend of the 9th of November if I remember correctly um but basically you're right
14:42
I would absolutely focus on cruise lines that go into Alaska going to glacia Bay only six lines are allowed in there
14:49
because only allow two of cruise lines so those six are princess Holland
14:54
America uh uh Norwegian Viking SE born and kot they're they're allowed in so
15:02
you need to focus on those so for late 20s you might want to take a look at some of the Norwegian itineries because you may find those um you know just a
15:10
little bit more vibey a little bit more entertainment wise a little bit more party esque saying that though princess
15:17
in America because of things Alaska you turn find the passenger Mick is not
15:23
atypical so you'll see a lot of families uh multigenerational couples uh groups
15:29
particular on Princess and H America once you get into the sort of the after about sort of June into July August and
15:35
so on um so depending on when you're going but those are the ones I would absolutely absolutely absolutely focus
15:41
on um dor saying she likeso it's really good fun so it's just to remind everybody I'll bring it up it's probably
15:48
going to be over there if you are interested in that let me just bring that up again you see the scan sorry
15:56
anyway it's the cruise Globe uh if you're interest in that remember it's uh it's it's really good fun uh it's not
16:02
going to be launching for a while but you can sign up and you can start getting your cruises in there so when it
16:07
goes live it'll be in there um and it's someone had asked me on my socials when I posted it it is satellite tracking
16:14
data and not uh you know just not just a rough thing that you'd get uh let's have
16:19
a look so I went and scrolled too fast and I've lost the questions here we
16:25
go lots of uh people lots of as usual all around the world Jeff's here as well
16:30
from oh high another uh group Cruiser uh Di and Andrew here which is great uh
16:38
Tom always has a question so let's have a let's have a look and make sure that I've haven't looked at the question in advance Tom across on Facebook just a
16:46
reminder I I did stream this on Facebook and Linkedin uh as well um and it's
16:53
always good when people post questions from Facebook or LinkedIn because I know then it's working because I track it here on my I track here on my iPad to
17:00
make sure that it's working there but I only check it on Facebook uh on YouTube anyway R from our region Japan CR on
17:07
Friday getting over jetl just watch your Cruisers pick the best and wor lines right now video are you making the spreadsheet available we concur with the
17:13
region slippage and ratings okay good point a lot of people ask me that so Tom um I will I should put that in I will
17:19
put that so those people who haven't watched the video why haven't you watched the video so basically what I did um to let you know is I I I spent
17:26
some time I I keep getting asked the question question around has have Cruise Lines got worse so what I did is I spent
17:33
some time looking over the last uh nine months pulled out all the ratings on things like Cruise Critic but I didn't
17:38
only use Cru critic I probably didn't make that clear enough in the video and I looked at other sites like um various
17:44
consumer sites I looked at the uh you know reviews and stuff and all that sort of stuff and I I put on their ratings
17:51
and then I picked up each of the categor so Mass Resort premium small ship luxury Ultra Luxury and then Regional lines uh
17:58
what was actually getting the highest score what was getting the lowest score and of the 25 so so I looked at the 25
18:03
Main English speaking lines or but two actually had seen some slippage in their
18:09
in their ratings which was interesting so so a lot of people ask me around so I will actually I'm going to make a note I
18:15
will put a link uh let me make a look link to spreadsheet into best and worst
18:22
now so I will in in that video I'll put a link to to the my spreadsheet with all
18:28
the calculations in there great other people have signed up um
18:34
John leaving today for a Greek cruise with WinStar have you done those Cruise any tips so John um I haven't done it on
18:40
WinStar I've done it on Azamara and I've done it on Seaborn and I have done I've done one
18:48
other line not not an intensive Qui cruise but some of some of the ports uh
18:54
around there so um the good thing about the windar I suspect is you will go as we did on
19:01
seabo and asamar you get to go into some of the kind of the smaller ports one of the tips that I would have is so you're
19:09
going now so it's actually it's not going to be crazy busy at this time of year so like like cini will be less
19:15
crazy busy but my my one tip would be for Santorini is one of the options if
19:21
you get because you have to tend to the Cent uh if you get to the dark side whichever has to get to and it's really
19:27
busy and you don't want to to walk up the this steep kind of incline to get up
19:32
to uh the city up there town city um don't take the donkeys I think it's very
19:38
cool what they do the donkeys if you don't want to walk up and the C for the cable car is very long one of the things you can do which is really cool is
19:45
there's a basically a shuttle thing you can buy a ticket which is a boat which will then go to is it Ola o uh Town um
19:55
and then you can explore all the town for a bit and then there's a bus so you been explore there a bit so you see that
20:01
which is also one of the places where a lot of people go to watch the sun go down you won't have time to do that on
20:06
your cruises um but then they have a bus that takes you to you know the the top of the classic thing that people go to
20:13
um so it's a little bit less busy and then you can either walk down or come down on the cable car but um that's
20:18
probably my main tip but it's really you know self- exploring is very easy in the Greek Islands um that's probably my main
20:25
tip I do have a video about it so um I will put in this so maybe 10 minutes after
20:32
this it's done if you come back to the video I'll put a link to my Greek island I'm sure there's I'm sure there's many
20:39
many many many many more tips that I should have thought of um order order
20:46
order what is the best cruy for Japan please and the best time of the year to visit okay so I'll talk about the best
20:52
time first of all because I have a slightly different perspective most people would strongly encourage you to
20:58
go go to Japan a cherry blossom time because it's obviously a magical time of the year now it's becoming a little bit
21:05
less easy to predict um what the guys saw in Japan but it's sort of into March
21:10
April time and they sort of with climate change stuff they argue that it's becoming more you know used to be a
21:15
certain time and it's shifting a bit but that's sort of April March April time now I have been to Japan before I
21:21
actually found it quite cold at that time of year I went in October which is the end of summer it's a little bit less
21:27
busy you also the cherry blossoms I mean everywhere in Japan is crazy busy but the weather was great it's not terribly
21:33
boiling hot but it's really still nice and warm um and I really liked going in October so that's sort of the beginning
21:39
really of the season the sort of Japan season um now in terms of the best
21:45
itinerary I would try and focus on one that does sort of a circum navigation if you possibly can so I did similar uh to
21:53
the early questions I did the region one we did more the lower end but it went to iconic places so we got to go ultimately
21:59
from KOB to Osaka we went to Hiroshima went to Nagasaki and so on and so on but
22:05
there are some of which go all the way around so princess and H America and celebrity do those and of course they're
22:11
a little bit more affordable obviously than Regent so one of the things I'm actually doing because I didn't do the full circuit and I mentioned it earlier
22:17
is I'm that um the the cruise I'm doing on Silver sea which goes from seed to
22:23
Tokyo actually will cover some of the other ports on the other side of the island that I didn't see so try and do
22:28
one that does as much of a circum navigation as you possibly can and take a look certainly at this celebrity
22:35
Holland America and princess I tenies even if those Cruise Lines don't appeal to you but that gives you a good sense
22:40
of kind of what is what is what is uh what is available Paul hi good to see you Paul
22:45
always has some challenging questions uh some lines are advertising solar eclipse itineries for summer 2026 will this be a
22:52
big event and which Roots would be the best to pick for this event so Paul I have done a little bit of research solar
22:58
Clips I'm not actually I'm not actually planning to book a solar Clips although I keep feeling I probably should um
23:04
first thing I would say is if you do want to do solar Clips anybody please i' strongly encourage you to book as soon
23:09
as you possibly can they're filling up very fast and the prices are ramping up really fast as ships are filling up um
23:16
so I think it will be a big event the cruise lines you know when they saw the solar event in April of uh last year no
23:24
yes no April of this year when there was one solar e clipse um that happened you know I think Cru were surprised at just
23:31
how popular they were and there's lots ofies I guess out of San Diego and stuff so um they're all over the place now my
23:38
now I did look at the maps and I'm trying to remember this exactly but you know there's lots of my understanding is
23:44
you need to be going a little bit further kind of North if you possibly can uh to do do that so I would
23:51
definitely um look at the further north you can go but Paul I I'm not an expert
23:57
on the solar eclipse uh stuff so I would take a look at it but I know there's some that are more kind of Europe so
24:03
understanding first all you need to be in Europe uh and most of them are kind of around Europe but soon there some are going kind of more north of Norway scard
24:10
way um and a lot of people I know have booked those cruises
24:15
so Harvey saying some very nice things I've been on a cruise find your channel very informative which is very kind of
24:22
each um so KY also asking around uh the
24:29
uh yes so K the important thing to note just coming back to that is I have only looked at the most recent reviews uh so
24:36
I literally went through and got all the most recent reviews so I will do that seol Mt Chen a train question would you
24:43
recommend the blue Trend in South Africa I heard a lot of bad news from this country and and general tips regarding
24:49
safety s involved much and the blue Trend that went out of service for while it is back in um I would actually
24:57
recommend rather than the the Blue Train I would recommend Ros rail I've done Ros rail uh from Cape Town to Victoria uh so
25:05
I and it's incredible so they're old Pullman um coaches which have been
25:11
restored and sort of built on and they they are amazing some of the sections will sometimes use a steam engine now
25:18
but more towards the ptor end so not the whole route now the the train Lines within South Africa are deteriorating so
25:24
it's a little bit erratic um no matter which of them you go on even when we went long time ago um even then the
25:30
lines were a bit erratic um someone who follows me on the channel went on Robert ra quite recently um in fact she did
25:38
that just before I was on a silver sea cruise that she was also on uh and and it was a bit mix stck they didn't get
25:44
everything that they should have done and then do all the of training experiences um so I would definitely uh
25:49
look at Rober rail I mean South Africa is going through lots of change it's got you know a struggling economy they have
25:55
lots of uh they load shedding so uh power outages uh here and there um you
26:03
know because this I guess the infrastructure side but um parts of South Africa are a little bit more risky
26:09
so when we did my South African Cruise so I know South Africa relatively well um but I been there for a long time but
26:15
certainly in some of the ports we were advised that don't go out self you know exploring like in durman for example
26:21
there certain walk of the ship and go self exploring um you know if you go to Cape Town and more the downtown Cape
26:26
Town it's okay so you do need to be a little bit cautious there but it's it's very beautiful very beautiful uh
26:33
country um Jason hi from Olympia W is that what
26:40
Lumber should probably know my geography better anyway let's get on with the question shall we Jason terce felay and
26:46
congestion is the Hallmark of London Heath is there a way to get to Southampton and avoid London Heath thr on international travel well the easiest
26:53
way Jason is of course if you're going coming across from the US is is to go uh
26:59
on um uh que 2 on their scheduled Crossings of course you'll also find
27:05
other ships will do repositionings or they tend to come into more Barcelona or Rome or whatever uh you can also if you
27:11
are doing one of those you can of course go by train there's a Eurostar which goes from Brussels or Paris uh so the
27:18
train under the CH through the channel tunnel into London uh so there are ways around it but it pretty means you know
27:24
doing a transatlantic or uh you know getting into Europe on of those repositionings getting the train or
27:30
whatever up to Barcelona and then uh then doing the uh the Barcelona coming
27:36
to Barcelona wherever getting the train to either Brussels or to Paris and doing the Eurostar would be would be my would
27:43
be my my main tip but you what he he is uh is is is quite a frustrating airport
27:50
more I find it more from the luggage perspective they are pretty slow Andrew is one of our uh uh um people who was on
27:57
the first group Cruise is here um KB in the UK it's interesting I've been asked
28:02
quite a lot about this question recently and I do have it on my list to do as a
28:08
topic um I'm always nervous about it because I feel like I don't know enough about insurance but I can partner with people who do anyway K in the UK have
28:17
you ever made a travel insurance claim was it easy and straightforward to do did they ask lots of detailed questions
28:22
and did you amount of money you expecting so KB I have actually only once done a travel in Insurance claim
28:29
and that was actually not for me it was actually for my dad so just before he
28:35
passed away he had a a cruise booked on Saga and uh then he fell ill or no he he
28:42
wasn't feeling very well and he just wasn't been great and he started to have more tests and things so he didn't really want to go on the cruise um and
28:49
we tried to make the claim and it was this thing was fairly straightforward we
28:54
didn't actually get paid anything because they argued it was linked to a a known condition and the policy had
29:00
wasn't a known condition policy so my learning of course is take take those uh known policies so I haven't had a lot of
29:07
experience that so if anybody else has I know we had some questions last week from Ronda around this um I think a lot
29:13
of it hinges on the The Cruise Line uh sorry the travel insurance itself but I
29:19
certainly found they were quite quick and they were very clear what it was and they clear about saying no so smashing a
29:24
chair got push that away King I do not have any recommendations for Casablanca I'm I have been to Casablanca once on a
29:31
landbased trip I'm going to Casablanca next year in April on my explor 2
29:37
journey I was looking um they haven't listed the excursions I can book yet um
29:42
on the main side I can see the cions they normally offer there so I don't have any unfortunately so if you do if
29:48
you go before me and you have them then please please please oh dor saying it is with Pont so fantastic Pont are great
29:55
Mark is here which is great I hope Mark doesn't mind me saying uh this so he's one of our two time our double what's it
30:01
not um twice group Cruisers and I will be seeing him next week on the uh on the
30:08
uh Silvera Cruise so hope you don't mind me saying that I probably check before I said that um so let's have a look Bills
30:17
fan 72 planning a Japan Cruise what time of the year would you recommend okay so um I think I've I think I've answered
30:23
that there's a lot of lines by the way that do as I mentioned and so a lot of them do the reason I talk about things
30:29
like um uh you know I talk about region which I did H America princess celebrity
30:36
they base ships there so they just pass through I have done it before Queen Mary Tu Queen
30:42
Elizabeth I have done on qod Queen Elizabeth but they don't base their ships there which I feel those lines
30:47
kind of base their ships there Viking also has a fairly period of time as well so that's why I tend to focus lines that
30:53
are there a lot because the crew knows them the people in Port know them they uh toour guides from the toour companies
30:59
get to know them I feel like they're the ones to to Really to really sort of focus on
31:06
um Randy Harbor uh we're thinking about a Norwegian F Cruise in 2026 very nice
31:12
we now' 70s and prefer the luxury lines when's the best time of you to go any other suggestions recommendations so I'm actually going to put make a note here I
31:19
will put uh Randy I will put in the notes of this uh live some links to some
31:24
videos around the Norwegian FS where I'll probably answer that many of these questions much better there but there's
31:30
a few things that I want to do so about maybe 5 10 minutes or whenever come back to that if you ever want to come back by
31:36
the way to my lives um if you go to the channel tip of travels Channel and
31:41
you'll see little tabs there videos shorts lives and you'll find you'll find the past lives there I don't actually
31:46
take all of them uh move them to unlisted and then lots of people kind move them to unlist saying please don't
31:52
do that because people go back and watch old ones so I'll stop doing that anyway um so I'll put a link to the Norwegian
31:58
fud video there um personally Randy ask your question I actually like going
32:04
quite early in the season uh or late in the season so early in the season if you go around sort of May time when The
32:11
Season's starting you tend to as you sell through the fields it's a little bit chil still but you do get quite
32:16
spectacular kind of waterfalls because all the snow in the ice is kind of melting on the top of these big kind of
32:23
mountains and so there's many you know the the waterfalls are cascading down is really spect spacular so I really like
32:29
going at that time of the year it's also not a massively busy time um also the
32:34
other thing I would recommend though is if you want to go later in the year so right at the end of the season obviously going be much colder and if you go
32:41
particularly late because you also have a really good chance at the time of the year you'll have lots of Cruisers which are doing things like they call Hunt the
32:49
Northern Lights obvious you been getting darker much earlier there's you know it's more CH they come out I guess um
32:55
and there's lots of lines that um that we'll do those a little bit later in the season now a lot of lines even the UK
33:01
based line I'm not sure you're based um but lot of the UK lines like Saga uh
33:08
we'll do those as well so some of the small ships Fred Olson we'll do some of those small ships but obviously all the
33:13
other lines do them as as well also take a look at H grutin um and they do some
33:18
guaranteed to see the Northern Lights or your money back um and havila haa which
33:24
is their recently launched competitor is another good one uh to to look at um
33:29
just remind write the word question so I don't miss your questions a couple here that I nearly missed um so Jacob I will
33:38
I'm gonna put um the med Cruz video so
33:45
Jacob resan is fantastic tiny that's a great tin I'm guessing you're going to
33:50
like lerno and stuff like that so get to Florence um any must do excursions in the usual reports I will put um
33:57
video there which is about the ports and the excursions to see and then you can check off the ones you're doing my key
34:03
thing would be is if you're going from Barcelona to Rome I'm hope that you've built in time to see Rome because you
34:09
won't see it otherwise because obviously you at the end uh to explore Rome um so
34:16
you really get to see Rome that would be an absolute must and Barcelona gets time to spend Barcelona but Barcelona Rome
34:22
actually The Hop On Hop of buses are quite good because they'll take all the key sites um there um
34:28
if you're going to lerno or you're going to laspia depending on which Cruise Line you're on
34:34
I would strongly encourage you it's a very long day but to get into Florence and I did do the combined Pisa and
34:39
Florence Excursion but I will leave that there because you can then check off which ports that you are going to um and
34:46
then I dive into the the musly things in in all of those ports so Peter um have
34:51
you heard if USIS uh you know said we said about q2o um it's a little bit in flux at the
34:57
moment um the plan uh is and it might have been the deal might have been
35:02
signed the plan is to take her is she in Philadelphia at the moment or something uh and turn it into a sink it and turn
35:09
it into basically an underwater um sort of Reserve slash diving
35:17
slash like whatever thing so that's the plan there's no plans to save I think
35:22
it's I think she's way past saving this quite quite interesting videos recently where some people got on the ship I mean it's way past saving um uh in reality
35:31
and the plan is to sinko um and I need to Che because I've been fing there a bit of a saga between the money and
35:38
signing the deal but it might have been sad good point that s is making is um there are some of the small lines like
35:44
uncruise ones that are not the major Cruise Lines they get into glacia Bay as as well but the general the main the
35:50
main um the main um the bigger kind of
35:56
cruise lines uh let's have a look uh just want write the word
36:03
question so Jean has a question here let's have a look could you speak about deny boarding due to previous travel my husband traveled to Kosovo and cannot
36:09
get off the river cruise in Serbia understand some Muslim countries don't allow Israel stamps Gina I'm not an
36:15
expert on this but I would say you know what you write is to absolutely check so what I always do so you know for example
36:22
even going to the United States if you have visited Cuba and a few other countries I guess it was introduced
36:29
originally back in the previous um uh um Administration that's been kept by the
36:35
current Administration uh is if you've been to Cuba and a few other countries you cannot come in on an N you have to
36:41
get a specific Visa so it's always important to check um I do know that there's quite a few countries that um
36:49
don't allow Israeli stamps so that's why I think when you go to Israel they give the option of your passport being
36:54
stamped so um you know but not an expert on this but one of the things I would absolutely say is um if you you know you
37:04
you need to do the checks yourself I'm actually working on a video about some of the nightmares I address this in a
37:09
little bit more detail but um the best thing to do always is with those countries that you're going to and if
37:15
you're going to River Cru it's fine because you're going to less countries is take a look at your local government
37:21
travel advy so I use the foreign office um and of course in the US there's the uh US state department travel advisory
37:28
but I suspect the the foreign office one is a good place to start so if you just type in into Google uh FCO fox. Oscar
37:36
and the name of the country so if you typed in Serbia it will tell you what the entry restrictions are any beas or
37:42
if you can't get in with the pass what and that's what I strongly recommend people do and in fact in this video I'm
37:48
making I'm strongly encouraging to always check because you know both Europe and the UK are introducing the
37:54
equivalent of Vesta that you have to have to go into Australia Canada and stuff so changes all the time and really
37:59
importantly if even if you phone the cruise line and they've said you don't need a certain Visa or you don't need a passport or whatever they will still
38:06
refuse entry even if they told you don't need something because at the end of the day they have to have the right document
38:11
if you watched that denied boarding you you know I've given some some examples in
38:16
there Michelle um so our back toback stops in the Rena is there much too
38:22
close to the port and as someone said in the Rana lesso if you if your back toback was in thest
38:28
which I believe is the right would pronounce it I get told off once in the video because I had pronounced Raa and pronounced Trieste right Rena much more
38:35
working peste much more attractive so uh it's a long way though I think it's two
38:40
hours if remember quickly I think they're both roughly about two hours but U if you can if it makes sense you can
38:45
get into Venice I would definitely try and see Venice ah so Beth is in Juno so
38:52
I just saw actually that there was the um the referendum around canceling not canceling not allowing ships in to Juno
38:59
on a Saturday and that got rejected by the residents so there is a slight
39:05
reduction number of ships and people in there on a Saturday but not the big reduction where they're going to try and stop any ship I think it was over 250
39:12
coming in um Audrey I'm makeing little not here
39:17
because I'm going to leave another link to you so I have lots of tips on solar cruising ey Cruise s a lot uh I worked
39:24
out actually to go to spread I love spreadsheets I think I've done now 64 or 65 solo Cruisers so far um so fantastic
39:33
that you want to get out there and do it so so or do what I will do is I will put a link to my solo cruising tips video
39:39
because there's lots and lots and lots of tips around particularly the pricing uh how to choose solo Cruise etc etc so
39:45
I'll leave that in the link to this so again maybe 5 10 minutes after this if you come back uh or next week or
39:51
whenever you want to look at it you should find the link there um but if you want to find the video yourself if you go to the channel my tips of Char's
39:58
Channel you'll see a little search Buton it's really quite small to find if you were search solo there you'll also find
40:03
that video that's probably the best do so Kathy um yeah so know it's so I I
40:12
didn't yes so basically it wasn't 100% solo it wasn't a no solo supplement so
40:17
what I did is they're running a promotion which was 70% off second person but they applied that effectively
40:23
as so effectively was a low solar supplement um so I I when I was because
40:29
what I I obviously work through travel agent Sarah um but i' played around a little bit online I always play around
40:35
online and just look how full lines are and what sort of cabin availability is and can you get the cabins I want and
40:41
whatever and I noticed when I was doing like a running through the booking they would they were giv me a price which
40:46
seemed to be like the price per person so I thought I'd put something in incorrect I thought I'd put in two
40:51
people and it was going to double the price and then I realized when I when I spoke to Sarah is that they were
40:57
applying that 70% reduction so just watching for little promotions so coming back to AUD question those little ticks
41:04
ticks trips and tricks Now tips and tricks and particularly with celebrity
41:09
as people know I get a lot of people get wound up about celebrity as a Solo Traveler is sometimes as a solo you end
41:15
up paying more than two people it sometimes feels like that
41:20
um Manuel oh what a great name Manuel elos men Ross i' sort of not butched
41:28
that too bad you're going on so you're going before me I haven't been on new Crystal one I would thing I would say is
41:35
and if you watch that video around lines that are doing uh really well at the moment is Crystal is doing really well
41:41
I'm just doing a double check I always get confused I'm yeah I'm on crystal Symphony so um I've been on Serenity pre
41:48
uh you know pre old Crystal and I'm going on Symphony uh in February next year so you will beat me before that so
41:55
please please please let me know what you you think of it um people that I know that have been really loved Crystal
42:01
someone who I really trust uh and know really well is quite fussy um absolutely
42:07
loved Crystal I think they were on Symphony as well for quite a long time which was great and Panama of course I
42:14
absolutely love love love love Panama so let's have a look I think I
42:20
saw uh I think I saw Jack I'll come back to Jack's question in a second uh let's
42:26
have a look uh Crystal Symphony S I got uh please do videos on
42:34
promer okay Katie saying comment please to yes so I will do that I've had it on my list for a while Katie and I think
42:41
the title is called something like how to find good fair prices in times of rising prices and I've pulled I've been
42:49
I because I I obsessively anything to do with Cruis I obsess colle obsessively collect so all these folders of all the
42:55
every different promot and one that have worked and haven't worked so I will do that I will I will ramp that up on my
43:01
list of things to do because obviously further to that other question assuming that price is going to stay high some of
43:07
the ducking and Diving and I've done a lot of that planning through into 25 into 26 so I will do that
43:16
um let's have just remind WR the word questions so I don't miss uh Snack Daddy
43:24
oh I love that that's a great a great name Snack Daddy the planning of Cruiser stops in London Tilbury this will be our
43:29
first time visiting the UK do you recommend we travel to London oh absolutely Tilbury is basically a
43:35
Industrial Area um the port is quite cute itself it's like an Al L Deco
43:41
building but there's nothing around in Tilbury it's literally it's an industrial kind of Park land working
43:49
kind of industrial area it's not attractive at all so unless you want to stay on the ship for example I would definitely get into London now it's it's
43:55
not it's quite far it's quite a pain getting I suspect the cruise line will offer you transfers in or or shuttle in
44:02
or but absolutely don't say in Tilbury unless you want to St on the ship because there there's nothing there's
44:08
nothing to to do oh great so some great tips from Thomas Dean's Final on Rena uh
44:14
with giving you some Alternatives thanks very much for that some very good alternatives to then going into uh
44:21
Venice if you don't want to do that toour there toour back so thanks very much for adding that brilliant
44:28
um and rosemy oh thanks very much Rosemary uh so Rosemary is uh I think
44:34
Ros has also got rosem is has one of my ship Captain's uh uh channel members uh
44:42
on the call last night and we talking about her cruises I thought I think I mentioned I was on the cruise with someone and and rosemary is is is the
44:48
most incredible Cruise itinery uh very adventurous lots of mostly Expedition stuff and T remember you've got um uh
44:57
got a uh solo Clips one I can't remember which line it's on so thanks very much for that so Iceland Greenland so it's
45:03
right up that way as as I said there are people selling them which are a little bit more medy so I guess you want to go
45:09
way up there Point way past where this map goes um so actually I do have a
45:17
map no the one up the top there is Japan I say I do have a map um there so let's
45:24
have a look uh right the word question oh here mik
45:30
ask me why why have you never crued Carnival I've never crued Carnival partly because i' haven't got around to it but the main reason is uh I've seen a
45:37
lot of uh YouTube channels have Cruis Carnival but they've Cruis Carnival in
45:42
Europe and I feel like Carnival in Europe is is kind of a different experience and different passages I feel
45:48
like Carnival's real hardland is selling the Caribbean that is what they do you know that's what they created that's
45:54
what they do and I have never synchronized Carnival trip it is on my absolute list to do and I do really want
46:00
to Trav Carnival because obviously they are the biggest cruise line in terms of Passenger numbers in the world so it's
46:06
more I just I haven't got it synchronized I did have one booked Co came along and I've never got it redone
46:12
but I really want to do it in in the Caribbean so I want to link it to a Caribbean cruise because I feel if you're going to do uh Carnival you need
46:18
to do it where there are you know Masters at it cuz I feel watching a lot
46:23
of those ones in Europe you know it's more it just feels like a different a different experience
46:30
um ah bucka boys are on Scenic Eclipse 2 great have a fabulous time
46:37
uh it's very interesting it's um it's it's interesting this whole very mixed experience okay so it's interesting
46:44
because I looked at Scenic Eclipse quite often and and when I was looking at planning going back to Antarctica I I
46:50
looked at and I was not sure about the reviews and stuff and I decided to go back on Silver SE because I really think
46:56
they incredible um Expedition team which is what I really rate and I wanted to try the new the new ship um but Jo it's
47:04
very interesting you know there's a couple of these independent lines it's going to be interesting to see where they kind whether they can actually
47:10
manage without that kind of back office and supply chain stuff and whether these small lines will really you in in the
47:16
over time how they will how they will how they will fare
47:22
um let's have a look Pacer 21 I would like to take my first cruise in fabulous
47:29
I'm very always get very excited when I see First Time Cruises will need to book the cruise and flight from Canada the
47:35
travel agencies gone online or shut down any Cruise Lines who book anything okay so two things here Pacer 21 is um I I
47:43
have a travel agent that I can recommend in Canada who who will be able to do all
47:49
that for you um strongly recommended by um a uh by people in Canada you use them
47:57
rosem me also suggest someone else who's a little bit more kind of expedition Focus this is more general focus so I do
48:02
have a recommendation what I will do is I will put a link to an article where I list the travel agents that are
48:08
recommended in the US Canada UK and Australia so they're a good starting point but you're right Cruise Lines
48:15
generally speaking every Cruise Line will offer you the ability to book a flight and book preest hotels and
48:22
transfers um so they will always offer you that the challenge depending on
48:27
where you're going is sometimes Cru lines give you quite complicated routings to get there though you can
48:33
push back a bit like uh I've done that with Cru before where they've come back and off some bizarre routing and I've
48:38
just said no I want a direct flight to Santiago actually I book Santiago flight myself but um but I want a direct flight
48:45
to Santiago I don't want to go by Madrid and blah blah blah so you can push back often a little bit on the routings but
48:50
all the cruise lines will offer that pace of 21 but if you want a travel agent particularly as a firsttime cruiser I'd encourage you to work with a
48:56
Trav agent um and so I will put that link in the article again uh uh if you
49:02
come back you know probably more than 10 minutes now with a lot of links I'm putting in but if you come back there's
49:07
a link to that article um or if you just go to my blog tips travelers.com and search travel agents it will come up as
49:13
well um but you can do through the cruise L as well but I'd strongly encourage you uh you know there you are
49:20
uh so uh let's have a look another
49:25
question on the [Music] meong uh how to get the most out of a
49:31
Mong River Cru is an Asian travel who's comfortable with traveling alone along maybe that's alone in those countries
49:37
are there particular sections hard to get by on that some of M I mean I think my impression certainly what reason I
49:44
like the meong river Cru is a lot of it was incredibly incredibly Rural and that
49:50
you wouldn't be able to get to my land because these these villages in the middle of absolutely nowhere um which is
49:55
I really enjoy so we give these time little Villages you see local life we go to very small shrines or and temples uh
50:03
which you would never do as on landbased obviously you go to you know you're going to go to Hano to nen um obviously
50:11
to haiman City so those you can obviously do by land but just experiencing those rural communities
50:17
which is where we spend most of our time you can't really do so that would be that would be that would be my
50:23
thought Chris um asking uh your choice for an Alaska cruise I
50:29
have 14 days max so Chris um I would strongly encourage you to look at two
50:34
things one of which is to look at a trip that goes from either seid or Whittier
50:41
down to Vancouver uh which normally are 10 days and then I would add on to that um so in
50:49
this case if you're doing it that way around rather Vancouver up I would then add in a couple of days at one of the
50:55
hotel lodges uh one of the cruise line lodges uh in the Denali so that will
51:01
take you up to 14 days so you'll find any Cruise Lines will sell you packages um so I would look at that so you get a combination of seeing a bit of land
51:07
you're probably going to see more wildlife and that 10day cruise um so the advantage of the 10day cruise rather
51:12
than the Inside passage which will go sort of uh normally Mo most of them go Seattle and back or Vancouver and back
51:18
is you you spend much more time in Alaska you're going to see much more places a little bit further north for
51:24
example and that would be the one choice now if you want to be even more adventurous and you're less fuss about
51:30
seeing Skagway Juno ketan you know those sort of iconic cities consider the
51:36
14-day H grutin Expedition cruise I did look at that um and it's very it's very
51:44
exciting it's much more Expedition so much more remote parts around Alaska uh
51:51
much more stuff in zodiac touring and stuff but that's they are that's two weeks long and it's very it's a very
51:57
different uh very different experience uh alen Cola Smith in janary
52:04
25 and Artic Cru America does a sh get close enough to places to see gving um
52:10
to be honest with I haven't been on a sale by crew so obviously if you go on
52:15
America there'll be no Landings There Are Rules around how close you can get to any of the daas now I actually
52:22
haven't seen a lot of carving to be honest in Antarctica I've saw much more carving in Alka than I did in Antarctica
52:28
so a lot of it will depend on what time of year you're going on that so January 25 kind of the peak of Summer I guess so
52:36
maybe there's a little bit more of that I saw very limited caring we did see some Neco niiko Bay um and stuff but if
52:44
you go on the Expedition ship you you you know you get off on the zodiacs and you'll be on there and stuff so I don't
52:49
know I to honestly I do not know how close they get but there are very strict rules about how close the ships can get
52:55
um and um in reality we didn't see massive amount of glaciers because it's more just I
53:02
stuff there's a few glaciers in in some of these places um so I don't to Long saying I don't know butting at the time
53:09
where it's warmest um and I just don't I can't remember the rule I know that the zodiacs I think was 100 meters or 20
53:15
meters away from the the of the fronts of glaciers and the ship would be was
53:21
even further back from that um so certainly if they allowed get as close
53:27
as you can get uh when we went to place like Hubbard you can see it uh but not
53:33
as well as you can obviously if you're going on Zodiacs and things and things like that because they do get closer um let's have a
53:43
look [Music] uh fine so marjerie hopefully that
53:49
answers the question is a good way to get to Southampton from the US so the best way is Queen Mary 2 which goes into
53:55
Southampton is is the best way so there's some great more tips coming through through RNA which is which is
54:02
great um so thanks thanks for that Tony hopefully you you heard my stuff on
54:07
Japan my tips on Japan um I will there a lot of things I
54:12
putting I will put a link to my Japan video there I talk a lot in that video around um how you can actually feel much
54:18
more confident going self touring because Japan has changed a lot in kind of the time between I went there um and
54:26
also I do talk a lot about the importance of planning excursions a lot of people when I was in Japan were complaining that they Bor of seeing
54:33
shrines it's like but you only book excursions are see shrines so it's around how do you mix up a lot of that
54:39
um that so I'll put a link to the my Japan video where I dive into those tips in much more detail as I said maybe 10
54:46
or 15 minutes after this um those links will be there and of course you can come back um there Jeff saying I think your
54:53
group cruises your solo cruises uh so who is a channel member being a long-term Channel member what are your
55:00
thoughts on round the world Cruisers um so Jack first of all appreciate you being a member secondly I love the idea
55:06
of round the world cruises although I'm I'm slightly um evolving of them I I
55:11
went on half of the world Cruise Queen Victoria from South to Sydney absolutely loved it didn't want to get off but we
55:17
had other plans we were seeing friends then we were actually going up ironically to join Queen Elizabeth out
55:22
of Hong Kong around Japan linked to other questions around Japan but um
55:27
uh I love the idea of getting on the ship in one place and going all around the world however um the downside with
55:33
round the world cruises uh is there is a lot of Cay generally so you know they'll do it maybe in three months but to get
55:39
if you do it true around the world so point to point all the way around the world by definition there's a lot of ceday so actually you don't call on that
55:46
many ports you might find you're only calling in three months on maybe 30 ports or so so you don't get to see that
55:51
many ports now we had a great time Market you know sold his business and before he went back in house he so his
55:59
Law phone before he went back in house as a lawyer he took a year out I me so actually unwinding was great I'm much
56:05
more inclined these days because I want to do a circum navigation but it's to pick cruise lines and tinies which
56:11
effectively create a world Cruise so I can just dive into places much more so for example you know do a circum
56:17
navigation around South America which then gets of South America and do the line that does that right but then maybe
56:23
pick up another thing which goes uh you know does Hawaii up to Japan you up to
56:29
Alaska so it actually creat a combination and pick the right line and itinerary so I see many more places I
56:35
feel like so I have looked at others you know there are some for example Oceania which used to do on Sig I think they're
56:41
moving to Vista they they do a basically half a year round World Cruise which then does see go you know much sees many
56:48
more ports because they have much longer to get round and that's the balance I think uh that's that's the balance
56:54
between the two so so I I I um I love the idea of doing it but I would do a
57:00
little bit more pick mix because I feel if you're going to go around the world there's two things you can do you can take off saying I've been all the way around the world um and I was shocked
57:06
actually on that world Cruise there was quite a few people that had been on the world Cruise a couple of times so obviously had lots of money um and
57:12
weren't getting off in even the few ports of corner they're like I've been to pan City before and it's like oh I
57:18
don't want to do that I want to be I want to every place to be obviously something you might back I want to be every place to be incredibly exciting so
57:24
Kathy on the point of celebrity I hope that that does oh ken thank you so you
57:29
will beat me to casan so I'm definitely will be following your videos so those who don't know Ken go cruising uh has a
57:36
very active on socials and has a YouTube channel so I'll definitely be watching uh watching those tips but yes let let
57:43
me know um let's have a look we running out time I'll quickly make sure that we
57:48
do that um rank what part of the Caribbean is the best okay this this is
57:54
quite a hard question to ask answer I personally like the Southern Caribbean
58:00
uh versus the eastern and western I found the eastern and western parts of Caribbean they're much more obviously by definition much more tourists because
58:06
they're close to Florida especially so you can do those in a 7-Day itinerary um
58:12
and they are normally lots of Mega ships really packed ports once you get down further south you and you're getting
58:18
into St Martin obviously it's these places are busy Barbados St Lucia even if you go right
58:24
down uh you know to Kira stuff I really like that because I feel they're a little bit more a little bit I mean
58:31
they're obviously very touristy still but they are uh just I there much more of the history and the culture to see as
58:37
well of great Beach andu so I like the southern part of of the of the Caribbean
58:43
um definitely uh Laura o Royal Caribbean allur the he
58:50
transatlantic on October the 26 25 wow very soon what time what time is is your
58:56
preference to schedule invocation Laura I like to go early early early so I like
59:01
to kind of go get there at 11:00 whatever just as they're open rattl the doors open the doors great thing was Ro
59:08
Caribbean I'm not sure where that one's sting out I'm guessing FL I'm not sure
59:13
um but generally there you know just phenomenal at embarking people and really fast I get I get there really
59:19
early get on get you know get my e- master out the way uh you know often the
59:24
cabins aren't ready because obviously they already lunchtime so don't try not take too much huggage1996
59:56
kind of uh tend to do beth making the point just reinforcing the point is the reason that they don't let you get to
1:00:02
close is is is carving creates effectively A Min tsunami so you definitely that's why even the ships are
1:00:08
f up definitely for for the for the the Zodiac um let's have a look margerie
1:00:16
follow I should give up question can fly from the US to Southampton to B and to cont will be flying light W here
1:00:23
impossible M uh I mean hro is not that bad I wouldn't be too worried about hro
1:00:30
uh in reality it's not that bad uh if you're flying from the US if you're flying on the US line you're probably
1:00:35
going to terminal three uh which is actually pretty efficient uh I I feel back recently on American or something I
1:00:42
found that pretty efficient I wouldn't I wouldn't fret about it he is not that bad so don't worry about don't don't
1:00:47
worry about it we might have over it this I found particularly with ba with the bag Hadler termin five they can be
1:00:54
really really slow coming out but I found Terminal 3 which I'm guessing you might not you might be flying British
1:00:59
Airways but if you're flying any of the US lines uh or even you know Delta America and stuff they all go have
1:01:05
Terminal 3 and I find that pretty pretty efficient Tracy what is your preferred Cru line for an Iceland Greenland Cruise
1:01:11
Tracy this a little bit depends on what you're looking for so um I would
1:01:17
personally if if your budget and time allows look at if you can get on an
1:01:23
expedition Cruise because an expedition cruise is going to go to parts of Iceland and Greenland that you may not
1:01:29
do on a regular cruise ship so I actually did on on haac Lloyd it was amazing but that was an expedition thing
1:01:35
you can off you can do that on uh like Seaborn on their expedition ships they will do that silver sea does it as well
1:01:41
I think um but if you're looking to go uh on a more classic cruise line so you don't want all the cost of expedition
1:01:47
and you want to do more traditional kind of excursions not Zodiacs there's a lot of cruise lines that do it I've done
1:01:53
I've done Iceland on a couple of then I've done it on Saga I've done it on voy Antiquity which doesn't really exist
1:02:00
anymore um and I went there on WinStar and actually I'm going there uh on
1:02:07
Celebrity um soon no 26 I'm going there so I think there a couple lines that do
1:02:13
really well I would look at lines at base ships there so you find a lot of the smaller ship lines like Viking
1:02:18
Oceania I'm not sure if asamara off hand uh does uh certainly and I think people
1:02:25
in my do but but but some of the smaller ship lines they base the ship for during
1:02:31
the season there and again it's a little bit like they know it incredibly well now Iceland cruises are expensive um
1:02:38
because both Iceland and green are very expensive so going a smaller ship kind of multiplies it uh if that from a
1:02:45
budget perspective is too much there is some quite interesting itties I was looking at recently on home America and
1:02:51
I think celebrities so but I would try and go those smaller ships Advantage if you go on something like Viking or Oceania they tend to have quite a good
1:02:57
enrichment program so you're also going to learn quite a lot about the you know the places as well so that that is quite
1:03:04
a big that that that's definitely quite quite a big plus thanks so much for the
1:03:09
questions we have churned through the questions we've kind of run out of time just a reminder next week I will be in Santiago I will be doing uh a live
1:03:16
stream all things going to plan at 4M Santiago time which I think is going to
1:03:21
be 3:00 uh eastern time I think it's going to be noon Pacific time I think it's going to be either 8 or 7:00
1:03:27
depending on the time changes so do keep a look at next Sunday just to double check the times so I will uh as soon as
1:03:33
I get into San dieago double check the times and adjust those um uh maybe I'll
1:03:39
do another quick reminder uh about that cruise remind about the cruise Globe if
1:03:44
that interests you as well it's really good fun doesn't cost you anything give that a go the cruise Globe so I will um
1:03:50
hope you have safe travels as my travels go well I will see you next week this week's video by by the way is incredibly
1:03:57
popular that came out yesterday it's all about staying on board so if you want that do that and then I will go and put
1:04:02
those links in and uh see you hopefully uh next week take care
