It's kind of become an influencer. People are riveted by Rosie or Astoria, but whatever you call her, as Fox 5's Jessica Formosa shows us, Turkey Watch 2025 is definitely in full effect

Rosie or Astoria, however you like to call her, the wild turkey is now roaming the streets of the Upper East Side

Like a true New Yorker, she's trying to mind her own business, yet the attention is all on her

We're just fascinated that there's a turkey here. For a second time Wednesday, the NYPD tried to capture the female bird

but she wasn't having it, giving them some serious New York tood

Astoria made a run for it and then took flight, landing on a tree branch across the street on East 66th Street right off 3rd Avenue

These captures are causing her stress. They're tiring her out, they're making her nervous

and they're also discouraging her from coming down to the ground. After some time, she flew back across the street, landing in this big green tree

It's quite a sight. She's a beautiful bird, turning many heads. I feel bad because it alone and hopefully she doesn get stuck in New York and hurt by a car or anything Astoria has been taking a few strolls around town resting eating and even taking a nap

She's in great shape. Biggest concern is traffic. She's been in an urban environment for a year now

You see, she's a local celebrity who arrived in the Big Apple last year

She seems to have made Roosevelt Island home for the last 11 months

before flying over the East River sometime in the last week. She's had a great life there, but now is the time that she's wandering

maybe looking for a mate, and she showed up on Sunday in Manhattan

The girl is on a mission trying to find love in the concrete jungle

which could be difficult. I guess she got a little impatient as she went to Manhattan thinking that there's somebody here for her

But there isn't, unfortunately. And David says the best thing to do is to leave her alone, don't get too close
