Guilt And Food: Two Reasons Why Don't Go Together

Feb 20, 2023
Two reasons why food should not make you feel guilty. 1) Because guilt means you intentionally were bad 2) Because guilt means you did something bad to others For example, you lied to a friend. This action should make you feel guilty! And if you harmed your friend, then feeling guilty is also an appropriate response feelings! But with food there are no bad intentions. Were you trying to harm your friend when you overate? No! And let's be real, intentionally lying is bad, but you are not INTENTIONALLY eating too much food! You want to stop eating so much, right? That's your intention! You feel guilty because you THINK your intention was to overeat. You THINK your intention is bad. That's why you feel guilty - because you think your intention WAS to overeat. But this is not your true intention. It's like a blind person who trips because they didn't see a pothole.
