oh well I have to clip this this is most good okay we are good and we are live let's get
0:17
some people in here
0:27
all right everybody it says clean week editor
0:34
Charles Morgan uh thank you for joining us today we have nine rolls of silver
0:40
coins that we're gonna break open uh two of these are in Bank wrap rolls
0:46
which are probably not original but they may have been done fairly
0:51
fairly recently but you know one of the roles that definitely has toners on the end and we have some silver plastic roll
1:00
holders some of these are probably 20 or 30 years old uh coins look like they're
1:05
typically in brilliant uncirculated condition there are two Mercury Dime rolls amongst these rolls which uh just
1:14
judging on the the sides of the coins looks like there's going to be a probably many state rolls and and it
1:20
looks like they're a combination of toned and untwn so there could be some Sliders in there I don't know anyway we
1:26
picked these up at our local uh coin shop and uh we brought them here we're gonna crack them open we're gonna go
1:31
through the coins one by one and uh kind of give you my insight as to whether these are coins uh that I would send in
1:39
for grading and uh let's uh let's have that let's see how we're doing here so
1:45
um gonna throw out my coin camera and let me get out a picture for you and the first roll we're going to do
1:52
let's just let's start with the most uh most recent rolls and then we're going to go back in time all right
1:57
all right so the first the first rolls we have right here uh these look like uh these are 40 Silver uh coins the side of
2:06
the rolls mark 68ds um let me get a tool or something here
2:11
to open this up because uh my fingers are not the best of that
2:18
all right I have a hard one
2:25
yeah these are these are really slightly rolled it's like that all right
2:32
kind of try to gently get these out of here all right all right so let's see all right
2:39
all right the first one here let's see if you can zoom in a little tighter on that coin
2:46
it's possible all right so these coins have a pretty good luster
2:53
I mean that's uh definitely an original coin with original uh roll toning on it
2:59
and it does have some scratches and is there any way bringing in more
3:04
net or is that are we pushing our limit here on our camera I'm gonna go back with this a little bit
3:10
there we go yeah so on a coin like this I would say that in a little scratch you see in the
3:18
reflection there on the cheek it's like right near the ear that would probably make me not want to submit the coin for
3:25
grading you may you may not find the uh oops you may not find the toning all that attractive and you see that the
3:32
reverse was protected so there is no so Tony speak of in their verse and that
3:37
coin is probably gonna would probably grade out 63 or so because of the uh the scratch
3:43
and oh yeah better transition over to it my bad folks let me show you that coin
3:49
again so here we go
3:54
we're gonna look at that It's Tricky for us uh when we're doing this live because like uh the streaming
4:00
software and the YouTube software are different there's a delay so there you go like I said on the cheek
4:08
you see it in the light there's a little scratch that runs basically at a diagonal
4:14
all right our next coin here is a 19 they're all 1968 D's all right
4:22
so this one see this one's a little brighter
4:27
but it still has a little you know you see some coin hits and you can see in the light all that little uh chuffy
4:34
reflective uh scratches and beans on it for these coins You're Gonna Want oops
4:40
let me just put another one on it for these coins you're going to want you know very clean Fields very sharp
4:46
luster or strong luster you're going to want minimal contact marks or abrasions
4:52
you know and if there's when you when you rotate the coin under incandescent light and you see like thin uh scratches
5:00
that are highly reflective uh the coin graders are definitely going to see that and they're going to knock the coin down
5:07
you know all right so I'll see the next one
5:17
so again you see very reflective but there are many deep
5:24
scratches on this coin there's one right below Liberty the I and Liberty
5:29
near the T and the Y you know so this is what a typical uncirculated coin would look like but
5:36
not gradable so uh not the kind of coin you want to spend 20 or 30 dollars on
5:42
now each of these Kennedy half dollars is made out of 40 Silver so they do have a intrinsic value beyond the face value
5:49
for sure but you know getting a coin grade it is a is an expensive ordeal and you don't
5:55
want to do that on coins that are not super premium
6:02
okay this coin again this really scruffy around the Y
6:10
you can see it a lot of little like a
6:16
cross-hatching of scratches very thin scratches
6:25
there's also a pretty deep hit behind the eye going at a diagonal into the
6:32
hair you can see so so far I think these coins would
6:38
probably grade like 63. I think that's pretty pretty much a
6:44
great I would apply to these so far tiny Rim hit between T and Y you can see
6:49
like the the reeds Struck it they're like little Softly imparted Reed it marks
7:04
this coin is probably better than any of the ones we've looked at so far
7:11
and I would say this coin is probably safely a 65 unless the reverse is bad
7:21
yeah so this I would put in my gem pile but I unless the coin's like a strong 66
7:30
or 7 competitor I don't know if I personally invest the money get a graded but I would you know I'd sequester it
7:36
from the rest of them just put it in a two by two flip and too many
7:42
too many marks between that t and Y you see it's like a very thin hairline and then there's some scruffiness under the
7:48
L
7:53
you know and this uh these coins went into the big Hopper after they were struck you know they had come into contact with other coins and then if
8:00
they're the farther down they were in the hopper the heavier the interaction was right
8:10
here's another one
8:19
and the Kennedy's face looks pretty good tiny the tiny tiny hit and the cheek
8:27
if I can get you to see it between the ear and the in the jawline
8:32
really small there again there are some minor abrasions under l
8:39
you can see it and on the reverse
8:45
we're looking at a coin that is fairly clean there's no big hits on the eagle
8:50
or on the shield the federal Shield is usually a place where you see a lot of hits so this would be another coin that I'll
8:57
qualify it qualify as a gym and we'll put that aside
9:05
okay and here's another coin notice this 80 this one has two little
9:11
tiny hits I can see already I can see two tiny hits on the uh
9:16
cheek area um the fields on this are cleaner than
9:22
most um you're seeing some you know basically dye polishing lines
9:29
but overall pretty clean I mean they are reflecting uh reflecting a few little tiny tiny hair
9:36
lines but looking at this I see another Jimmy coin here
9:43
so the 68d or 246 million 951 930 okay
9:50
half dollar struck this was in that transitional period where the mint was still uh retaining some silver content
9:57
and the coins and um yeah this one just doesn't have
10:02
good I appeal and uh so uh Denver Mint was the only
10:08
meant that struck a half hours this year they were not really circulating um this was a period of great silver
10:14
coin extraction on the part of regular people and on the part of the government they were they were sorting these things
10:22
out of circulation so you couldn't have them anymore there's uh some more scruffiness on the
10:28
jaw and the neck you can kind of make it out and the image it has uh some
10:35
splotchy toning around the eye on Liberty
10:42
see it's a little bit discolored there folks there's a looks like a long hairline
10:48
near the date oh you gotta look at that under the loop real quick
10:58
yeah that's a secure I believe that's a scratch I just want to make sure that that's on
11:04
a die scratch
11:13
I think these are actual scratches on the coin surface
11:19
I'm not struck in so I put that in my my throwaway pile
11:25
all right let's see we got here all right
11:32
Kennedy's looking okay A little a couple hairlines needling hairlines
11:39
and we're seeing a lot of scruffiness in the fields again unfortunately you know these are going to limit the grades so
11:45
like when you have 200 million coins of go through uh you're you don't wanna
11:50
make compromises all right so this call this coin is definitely you can tell it's a little
11:57
duller than the other coins so right off the gate it's got some
12:05
eye pill issues you know this is a typical choice in
12:12
circulated kind of coin
12:17
okay it's got some tarnish around the Y and Liberty
12:26
and it looks like uh some other spots too uh just tarnish on the cheek right under
12:33
the eye you can make it out that sort of stuff would dip out but
12:39
this coin isn't really all that all that attractive
12:44
so I would skip that so any of these coins that I'm kind of putting away I mean I think all of these
12:49
fall under the ms63 kind of category um unless they have like just a really
12:54
bad scratch on them you know here's another one it's just
13:01
kind of really mediocre typical I would just say typical for the date although this does have um some you you can see
13:09
here that it looks like milky coloration in the in this light under certain types
13:15
of light that that coloration will look a little bit rust colored uh and that's just like I said that's just the
13:21
surfaces reacting to the environment surfaces reacting to the environment in
13:27
a colorful pleasing way help add value to a coin but typical toning is more or
13:33
less tarnish all right this coin is cleaner than most that we've seen
13:41
you can see just a little a little chuffiness like the fields aren't
13:46
Flawless but they kind of they kind of Sparkle more out of uh
13:53
you know just how smooth they are and there's you know whatever kind of
14:00
imparted by the dyes kind of reflective areas
14:07
I would say that this coin is probably safely in the ms-66 category 65 66 but probably a 66. this
14:16
might be the nicest one of the the rolls so far
14:24
all right let me check again check the mint marks they're all these
14:29
there's no there's no other these well yeah yeah for the RPMs yeah I can't I can't really uh can't really do all the
14:36
RPMs and keep it interesting because uh I'll take the coin off the screen
14:41
all right another one with it's on the cheek
14:53
so so far out of a roll of uh 20 coins here we're looking at four that are
14:59
probably Jim and the rest of our choice
15:08
I got three left on this roll
15:13
yeah oh yeah that one's uh that was really bagged up in the cheek you see it and uh
15:21
that kind of comes across yeah Timor
15:29
this has got a little bit of color uh forming probably from a
15:34
copper spot or contact Mark with the paper between the six and the eight not attractive and there's uh
15:41
there's a you can see that head on the cheek that reflects like a black spot
15:46
you know this is a another 2-3 kind of coin and last one here
15:55
let's see I get this guy
16:01
you know the long there's like a long scratch down the kind of bisecting the
16:07
head yeah so we're left with four four Jimmy coins
16:12
four Jimmy coins that I'm gonna put in uh I'm going to put in a two by two flips
16:17
and the rest of these are Choice uncirculated maybe you saw these uh on eBay or
16:25
at your local coin show for you know slight premium over a spot and
16:31
be done with it all right let's go here
16:38
on our second our second roll here we're looking at some 67s and you can
16:43
see you should be able to see this this one this one has some in-roll toning
16:50
and uh so does this one a little bit it's it's mellow it's not
16:55
this isn't like PPQ toning but it's a it's at least something
17:01
a characteristic
17:07
I'm using a plectrum to uh open these rolls
17:21
all right beautiful let's start here
17:27
this is the uh this is that endral toner the toning uh in person
17:35
comes across as a very pleasing uh uh orange and pleasing sort of a gold and
17:44
orange color a little bit of russet is super it's not fully developed but it
17:49
will probably continue to tone okay on the obverse
17:57
we have a coin that is fairly clean here
18:02
I would think that a coin like this I would probably grade 65 66.
18:10
um there's a let me look under under Loop because then that reflection it looks like it might be a scratching though
18:17
let's see that's tiny tiny bag mark on the cheek
18:22
high in the cheek um diflow lines plenty of those in the
18:28
fields um you know one hit or two tiny hits on the
18:35
jaw but under normal observation
18:41
I would say this is probably a 65-66 and it has that toning so that adds to the
18:47
potential all right let's look here and it's got a fairly fairly clean
18:56
Kennedy head and uh just a little too many scratches for my tastes in the fields
19:03
so it's a choice here's what
19:09
a little better in the fields
19:16
he's got a lot of flash folks you know for calling this this old
19:23
almost 60 years old that's pretty bright
19:38
I'd say this is probably in the uh four or five category put that on the side too
19:45
here's that end roll toner the other one all right
19:51
one of the things about toning especially when you get something like this is that it can hide problems
19:57
so I always recommend when you get these toners that you look at them through glass because
20:04
they're not going to be reflecting light in the same way so there's a carbon spot behind the the
20:11
neck um the toning is pretty nice there's one
20:16
hit on the jaw that would be caught by greater there's another hit on the bus truncation
20:24
um there are some curve
20:32
there are some curved um uh dye cracks
20:39
in the hair there's
20:44
at least one long one which is really interesting
20:50
and I'm just double checking that that's a that's a credit that's a raised
20:55
yeah that's raised so yeah there was a cracked eye on this
21:01
one yeah I would probably definitely send this one to get graded
21:07
um let's just uh my guess is this this is probably a 66.
21:16
but uh it's got decent color and um
21:21
yeah I like this color this might be the nicest coin we've looked at today all right
21:31
it's another one I think these 67s are looking better to me
21:37
than the uh 66's although but you see when I turn it you see that light reflecting off of uh
21:44
below the T and the Y you can barely make it out uh that's a little bit of a
21:52
gruffiness due to a contact marks with other coins you sort of dig into the coins almost
21:58
like a geiger counter I mean not a guy what's the uh thing that measures earthquakes
22:04
that is a good it's a Richter Scale that's what it looks like all right
22:13
all right there's another one all right
22:20
more or contact marks all over the fields
22:25
so I'm going to call that a choice bu 6364.
22:35
so the 67s do not carry mint mark um you see more 67 coins and certified
22:42
holders this one's got like a hit right in the kind of like
22:50
the temple so you see most of the certified ones
22:56
are from special mint sets these are bu coins these are not from special mint sets and as such in my opinion
23:04
um I would think that the 65 667 coins in Mid-State and the higher end are a
23:10
little bit sleepy I mean you are looking at a coin that has hundreds of thousands struck
23:18
I think I wrote this down you'll look at 295 I'm sorry 295 million
23:24
struck so quite a few were made right way more Kennedy half dollars were made than the first few years than all of the
23:32
Franklin half dollar series but if people don't care about a coin
23:37
long enough you get that McCoy principle or the thing nobody saved is the thing that ends up being valuable
23:44
and uh you know I think 65 6 and 7 Washington
23:50
quarters dimes and half dollars are a little bit on the slippery side for me
23:59
I'm gonna try to Center this here okay
24:08
what do you guys think you like this one
24:33
all right next one
24:46
yes it doesn't have great eye appeals kind of average
24:56
so we get we see a little bit of Tony starting around the rim between RT and Y it's a rusted colored right at the edge
25:05
turns a little gold as it gets in the coin the rest of the coin is brilliant Kennedy's completely clean no scratches
25:14
on Kennedy fields are clean except for a
25:19
thin horizontal line that you see right in front of the mouth
25:25
which is probably the kiss of death on a coin like this that's not a focal area it's so thin
25:31
that it's hard to see unless you have it under the right light you would probably miss this
25:37
if you were looking at the coin at a coin show and didn't have a lamp which is a shame because this would this
25:43
would trick you into thinking it was like a six or better when it's uh that's probably a
25:49
four all right we're getting there we are getting there here's another one
25:57
a lot of uh polish marks on this coin I can see
26:03
another clean Kennedy head rotating in the rotating and trying to find them trying to find that hidden
26:09
trap it's gonna stop this coin from grading well anyways uh
26:15
little hits behind the neck just just a beautiful uh crisscrossing
26:23
Patchwork of dye polish lines on this die like all over
26:31
I would probably just I would probably just keep that clean out of the sheer love of having all that
26:40
all that die work on it all right
26:57
all right I see more dye polish signs on this one a couple scratches on the jaw
27:06
and let's see look at our glass
27:16
is probably a four or four plus close to gym coin
27:22
might even be a five but it's not it's not a great coin it's
27:28
just kind of we're on a mill for the grade
27:33
oh what's this yuck got a big kind of
27:39
corrosion spot or something on the w
27:45
ow that's a it's this foul looking coin I don't know if that's like
27:51
contamination from some something on the surface or whatever I don't you want to know
28:00
yeah so it has quite a few kind of curvilinear hits on it
28:14
see them reflect out between the I and the B
28:23
so kill that one
28:29
it's got a little bit of uh golden tarnish developing on this
28:35
okay
28:43
and a deep hit right in front of the mouth I think no let's not hit at all that's just the
28:49
uh splotchy toning that's taking over it looks like it hit I think the way that this thing is this
28:56
color you know it would probably hurt when it got graded because it comes across as a little ugly
29:06
probably could dip that out
29:14
not a fan of Dipping coins by the way but it is a fairly common practice
29:21
I don't think I've ever been to a coin shop that didn't have uh coin processing equipment or fluids
29:38
let's see this one's got that one hit on the jaw it's really
29:43
deep it's like that wavy Rim markings yeah so that one stops that otherwise
29:50
nice and let's see
29:59
mm-hmm that's a decent one
30:04
is that a hit on the uh I don't know uh so I hit near the wing
30:10
and there's some like copper spots that are corroding yeah
30:16
coins have all the instruments of their own destruction already embedded in them which is why you have to store them in
30:22
the right environment and be lucky sometimes that the coins aren't already on the way down
30:29
all right too many hits on the face
30:35
and last one guys all right
30:41
let's see
30:46
you see that hair all these like reflective areas on the hair those are those are bag marks
30:54
yeah so like I said when a coin reflects back at you like this and Light
30:59
you know you want to look out on our glass but typically that's because the coin the Metal's been hit and all these
31:05
irregular uh directions and then it's just reflecting the light back to you the silver
31:12
all right so in this this roll we're looking at goodness uh let's see four eight twelve
31:19
thirteen fourteen so we had six coins from the 67 roll that you know
31:26
are worth at least just sorting out and looking at considering later usually when I'm submitting coins like modern
31:32
coins for Circ from roles like this for uh grading I'll have my first sort which
31:38
is to kind of get rid of the obvious ones that are problematic and then I'll have my better sort where
31:45
I I put them all in two by two mylar flips safe flips or something like that and then I'll just look at them and I'll
31:50
look at them a few times until I kind of made up my mind because uh to me at that
31:56
point it's not so much that the grades I'm worried about I'm looking at the money how much money I'm going to spend
32:02
to get the coins graded and whether or not I think it's worth it I'm always willing to accept the risk of losing
32:07
some money on a couple coins but especially if I like the coins and for whatever reason I want them in a holder
32:14
but I don't want to I don't want to invest a ton of money just for the sake of doing it
32:19
so I think about it that way all right so now we have a roll of
32:25
quarters there was an end roll toner I'll get to that when I get to the bottom
32:32
so this is a 64 uh these
32:38
uh and so the 64d Washington quarters uh 704 million struck over the course of
32:45
multiple years pretty much acquainted as languished as an unpopular date uh and the weird thing
32:54
is because they were already doing the mint sets in the uh plastic uh lens
32:59
holders that you don't see a lot of super toners like you would with the Doublemint set Yours so I'll I'll
33:06
definitely be interested in seeing what's going on with that I know uh Brent Pogue had a just a really
33:11
beautiful 64d toner when when he sold his uh 20th
33:16
century set through or stack sold as 20th century set all right uh there are varieties of
33:24
these that you know you can pull if you use the Cherry Pickers guide as a reference there are other variety of
33:30
this in other places have information and how tight can you get on these
33:35
let's see
33:43
yeah we're just kind of trial and error here on these
33:49
so what I'm looking for here is I don't want chuffs on Washington's forehead uh
33:54
on the raised part of his bust where where it cuts off near the date
33:59
um on the cheek these are places especially in clad coins you're going to see a lot of problems
34:04
um you're also going to want to look for uh you know how strong the Bluster is
34:10
for I appeal um the coin doesn't have to have a Ultra strong luster to be gradable but as far
34:18
as like getting top dollar for it you know if it's a 66 and it looks dull you know you're not gonna end up getting
34:23
great money for it um
34:29
you know this comes out like a hit on the jaw hit in the hair
34:37
more hits in the hair overall though this is definitely like a 60 probably
34:44
probably clearly a 65. I think we're gonna see these these kind
34:49
of grade up at 65 because of uh what's typical for a Washington quarters
34:55
for this period all right pretty much more the same I I
35:02
don't really think that you know you really need to look at these under glass that's definitely a 65 of subdued kind
35:08
of a subdued luster I think you're going to need to tighten that um that doesn't look clear to me
35:15
yeah it won't yeah
35:21
okay this is a flash Air One
35:33
yeah definitely like this coin this coin this coin is probably a shot 66 66 Plus
35:39
with the sign It's gotta hit over top of the motto
35:53
you can kind of make it out there in that reflection
36:05
I'm gonna hit over the motto on this one too
36:12
you got that macro setting on that camera right yeah okay
36:25
all right the thing about this the luster is so tight
36:31
it's it's like swirling and satiny and it really reflects it's it's so
36:37
dense that it's like almost like it's like killing the light it's not like sending it right right back this one has an old fingerprint
36:45
over the motto that's a toned mildly rust color
36:56
I think I think the market has become much more forgiving of of finger fingerprints especially on some older
37:03
coins but mileage may vary thin hairline uh
37:10
scratch behind the hair that you can see it breaks the luster there's some contact marks near the L and the nose
37:19
Washington's fairly clean though you know these are you know like I said these are 65s
37:25
definitely Jimmy coins okay
37:31
another one this one's super clean
37:39
one hit on the cheek that's the only thing that's stopping this coin from getting a 66 older one hit on the cheek
37:46
it's too bad
37:52
uh roles like this uh I don't know pay about 250 a roll
38:03
let's see
38:12
no this is probably 64. what's up dude a little bit less subdued on the luster a little too many hairline
38:19
scratches in the fields there's a hit right there on the uh
38:27
pointed out for my collection there's a hit right there on the neckline
38:32
which is a visible and reflects light so that's going to be a problem
38:39
on the f70 nice coins like that would be the thing that would kill it for me I wouldn't I wouldn't bother at that point
38:47
we're really trying to tighten in this Focus we're gonna have a fun time with these Mercury dimes
38:55
oops
39:00
all right
39:10
yeah some curved everything curved scratches near the near the Liberty
39:16
yeah these have been consistently clean with like maybe one thing one
39:21
thing holding them back each time but we haven't seen like any luster that just pops out that just says you know this is
39:28
super flashy and you know maybe maybe a dealer may look at this and say I'm going to dip these to make you know kind
39:34
of clean them up a little bit but I like I said it's not I don't like that so I wouldn't
39:42
I like you know getting coins as they are but uh but I can say for for 250 dollars
39:48
oh no this is on the other hand this is like super luster
39:54
sorry keep on centering it on you guys but this is this is like top tier luster here
40:01
really really nice and glassy I like this a lot it's not oops not
40:08
perfect coin [Music] um yeah but this this is a this is a 66 all
40:15
day really nice flashy coin if you got that coin you bought that coin on eBay
40:22
you would be happy that's another one
40:32
another super clean coin and one hit on the cheek
40:38
a jaw otherwise that's a 65.
40:53
this is really hammered really nice
41:02
you got a lot of uh dive a lot of like dye polished lines all over this coin
41:13
I would say this is this is probably a 65 Plus 66
41:24
and another super shiny really lustrous coin
41:29
highly reflective really really pretty coin
41:38
yeah that's another 66.
41:44
ah this is just a nice roll line whoever cracked this out and put in this
41:49
tube I mean these are These are nice
41:56
I mean they're not they're not like perfect coins this is a this is a good 250 dollars
42:04
I mean I could see each of these coins selling for 10 12 bucks each you know raw and
42:11
I took them to coin show I think people would pick these coins
42:22
yeah it's got a little bit too much chatter behind the air kind of holds that one back the
42:29
washing's clean man like I said I'm seeing all the reflections here on my side and uh
42:36
you know like right away one second after even looking at it I see scratches right here and behind Liberty
42:43
I don't even have to look that close I see scratches in my jawline and uh
42:48
and the cheek you know so you know you already know that you're grade limited when you see something right away and on we've
42:56
already gone through you know we're about halfway through the roll and I've already pulled a dollar and fifty cents
43:01
worth of coins that are going to grade 65 6. you know that's you know we're doing well on this role
43:08
they're not always going to be like this all right so this one
43:14
big long scratch right here right there that's too much
43:20
um too much for me
43:27
we really are saving my toner for less and put at the bottom of the other stack
43:34
all right it's like a Dye gouge in the
43:39
neck and head some hair
43:45
about 64s oh this one's got booming luster can you
43:51
see that flashy this is the brightest definitely the brightest coin here so far
43:59
definitely the brightest this one's like blast white and unfortunately unfortunately it's got
44:05
a stinking hits on the cheek but there's a curved
44:10
and it looks like in the reflection like when you're just looking at it it looks like a
44:16
scratch under in the date area see if you can get in on that
44:25
so it looks you can see it here it looks like it's scratched where the bust ends up to Godly truss that is a lengthy
44:33
curved die scratch that's a raised scratch that was in the die that was
44:39
imparted on the coin when it was struck but unfortunately for a great the grade
44:44
limiting hit there grade limiting hit on the cheek this is I I would say this is a Jimmy coin
44:50
on luster uh luster alone I mean it's an exceptional
44:57
whatever grade it's in it's an exceptional coin for that grade unless they overgraded this coin but this is
45:03
like I would keep this going just because it looks it looks great for what it is
45:11
you know this is why you have dupes in your collection
45:16
it's like a reason for everything yeah you're probably just gonna have to
45:21
like dial in every one of these coins I think because of the characteristics
45:27
you know this has got nice luster not as nice as the one we just looked at
45:33
this very glassy it's got a thin a thin die crack
45:39
starting at the bust
45:49
that's pretty nice though I'll put that in the flip
45:56
all right it's kind of like a so-so coin although it's really clean
46:06
let's see yeah forehead forehead hit Qi kit some
46:12
corrosion on the cheek hit on the bus truncation
46:17
yeah
46:22
all right this one's reflects some hits on the on the neck
46:28
and mirror l i and Livery there's like a cluster of reflection
46:35
and in front of the nose all focal areas that you would see immediately
46:42
the greater would see it immediately too a little hit and cluster of hits below
46:48
the motto on this one
46:57
and the one below the model it's really deep that would be great limiting
47:14
that's pretty nice let's see
47:19
a little corrosion under t a little contact Mark on the neck where
47:24
they check the chin meets and the jaw I mean scratching the jaw
47:31
what would I create this coin I think this coin is definitely like a 65 though
47:40
it's another nice one this is just a good roll man this is a roll of gems I mean there are a couple
47:46
that didn't make it for for sure but oh what's going on here
47:55
it's like a huh wow
48:03
ass struck right super polished
48:09
between F and a of America all the way down the the Wing area
48:15
like they they repaired this die and it left almost like a proof finish
48:24
yeah look I don't know if you can make this out can you can you dial on that one in
48:31
like this area between
48:37
F and a all the way down the wing tip it's it's like blast white like in the
48:45
right light it's just it's just you can see oh we almost had it
48:54
he's coming he almost had there man you got it you gotta see this
49:02
like you see it right there just hold it right there I'll try to wiggle it so on your screen
49:08
you should see that it's like almost like a black like a lack of reflection between the F
49:15
and a and what that is is just highly polished
49:22
like a streak a highly polished mirror between those
49:28
I thought I thought it was like some gash or something in the metal but it's like a polished line
49:35
crazy nice I I think I think that and that that
49:41
other Corner that's super lesser uh coins I like the most out of this bowl
49:51
all right let's see if we can dial this one in
49:58
so what did you think guys if you bought this roll for 250 bucks would you be happy
50:08
what do you think
50:13
all right now the next one here
50:26
it's got a long long scratch here on the neck going horizontally
50:39
and we're down to our last two bucks on this one
50:51
that's pretty Cooling real smooth real smooth
50:57
one one hit in the hair one hit in the neck and uh n and T and R and Trust are
51:07
almost completely like mutilated the dye is like starting to wear and those letters are breaking down
51:14
so they're not they're not really they're really flat
51:24
okay this one has uh a bunch of chat uh scattered scratches behind the neck
51:31
you can kind of make them out while I wiggle it in white you see that
51:37
would stop these from grading as high as they would otherwise
51:49
this one's fairly decent let's see we go
51:55
in and got a dress is starting to flatten out we've got no real appreciable hits in
52:01
the face except for one tiny tick at the chin
52:07
I'm going to die polish lines it's probably a good 65 66
52:19
it's great feeling real coins you know not having to have them in the holder all the time you know it's just good to
52:24
handle this stuff you know once I get them in the flips
52:30
I'm going to sit there and go through the varieties uh on my own time since that's like a
52:35
real kind of a study thing to do and sometimes you end up finding things that you know you weren't expecting you don't
52:41
know what they are either it's another gym
52:49
oh this is really really super lustrous
52:58
yeah yeah definitely definitely a 66.
53:05
maybe a 66 Plus on that one let's see what 66 uh
53:11
or 66 plus coins going for 90 bucks
53:17
if it makes it in a seven holder you're looking at three hundred dollars just keep that in mind I paid 250 for
53:24
the roll so so this has some
53:31
tiny Marks here around the neck in the front
53:37
of your what is that part here is that where your jugular vein is
53:47
kind of make them out there you see them they're all tiny all right next
54:00
just a star field of tiny scratches around the uh like Liberty
54:06
little a lot of stuff going on in Washington's
54:13
face that's probably like a three
54:19
or three coins away from that super toner General toning
54:26
again they really dialed it up in this luster
54:33
hmm this is earlier in the die the motto is
54:38
completely intact not flattened out at all um
54:44
it's probably a four or five put it aside though it's kind of between your coat
54:51
have so many nice ones to look at leave that one to the next guy
54:58
see it's got a lengthy scratch across the neck here that's going to stop it from grating Jim
55:04
all right let's look at this guy what do you think folks
55:10
you got your end roll toner right there you see that russet green
55:15
kind of a peacocky color um really pretty it looks like
55:23
maybe a fingerprint from a long time ago is at the top I'm not mistaken
55:28
I think when it comes to Turners I think people don't care so much it's kind of like a canceled stamp one
55:35
way to look at it it does have uh unfortunately it does have like two fairly significant scratches like one
55:41
above the eyebrow and one in the hair um
55:48
oh that color though I think this would definitely I think
55:54
this would let's go back into Focus so I think I think with that color and the
55:59
fact that the uh the flattened area on the metal is is concealed you know you're probably looking at a
56:06
definitely a 65 on this coin definitely something I would put in a
56:12
flip I probably I think you could sell this even in a five holder I think you could probably sell this for about a hundred dollars
56:19
so on the basis of that and what we have in this role I mean I think
56:25
you know after we take our grading fees and everything I think we definitely would have turned
56:30
a profit on this roll of coins so I'm going to take the uh take these
56:35
loose ones and we'll put them back in their tube and um we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna go
56:42
out to some half dollars we'll come back to the second roll of quarters I have we'll do that a little later because I
56:47
have dollars to bigger and maybe more visually interesting
56:55
so what do you think what do you guys think of that role how much how much do you think that role is worth
57:00
what would you have paid for it because you paid 350 would you have gone 100 over what
57:07
what they cost because of that toner or would you have uh
57:13
paid less would you have tried to just buy some singles and not not worry about the role
57:21
all right let's see which one we're gonna look at now
57:26
let's hit this one all right and this roll here it says 54.
57:36
54. doesn't say anything else is 54.
57:50
54 unk I'm not going to really be able to go
57:56
through all these for full Bell lines and keep it interesting obviously full Bell lines are
58:02
multipliers for the issue they'll make the coin worth significantly more money I'm more concerned at first with the
58:10
just the the eye peel and the grade if the coins are worth sending in without the full Bell lines it's just a bonus
58:17
when you get them um Franklin half dollars tend to have
58:22
mushy strikes um there you have
58:27
they are large coins with a lot of space where hits can be
58:33
clearly visible and uh
58:41
but I think they are beautiful points I really enjoy them
58:52
especially when they're nice and original like this all right
59:09
say yeah I said anytime you see a reflection in
59:16
the field uh this shouldn't be there like it's a sign of a hit on the coin
59:23
this one has hits on the front of the nose and behind the hair Franklin you know that that Bell is gonna
59:31
not conceal any hits you know that's going to always be something you're going to be careful about
59:37
you're trying to get these coins graded this is a definitely a choice uncirculated coin
59:45
not a gym next one
59:52
is that long thin hit that's going to like add a diagonal behind Franklin's hair
59:57
definitely grade limiting not what you want to see
1:00:16
um yes it's just generally too chuffy
1:00:22
still looking at fours I haven't seen a gym yet seen a gym yet
1:00:36
it's definitely a brighter coin here
1:00:43
hmm I like this one
1:00:49
sapped I feel like there's just too much
1:00:55
coin Collision on the face
1:01:01
you know it's just uh I'm looking at it under a loop here and it's it's like uh
1:01:08
flattening spots where it came into contact with other coins and there's some remarks scattered here or there
1:01:14
whoops I think that that coin would get knocked down probably to a four even though it's nice enough
1:01:39
it's gonna hit the Bell line or the belly right
1:01:49
Franklin half dollar is a great beginner coin series um if you're a beginner I would not
1:01:56
focus too much on the ultra high-end coins but you can put a nice 1948 to
1:02:02
1963 set together and you would have a complete set of the last completely 90
1:02:08
silver coin half dollar there are also I think marked the beginning of what I would consider the
1:02:15
real modern period of proof sets when the 1950 Proof Set came back when the
1:02:21
proof sets came back in 1950 they had the Franklin half dollar Washington quarter the Roosevelt dime Jefferson
1:02:28
nickel and the Lincoln cent so all the presidential or Founding Father portraits or they were all there
1:02:36
um it is interesting that there are no proof 48 or 49 Franklin's it's kind of a
1:02:44
shame this one looks Jimmy
1:02:53
Franklin's pretty clean got some tiny tiny tiny tiny stuff going
1:02:58
on there um is a fingerprint on the corner of the
1:03:04
motto and one hit near the bus transition
1:03:10
looks like a little we'll see the Bell lines I'm only gonna do this one I'm gonna do them all uh well too bad too bad
1:03:18
there's a hit right across the belt line three hits it right across the belt lines one of them actually looks like
1:03:24
the reverse Roman numeral for 12. it's like two tiny hash marks and a hit that's like in the form of an X
1:03:32
it's kind of crazy you see a lot of die post lines on this coin though
1:03:38
yeah unfortunately no no full Bell line for us but it is it is probably a 65.
1:03:46
right there we go that's another one
1:03:51
Scott got hits all over the place you got little tiny scratches here got one there I got these
1:03:58
definitely a 63 coin
1:04:23
you see that scratch right here guys
1:04:51
this one's got very deep watery luster and because it's so deep and watery it
1:04:58
is reflecting everything that that's happened to it and he hit it's all there
1:05:04
question is is there enough of this coin to pull it up to five
1:05:17
I don't think so but because the Lesser is so strong
1:05:22
this is the kind of coin I would probably give a second thought to
1:05:29
wait and
1:05:44
whatever grade it is is a wow wow coin for whatever the grade is
1:05:58
there's tiny hits all in here
1:06:35
put that aside
1:06:47
has lost a lot of abrasions over here
1:06:54
many abrasions
1:07:00
uh listen like that other one that had that super amount of luster on it but you just see that thing it's just
1:07:06
like dripping it looks like it's wet
1:07:14
it's just like playing with the light that's how much it's got going on but you can see as I rotate it
1:07:23
look at the jaw in the face you see that unfortunately that's like a
1:07:29
problem for this coin but you know this is in all likelihood this would be graded
1:07:34
like a four or a five but it's uh it's a really strong
1:07:40
strike I mean that thing is hammered hammer
1:07:52
let's see all right
1:08:01
Let's see we got here
1:08:19
yeah it's got fingerprints on your their in
1:08:25
just kind of an unremarkable strike I don't like that interested in that one
1:08:31
and this one this one's scruffy too you see all those
1:08:39
sort of star field of tiny tiny dings
1:08:44
I mean this is this is like probably what your typical coin was you know when you opened that roll back in the
1:08:51
1954 you're getting these bags and rolls or whatever your bank and coins are new
1:08:56
for the year and they're not all perfect they're you know a mixture of really well struck totally gorgeous
1:09:03
coins and coins with a little bit of you know issues and you know they were made
1:09:09
to be spent they weren't made to be like turned into Museum art pieces okay so here's uh
1:09:16
some ticks here some ticks here enough enough to kind of
1:09:22
stop me from really being that interested in it
1:09:27
and we got here you see a pretty deep hit in the hair
1:09:33
the top of the head cheek area you can kind of see it throw it there
1:09:39
side discolored on the uh nine o'clock position down to about six
1:09:50
two more
1:09:56
all right more more scratches in front of
1:10:01
Franklin's news
1:10:06
some lines behind him those are likely die scratches though
1:10:13
yeah those are those are imparted on the coin but the stuff going on in front of his face is
1:10:20
legitimate damage all right let's see what's going on with
1:10:25
this guy I see just too many
1:10:33
too many hits
1:10:38
all right so on that one Franklin half dollars how am I going to put aside we had a roll of 20 coins and I held on to
1:10:45
three and uh I think that's pretty that's that should be indicative of what I would
1:10:50
expect for this series unless you get some super roll that hasn't really been handled you know this uh plastic tube
1:10:58
and uh I would say the the age of the tape and
1:11:03
everything here what do you think you think it's probably put away in the early 80s
1:11:09
I don't think so
1:11:16
it says that early 80s tape Color Vibe I don't know why I'm basing that on but
1:11:23
the just the age of everything and the great what's the and it says halves on the top
1:11:30
and I don't see the brand let's see Whitman pubco so this is a old women
1:11:37
an old Whitman style uh coin soup so I guess we could we could probably date it that way
1:11:42
all right this is a partial roll of 56 PS and it
1:11:48
says 75 dollars on it this is what the seller wanted for them
1:11:54
back in the day
1:12:01
so the 56p coins
1:12:07
be used they sell for about 25 to 30 bucks better grades get up to about 80 bucks full Bell lines you get more or
1:12:14
saw 64 full Bell lines for 90 dollars uh when I was looking at what the dealer
1:12:21
wanted for these coins and I didn't suspect I get them since
1:12:26
it's a partial role It's gotta just got scratched right
1:12:32
there it's too much
1:12:37
oh all right so here we go
1:12:51
right above n there's a scratch you can see you can see another one halfway to
1:12:57
the middle of his head in the Allen Liberty there is some stuff going on in his hair
1:13:15
yeah these these don't look that good oh this one's terrible absolutely
1:13:20
terrible oh God oh no what happened
1:13:28
what happened Ben
1:13:33
yeah this one's bad too yeah I'd be bummed out if I bought a
1:13:39
roll of these bum down now looking at them you see you
1:13:45
see how the uh on this one like the strike is so mushy that the hair is all
1:13:52
kind of blurred together I mean it's I don't think any of the other ones have
1:13:58
been this like poorly struck I wonder what the Bell looks like oh my God
1:14:05
the Bell lines are in uh vg8 yeah so this is a really bad strike
1:14:17
all four with you all right so here we go
1:14:24
more chatter on the cheek you see in the reflection
1:14:32
um I keep drawing please try to grab this thing yeah there's tiny
1:14:38
hits around the rim there like I said when you whenever you're looking at whenever you're looking at
1:14:44
like a graded Franklin half dollar like especially one that's like a 66 FPL
1:14:49
or something like that just know that the process of getting that coin in your hands took somebody countless hours
1:14:56
digging through available set Smith sets rolls or whatever to try to find coins
1:15:03
that were worth sending in because most of these coins get rejected because they're just
1:15:08
you know they can they can look nice additionally but then you just have the one thing
1:15:13
one thing yeah any winners I would say you you scroll on my uh
1:15:19
let's see what let's see this is my winter pile so far I'm counting
1:15:27
uh so far three Franklin half dollars um there's three four five six seven
1:15:33
eight nine let's just say 10 in Kennedy's and you're gonna say it's one two
1:15:38
well 13 Washington quarters so far of coins I would put aside and say you
1:15:45
know maybe I'm gonna consider getting them graded but I I would do a second sort I wouldn't just blindly go in but
1:15:53
uh for what these things cost uh we we had an incredible Washington quarter roll 64 D Washington quarter roll which
1:16:00
turned out a great toner and uh some really flashy coins uh we had a pretty
1:16:08
decent 67 roll 54 uh Franklin role that was kind of a
1:16:14
bust and this this one looks like it's going to be a bus too so let's answer your question Big
1:16:19
Winners I don't know but we're definitely getting we're definitely getting our money back all
1:16:25
right so I got these two here we're going back to live live we're doing it live
1:16:32
so I have two two last ones of this 56th roll neither of us are really compelling
1:16:39
I think you know maybe this this guy this guy might be like a fourth or you know but
1:16:47
we're not we're not grading fours folks uh not if it costs
1:16:56
all right it says partial roll kind of a dead put that aside
1:17:02
now this this role might interest some of you folks
1:17:07
it says right there 10 1955 Bugs Bunny
1:17:17
so these are bye Clash Franklin half dollars
1:17:22
look at that one I got a little bit of color on that one here
1:17:31
on that
1:17:42
a little call right there
1:17:48
so the color I would describe it as being purple Cobalt a little bit of
1:17:55
kind of a kind of like a asparagus kind of green color
1:18:11
and the other side is brilliant so I wonder if this came out of a one of
1:18:17
the knit sets let me see I'm just going to verify this actually as a bug's bunny by the way
1:18:25
yeah absolutely it's got that jagged
1:18:30
it sort of looks like like I said like a rabbit's tooth sticking out or uh I don't know like a bear trap or
1:18:37
something but yeah that's that's a cool coin definitely would send that in to get
1:18:42
graded and you know might come back like a four four plus but you know
1:18:48
if you're gonna get a Bugs Bunny coin with uh with that kind of touting I mean
1:18:54
there's a coin out there for everybody all right
1:19:00
just pointing out before we start this guy's got like a carbon spot on the Bell you
1:19:08
not feeling that yeah that Bugs Bunny going on full
1:19:14
full force chopping those carrots
1:19:24
and another one and this one's fairly
1:19:29
would be fairly Jimmy but it's got that scratch I think that's a scratches make sure
1:19:34
that's not color let's see what is that um
1:19:42
well that's Tony that's not a scratch I thought it was a scratch that thin line behind the head
1:19:49
if you can make out is toning
1:20:00
I put that one aside just to kind of see what's going on
1:20:05
see what these bugs bunnies are telling oops sorry see what these bugs bunnies are selling for in like 63 64.
1:20:12
all right this one's got sort of some speckled
1:20:18
russet color turning on the reverse
1:20:23
and like I said let me grab my plectrum here we got definitely got some light thin hairline
1:20:28
hits over here this area
1:20:35
and in front of Franklin's face and they they do reflect light pretty
1:20:40
good so like a greater would see that right away
1:20:46
and
1:20:55
this is this one's pretty decent
1:21:00
let's see one contact Mark in the hair fields are pretty good
1:21:10
Bugs Bunny element is very clear
1:21:17
let me see I'm gonna reverse this plate pretty clean too
1:21:28
it's kind of tricky to like keep these in the center of the screen when you're looking at the coin
1:21:35
let's see
1:21:46
I don't think this would make full Bell line
1:22:15
another Choice nearly gym coin
1:22:30
you had two sets and capital holders that's cool did you uh did you grab the coins
1:22:36
yourself were they uncirculated are they circulated
1:22:47
since I actually got pretty strong lines on it
1:23:04
and it's borderline
1:23:22
a little you see a little bit scruffy see that big Mark right in front of his
1:23:27
face
1:23:37
yeah one does it
1:23:49
some bees some AU
1:23:59
a little bit of Tony starting between uh right right north of the end and then Cowboy Trust
1:24:05
and you can see a little bit of contact marks there too
1:24:14
when grading Franklin half dollars obviously you know the full Bell lines are going to be one of those significant factors
1:24:19
the grade however is determined mostly by the offers
1:24:29
a lot of uh a lot of stuff going on here
1:24:39
and also here and here
1:24:48
so if this was just a 55 roll and we score with all these bugs bunnies
1:24:54
that would have been the pick the pick of the day right but these are all marked as Bugs Bunnies
1:25:00
and of The Bugs Bunnies we only have maybe three coins that are probably
1:25:07
worth sending in one of those was that toner that was really pretty
1:25:12
all right yeah roll 58d quarters next
1:25:20
and uh this one has some very pastel
1:25:25
toning here this came out of recently came out of a roll that roll fell apart so it was put in a tube
1:25:35
and these are 58 D quarters 78 million
1:25:41
124 900 struck I'm not a coin encyclopedia I wrote that down before we
1:25:47
went live I don't remember those numbers by heart
1:25:53
okay I'm going to go through these a little quicker the second I see something that
1:25:58
would stop it from grinning upgrading gem I'll point it out and I'll move on hits right there right there in North
1:26:05
Liberty okay
1:26:10
this one's got I would call this uh average surfaces
1:26:18
it was probably a 65 I'll put it put it aside for now this one is exhibiting some slight
1:26:25
mellowing of color uh
1:26:33
it is really chuffy though next
1:26:42
I'm gonna do right here I want to make sure I can read your comments guys while we're doing this because I don't want to miss them
1:26:49
yeah so you bought them complete you know what I would say it's like you know it's fun also to uh to get a set or get a capital
1:26:57
holder of anything really that you know you can complete and then pick them out
1:27:03
one by one you know maybe uh maybe a buffalo nickel set or something would be cool right
1:27:12
heck at this point even starting from 1986 and going on to when the mint
1:27:17
started to over complicate silver eagles might be kind of cool if you buy them individually
1:27:23
put them in a capital holder you know if you've actually not even that you know I would get a Dansko album right I get a
1:27:29
Dansko album I would go and get bullion silver eagles and I would put them in there and then I
1:27:36
would see what happened to them in about 10 years time when they all started to tone up because they're you know almost
1:27:42
pure silver and those non-archival albums
1:27:48
oh this one's okay this is this is an okay quarter let's
1:27:53
see
1:28:04
I'm just seeing a lot of these coins having like pretty decent you know a lot of these coins have what I would call a
1:28:10
pretty decent looking uh eye appeal you know
1:28:20
I mean I wouldn't be surprised if that was a 66.
1:28:31
this one this one does have scratches like uh around here you know that's gonna stop
1:28:37
it from grading higher than Jim I would say like a bu role of Washington
1:28:43
quarters they they really should be Jimmy like when you buy them I don't think that that's too much to ask for
1:28:49
this one's got hit right there
1:28:55
oh this one's starting to turn a little bit you know usually when we think of these
1:29:00
washing toners you know we're thinking about coins that were in this double knit sets but you know the
1:29:06
silver over a period of time I mean it starts to tarnish I remember when I was a Youngster
1:29:12
playing a trumpet I had a silver trumpet and it was like the most brilliant thing
1:29:17
I'd ever seen the first day I had it and then about a week later it was already dull
1:29:23
so I mean I'm pretty sure that that's just kind of plated silver it wasn't even full one
1:29:31
silver so 90 silver coin is gonna tarnish
1:29:38
yeah I'm not seeing anything that's over five yet on this roll so far except for that first coin
1:29:45
I'll put aside yeah decent
1:29:52
decent what's wrong with you yeah cheek cheek forehead
1:29:59
Achilles yellow Washington quarter cheek in the forehead you know all those uh videos you see where they have like a
1:30:06
a watching Corner that's worth you know boatloads of money they don't point out
1:30:11
how hard it is to get one without hits in the cheek and the forehead they typically leave that tiny detail
1:30:18
out
1:30:26
hmm yeah it's kind of mediocre
1:30:42
Lester is really muted on these
1:31:08
all right this one's starting to turn color too but it's not quite there yet it's got a some scratches here that
1:31:15
reflect the light pretty pretty good and uh some scattered uh abrasion here
1:31:23
that would stop it from really grating out all right let's I see the just the
1:31:32
over time and the luster just gets muted and muted more muted
1:31:38
this one is just really kind of this is a really ugly
1:31:43
coin um
1:31:51
this is not so hot either you have so many coins that are just really flashy you just don't want to
1:31:58
settle you know it's not that the it's not like these are rare now that one's kind of like heavily polished looking
1:32:04
let me look at this under Loop
1:32:10
and I can't I can't say for sure
1:32:16
oh a lot of dye polish marks
1:32:27
and they coin all almost looks cleaned but
1:32:35
I don't I'm just gonna look at this hourglass real quick
1:32:41
again I don't necessarily see any evidence that this thing's been cleaned but it's
1:32:47
so reflective
1:33:02
hmm
1:33:07
yeah it's kind of the coin the coin is no better than ms64
1:33:13
but it's got a look to it just hold it aside so I can just kind of study it later
1:33:27
yeah just kind of running out one of the mill coins
1:33:38
be you sometimes can mean brilliant uncirculated can sometimes mean Barely Used depending on the Integrity of the
1:33:45
seller
1:33:52
flashy here
1:33:57
all right we're about halfway through this roll yeah that one's like okay yucky
1:34:10
so don't really pop but it's you know it's
1:34:19
you know the 58's uh getting a getting a Washington quarter and 66 and 58 it's not a hard task
1:34:25
you see quite a bit of them they're not that they're not that scarce uh a lot of the coins you're going to see are from those double mint sets
1:34:32
getting them in b rolls um it's so it's so it's so quite common but
1:34:38
you know the roll hunting craze was really going nuts in the late 50s to the
1:34:43
early 60s the mint killed it when they went to the when they got abandoned silver coins uh
1:34:50
the World Market more or less collapsed and um
1:34:57
you know a lot of these things ended up in the melting pots when the Hunt Brothers were cornering the silver
1:35:02
market and uh the 79 to 1980 um dealers are had so much silver to
1:35:10
sell and dump that they weren't even really looking at the dates I wouldn't be surprised if some of the
1:35:15
scarcer dates got thrown in there too just because people were in such a hurry to make like
1:35:22
whatever the prevailing spot was and it was so it was so volatile and then it then it collapsed
1:35:31
yeah so just going through these really quickly because that makes sense to just grade them all
1:35:37
for you if you can't really see them that clearly
1:35:42
uh yeah yeah nothing nothing really in this uh these
1:35:49
um and I I don't actually think these are all from one role because
1:35:56
some of these things are If I Didn't Know Better I think that they would have been
1:36:03
so this one's got some corrosion on the between the S and the T yeah
1:36:09
yeah I think I think these are mixed in with something and it could have been mixed together a
1:36:15
long time ago like this could have been a bankroll like this is starting to turn blue
1:36:21
right there could have been like a bankroll back in the day maybe had a couple coins that
1:36:28
were cidery you know for one of these Washington quarters to become you know a you
1:36:34
it would have had to circulate for a while maybe 90 days something like that you know
1:36:45
yeah so this role was kind of a kind of a non-vet in my opinion to be honest put this away
1:36:52
all right so we have three rolls left we'll break out the uh
1:36:58
Franklin High Fellers next we have two rolls of Mercury dimes uh
1:37:04
which are look like their missed date rolls and uh then as a bonus video we'll we'll
1:37:09
put this up in a uh later maybe next week I have a roll of 1963 nickels and
1:37:15
an original bankroll and a roll of I don't know what date these are
1:37:21
1950s [Music] uh what oh goodness
1:37:28
58 D's so you got a roll of 58d cents got a roll of uh
1:37:34
63 uh nickels uh and uh we'll uh we'll bust those out
1:37:39
on a video we'll upload that video it won't do those live um but that'll be a little bonus
1:37:45
unrolling for you or what they had at the coin shop when we stopped by uh we'll we'll go back to the point shop in
1:37:51
a couple weeks see what else they have we also will have some videos for you we have
1:37:57
Gettysburg half dollar comparison between a
1:38:04
ms65 from is that P suggestion you see Hubert the Gettysburg
1:38:12
I think it was a 65 from uh PCGS probably NGC or NGC I'm sorry 65
1:38:21
from AGC and uh an ms-68 from uh sex
1:38:28
um so how about that we'll see which one you guys like better we have a 1907 over
1:38:33
7 vp002 uh gold 10 we have a saint Gods
1:38:40
gold 10 uh we have a 1835 half cent and 1901
1:38:47
gold 10 where we have uh New Jersey copper uh and some other coins that
1:38:54
we're gonna do videos in the next week uh and then also what's a really interesting you hand me that 2x2 flip my
1:39:02
friend colleague Rob ezerman sent me a whole bunch of uh hot lips Morgan
1:39:08
dollars they're all uh circulated coins but he has an original article on hot lips uh coins uh that he's submitted to
1:39:17
us that we will be putting together and Publishing in the next week
1:39:22
and we also have a series of columns that we're going to publish from Roger
1:39:29
Burdette original articles from Roger Burdette it'll start appearing on clean week starting next week
1:39:36
so we got all that for you actually really cool all right so let's look here
1:39:42
so we're looking at a 56 Franklin half dollars
1:39:54
yep really flashy
1:40:05
what I'm looking for here is High eye appeal limited abrasions
1:40:11
something that I can something I can justify the grading fees
1:40:18
and then before I do my final sword I will see how close they are full Bell lines
1:40:24
but if they aren't that good I'll also look for the possibility of putting them
1:40:30
in two by two flips so maybe you know some youngsters who are collecting can
1:40:35
have some affordable 90 silver coins to get them started the Franklin half dollar series is a great
1:40:41
starter series for collectors of all ages and frankly I frankly Franklin E I
1:40:48
think they are one of the coolest half dollar series you can collect you know
1:40:56
these just too many tiny ticks for me for grading
1:41:06
and this was more or less Problem free I just don't really
1:41:12
enjoy the I'm gonna peel on that see
1:41:19
all right and it's got
1:41:26
a little bit here and there all right
1:41:38
all right I'm gonna I'm gonna speed this up um Hubert's telling me that our camera battery is a little low so I'll
1:41:44
tell you what I'm gonna do for you folks so we're going to wrap this video up here after we get through this roll
1:41:51
and we will come back Monday on these uh
1:41:57
these dimes
1:42:02
all right not seeing any oh that's a nice one
1:42:08
all right so that's a pretty nice one
1:42:15
probably a nice 65.
1:42:23
a little bit a little bit of something going on in the face I'll look at that closer before I send it in
1:42:39
oh this has got too much stuff in the field there for sure
1:42:45
and we got two more here I like that these are really flashy I mean they are
1:42:50
definitely flashy looking
1:42:58
flashy and undipped and the last two here
1:43:09
really cool really cool
1:43:19
so folks uh that's going to wrap it up you know we got the uh the battery thing I don't want to cut out on you guys but
1:43:24
um yeah I mean it was cool I mean for all the rolls that we ended up buying you know we we had a lot of really nice coins there
1:43:31
were no like you know no games being played with these roles of course you see how difficult it is to get the
1:43:36
Franklin half dollars uh and uh full gem uh much less the full Bell lines so like
1:43:42
I said I look at you know when you're collecting these modern coins and you're buying them with these uh these you know
1:43:48
these high-end grades of these high-end holders what you're saving yourself is the trial and error of sending the coins
1:43:54
in to get graded yourself you're saving yourself the time you know you have to find roles you have to buy the rolls the
1:44:01
dealer isn't going to let you Cherry uh your way through it uh and then once you get the handful of coins that you like
1:44:08
then you have to dispose of the remainder right so uh you know you're gonna have a lot of time investment
1:44:15
um you know and and with these 20th century coins you're dealing with coins that you know many dealers aren't really
1:44:22
invested in a lot of energy or time in they're selling the higher end or more expensive classic coins so you know
1:44:29
you're have a thinner Market of who who's going to buy them from you but it's a great gateway drug you know to
1:44:35
get into classic coins is to collect mid-century 20th century coins I think there's nothing wrong with having that
1:44:42
as your specialty and um you know I really I put a set of
1:44:47
toner silver washing quarters together which I had a ton of fun uh doing about eight or ten years ago I even enjoyed
1:44:55
finding the 32d and the 32s with toning because I always think of those key dates as being kind of tougher to find
1:45:01
uncirculated or or nearly so and have a nice eye peel in color of course once
1:45:08
you get to the double midset period everything has toning and then you know getting this this sort of peacock color
1:45:16
that we we saw on this guy this quarter you know that's you know it's it's not
1:45:21
unusual but it's also not typical so um it could you know it's just a thing
1:45:27
that uh you know appeals to me some collectors only want blast white coins and that's fair but I find that the
1:45:34
older the silver coins get the more just distasteful I guess they look to me when they're blast white because I don't
1:45:41
think that they're original all right well I hope you guys had a good Sunday and have a good uh what's
1:45:47
left of it for you I hope you're having fun with your coins this weekend and uh if you uh if you find anything
1:45:53
cool definitely share it with us on our Facebook page I'm always looking and
1:45:58
seeing what the what collectors have uh what their noops are and everything else uh and if you got any ideas for coin
1:46:05
articles or you make any cool discoveries and you have great photos be sure to use our email on our clean week
1:46:12
website and send them to us we'll look at them and see if they're worth reporting on uh so anyway guys I hope
1:46:17
you have a great afternoon and we're going to sign off and maybe get some uh get some lunch all right everybody take
1:46:24
care bye-bye
