After trying several releases from the Barton 1792 lineup of products, the 1792 Bottled in Bond was the best one I could get my hands on. This bonded bourbon is full of bright fruit and caramel flavors, it's sure to please any whiskey drinker with a sweet tooth. #WhiskeyTube #Bourbon #WhiskeyTube #Bourbon #RyeWhiskey

Hey guys, my name is Clifton and today we're going to review 1792 Bottled and Bond
0:07
So I feel like 1792 as a brand kind of flies under the radar in the bourbon world
0:13
I never see it at bars, I never hear people talking about it, and it wasn't until I went
0:17
to a tasting with their master distiller here in LA that I really got a sense for the juice
0:22
that they put out. We started with their small batch, we worked our way through their single
0:25
barrel, their bottle and bond, foolproof, high rye, sweet wheat, and their new 12 year expression
0:32
And then at the end, we had the opportunity to purchase bottles, only a few of them. We can only
0:36
pick between the single barrel, bottle and bond, and the new 12 year. I actually decided to go with
0:43
the bottled and bond just based on my experience at that tasting. This was the standout from those
0:48
options. Of course, the foolproof is amazing and I would always recommend that over any other one
0:53
But this I don know something about the way that this hit me that night I knew I had to have a bottle of it and it was only So we do know a few things about this based on the fact that it bottled and bond It at least four years old It from the same distilling season
1:08
And it's 100 proof. Other than that, 1792 doesn't really release their mash bills or age statements on things like that
1:16
Except, you know, their 12 year, which, you know, has an age statement. Most of their products do not
1:21
But they did say that most of the stuff they put out is seven to eight years old
1:25
um not really sure about the bottom and bond but like their small batch they say most of it's like
1:29
six to eight years um so it's probably older than the four year but they don't put an age statement
1:34
on it oh yeah this smells it smells like um i get a lot of banana um that's not normally a note that
1:41
i like on whiskey um i get it on some you know old forster products um it's not like a natural
1:47
banana though it's either like a really ripe banana or i would say like a banana runts um like
1:53
the little hard candies. So it doesn't really smell like a bourbon, which is interesting. I mean
1:57
if you like rye you know this might be a good choice for you but you know it definitely not what you expect from a typical bourbon profile It almost has like a Jack Daniels kind of like I kind of get banana on Jack Daniels too Let see if that comes through on the taste as well
2:12
So the taste, it is there, but it's kind of in the background of a lot of other flavors that are going on
2:18
It does taste a lot like rye. It's very grain, I mean, even the corn, like you get the grains first and foremost
2:26
and a little bit of banana runs behind it. But you also, there's like a good vanilla character going on there
2:33
It's almost like an artificial vanilla. I guess that probably goes with the whole like runce thing
2:38
But now that I've tasted it, the nose, I get beyond that runce flavor
2:42
So that's one thing, you know, if you don't like the nose of something, taste it and then go back to the nose
2:46
Because a lot of times it changes what you notice the most on it. Because now I'm getting a good bit of that, like I said, like the caramel candy, like a light caramel
2:55
As well as that vanilla. It's coming through definitely on the nose. And there is some oak there. There is like a dryness that I would probably attribute to the oak
3:01
It not like super oaky like a lot of bourbons Again we don know the age on it so it could just be that it didn sit in oak very long I think this would be good for someone that likes sweets So if you someone that loves like good like caramel candy or things like that
3:16
I think this is a good one to go to. It's not necessarily my favorite flavor profile
3:21
but I like that I have it in my collection now because it's totally different than any other bourbon that I have
3:26
I would give this a recommend. I wouldn't say that I will always have this in stock
3:30
it's like I said it's not really my personal flavor profile but I think that for the certain
3:36
person that maybe if you like Jack Daniels if you like a lot of old Forrester products definitely
3:40
give this a try and let me know what you think because I'm curious for people that like that
3:43
flavor profile you know how does this stack up against those so thank you so much for watching
