This is the Renfo white noise machine. Now, I tend to call it a sleep sound machine

but it does more than just sleep. It actually basically just creates background noise

so that you can focus on what you're doing and not be distracted

So we'll talk about it, but let's go ahead and start. with some sounds. Now, first off, here's a close-up of the buttons. The top three actually

aren't buttons. There are little tiny lights that show you your timer, 30, 60, 90 minutes, or you

can just leave it on. And then the next row are actually what are known as nature sounds

or fan sounds, hence the picture of the fan, or white noise sounds. Now, it's funny, actually

because there's white noise, pink noise, gray noise, brown noise, all these different colors

They basically sound the same. They're just in different frequencies. And then the lower one is to access the timer, volume up and down, and then power

But whatever, let's go ahead and turn it on. So we're going to start out with this nature sound, and this is a train

So let's jump to the fan sounds. Let's see what those sound like. So just push fan

And here's the thing. They're all non-looping sounds. So if you listen to the babbling brook for example or you listen to this there no patterns that emerge It not like there a 90 sample and then you can hear it start over They just continuous loops and you don hear anything

So they basically will run forever without repeating. They probably are repeating, but you just can't hear it. It's seamless

So let's hear a couple of different fans. So we have this. This

So let's jump to white noise. And on all of these, you just push the button multiple time to cycle through all of the options

So the Renfo features 36 non-loping sounds. It has 18 nature sounds, which is pretty impressive, 11 fan sounds and 7 white noise sounds

It also has, like I said, the 30, 60, 90 minute timer, or you can just leave it on

And the other cool thing about it is it actually has a hands. headphone jack on the front. So you can use this. And instead of using the speaker that's on top

which, as I hope you can hear, actually sounds pretty darn good. You can actually just plug it

into like earbuds or they have like a special little microphone that can go under a pillow

And then you get to hear this and your partner doesn't have to. Now, I will tell you

these are fantastic when you travel. They are good. Let's turn it off. Okay. So calm

They're not only good for you sleeping better because you have this to block out all the ambient sounds around you, but they're great if you travel with kids because you put this on, then the kids go to sleep and then you can be at the other side of the hotel room actually like watching TV or on your computer or talking to your partner or something

And they aren't sitting there listening to every word because they have this is sort of serving as a distraction

Now on the white noise side these devices I find a lot are in like therapists office or anywhere where they confidential conversations So maybe an attorney might have one of these in the lobby or on the floor right by their door to their actual office So you can sit there and listen to what they talking about This is actually creating that block or that barrier to the acoustics

So pretty darn handy stuff. And let me show you on this on the bottom

It's kind of fun. So it has actually, it comes with this USB to custom little plug cable

And then that plugs into the bottom. and then there's this sort of curly little channel that you run the wire along so that it will sit flat

Now, unfortunately, the documentation talks about having a charger and charger cable, but there's no battery in this

So on the bright side, it's only 14 ounces, so it's really light, easy to travel with, easy to pack

On the downside, there's no battery, so if you lose power, then you're dead. You know, well, let's freeze that differently

If you lose power, then your device turns off. I don't know whether you're dead or not

That's not the case. So it's the unit, it's the cable, and then it comes with its own little power adapter, and that's all great. And the cable's actually an okay length. A lot of these come with really short cables, which is annoying, because then, you know, you have to have it right by the power plug. And in a hotel room, that is typically not actually an optimal placement in terms of having it be noise to help you sleep

Now, my biggest criticism of this is this custom connector. I wish they would have used a more generic connector like a micro USB

So if you lose this cable, you're a bit out of luck because there's no way to plug anything else in to power this

And since it doesn't operate off a battery, it literally is just going to be, I don't know, a big plastic hockey puck until you can find this exact cable again

So not thrilled with that, but otherwise there's a lot to like about this Renfo white noise machine

You put this by a window and didn't find. tell people they might well make the assumption you right by a river So very nice very well done It has a very nice speaker on the top And it light it small it about two and a half inches tall by 4 inches around So you know maybe could have been a bit smaller but it not a bad size
