You've seen people with skins or stickers on the back of their Apple iPad devices. Looks tricky to put them on, doesn't it? In this video I'll show you step by step how I put a cool SkinIt sticker on the back of my new iPad! Video by Dave Taylor of AskDaveTaylor.com

so we got a skin from a company called

and they have lots and lots of really

flip this over this is the reveal here's

the design i had that i picked that i

and you can see it's attractive

unfortunately they come rolled

so the first thing you have to do is you

actually have to flatten it

so i think we're reasonably flat second

thing or perhaps the first thing you

really need is an ipad

and this is an ipad 3 aka the new ipad

and ready to roll um but we're actually

obviously going to be putting this on

the back

so we're going to move this out of the

way a little bit and

i'm going to put a little cloth down

just because i'm a little paranoid about

scratches

hence the putting this on in the first

the first thing we're going to need to

do is we're going to need to clean the

back of our device

and to do this i'm actually going to use

a little spray bottle

of omnicleans now if you actually go and

you search for this you'll find well

it's kind of a screen cleaner

but it'll still get all the grease and

oils off so i'll just do one spray

and then i'll take my little cloth and

and the key is for it to be dry when

you're done of course

and since my ipad is only what

two days old three days old something

like that it should still be in pretty

one hopes it doesn't get damaged that

but really the important thing is to

make sure it's dry

want to take the cover off

so we'll take the cover off lucky the

ipad 2 covers work with the ipad 3 so

that's good we'll put that aside and

let's see we just want to make sure that

so there we go the back is clean that's

now step two is we're going to bring

and if you look really closely you can

see there's all sorts of cutouts on the

cut that they have here it's not just a

yourself is i'll pull this piece off

and we're going to actually have to pull

the entire sheet off

and then we'll just go back and forth

air bubbles out now like most of these

a back and a frame for the front and

i don't put the front frames on because

because it's very not distracting let me

but the back now we're ready this is all

the hole for the camera and you see that

so now the trick obviously is to get it

and in my experience it's good to orient

and then let's see it looks like we're

and then there's the bottom where the

plug goes so between those two things

if you look here they've left space for

but i'm just going to go ahead and

and then run my finger along it

make sure it's all affixed properly

the sticker comes right up to the edge

of the switches and it's right on both

sides of the speaker and everything

and there is a little bit of a process
