out Dave Taylor here in Las Vegas Nevada
0:15
for CES
0:17
2025 I have my badge I have my backpack
0:20
I have good walking shoes I'm ready now
0:23
walking shoes yes this is an enormous
0:27
trade show with 140,000 th attendees and
0:31
almost 5,000 different companies
0:34
exhibiting from tiny little guys you've
0:36
never heard of and might never hear of
0:38
again to enormous companies like Sony
0:41
and Honda and LG where their Booth their
0:45
exhibit space is larger than the
0:47
auditorium at most high schools this is
0:50
just ridiculous it's so big it's also so
0:54
loud and so crowded that it's almost
0:57
impossible to film on the show floor so
1:00
I'm going to narrate some of the best
1:02
stuff I saw and then I'll jump on at the
1:04
end and give you some closing ideas and
1:06
thoughts let's
1:07
go before you even get to the convention
1:10
center there are massive outdoor signs
1:13
as you can see and our first product is
1:16
the ROP head this is just a little tiny
1:18
AI powered toy that looks at you and
1:22
interacts with you and it was a big hit
1:25
people like these things this spoon uses
1:28
very low powerered Electric it to fake
1:31
your taste buds into thinking you're
1:32
eating more salt than you are so for
1:35
people that like really salty food they
1:38
could actually be healthy and eat less
1:40
salt extremely ingenious idea speaking
1:44
of ideas there are now smart cat litter
1:47
boxes that are kind of ridiculously over
1:50
engineered I'm not sure my cat would
1:52
ever get in this but it does use AI
1:55
facial recognition it can even analyze
1:58
their um droppings as they go to the
2:01
bathroom in the litter box which is
2:03
quite fascinating Robot vacuum cleaners
2:06
are a big hit this year and this is the
2:10
Eureka and you can see that it's a
2:12
pretty aggressive mop approach more AI
2:16
this is a barbecue smoker so this is for
2:19
making brisket and other Smoked Meats
2:23
and the AI helps you make sure you
2:25
always get great results while in
2:28
previous years hello K has been the bell
2:31
of the ball as it were this year it was
2:33
all about Barbie so obviously that hit
2:36
movie has inspired a lot of
2:38
Manufacturers like Kodak with this
2:40
upcoming Barbie camera one of my
2:44
favorite inventions that I saw at CES
2:47
2025 was this smart kitchen stove knob
2:53
you put this on instead of your existing
2:56
knobs and your stove becomes smarter
3:00
and safer so for example it can say it's
3:04
been on for 5 minutes that's long enough
3:06
I'm going to turn it off and you can
3:08
even adjust it using the app on your
3:11
phone really interesting particularly
3:13
for seniors who are living at home and
3:16
have children who might be concerned
3:18
about their safety when they're cooking
3:21
I took a minute off to go into Caesar's
3:23
Forum Shops just to take this picture
3:25
just so you can see I was really there
3:27
in Las Vegas
3:30
and this believe it or not is an EMF
3:33
therapy bed for pets so it will help
3:36
them heal and help them feel better this
3:39
is a sensor that fits in a hard hat and
3:42
lets supervisors monitor the alertness
3:45
and health of all of the people on a
3:48
construction site which can
3:50
significantly drop construction
3:53
accidents a watch with chat GPT the
3:56
little tiny Chinese company were a bit
3:58
koi about how they got that to work but
4:01
it's an interesting idea this is the
4:04
jaai mimo robot and it actually can walk
4:08
around what its purpose is was not clear
4:11
to me but it's certainly an interesting
4:14
demo one of the better uses of AI was
4:17
the sker R1 AI stethoscope which can
4:21
help doctors and nurses diagnose any
4:24
issues as heard by the
4:28
stethoscope a number of companies
4:30
introduced robot vacuums that included
4:33
arms for reasons I cannot fully
4:36
understand this one can actually pick up
4:38
socks and move them out of the way and
4:40
even has two cameras so it has stereo
4:43
Vision on the front this might be a
4:46
little Overkill in the robot vacuum
4:48
Department this is an automatic tortilla
4:51
making machine you add flour and water
4:55
and oil and it does everything else from
4:57
mixing the batter to kneading the batter
5:01
flattening it putting it into the oven
5:03
area and cooking it on the plate are
5:05
completed tortillas they were not
5:08
offering samples so I can't tell you how
5:10
it
5:11
tastes there are always robot Baristas
5:14
because apparently people want to have
5:16
robots make their lattes and cappuccinos
5:19
and this is the artly robot Barista how
5:22
about this tiny little thing you can
5:24
attach to your clothes that is a phone
5:26
cam it's a live streaming device that
5:29
pairs with your phone not yet shipping
5:32
but coming soon this baby carrier from
5:34
evenflow has a built-in light system
5:37
that you can set to help soothe your
5:41
anxious or crying or upset baby and it's
5:45
a really interesting idea and I think
5:47
there are going to be a lot of people
5:48
picking one of these up ever wish you
5:51
had a drone you could sit in that's what
5:53
this is from Manta air it's a really big
5:56
drone that's also a single passenger
5:59
aircraft
6:00
they were not flying it around in the
6:02
trade show Brunswick introduced this
6:05
really remarkable self-piloting boat
6:08
it's a whole navigation system and that
6:11
rectangle on the left side actually is
6:14
from a sensor and camera system
6:16
underneath the boat obviously simulated
6:20
that will show you what you're going
6:23
over at the moment and if you're in very
6:25
shallow water it takes over the piloting
6:28
which is a pretty cool
6:31
idea you can't buy one of these in the
6:33
United States yet but this is a way
6:36
electric SUV and the design was just
6:40
extraordinary they have put a lot of
6:43
effort into making this the smoothest
6:45
and quietest ride possible they weren't
6:48
offering rides but it was sure
6:49
comfortable to sit in Honda introduced
6:52
two electric vehicles that were
6:55
prototypes this is the Honda zero Saloon
6:59
and this is the Honda zero SUV and they
7:02
were both pretty amazing designs not
7:05
necessarily what they'll ship but
7:07
certainly really nice prototypes ready
7:10
to take your child for a walk well you
7:12
know what if you take your child for a
7:14
walk by sitting on an suitcase that can
7:16
drive around that's the idea of this
7:18
little company and mostly I was just
7:21
amused by the fact that on its Banner
7:23
for this product they said that it's how
7:26
you can take your child for a walk and I
7:28
just scratched my head there trying to
7:30
figure out how that
7:31
works I know you're looking at this and
7:33
saying what the heck so this is an EV
7:38
that has a plane in the back so you can
7:42
push some buttons and it will push out
7:45
this enormous basically Air Taxi type
7:48
device and then you can spin up the
7:51
props and you can fly away leaving your
7:53
vehicle behind until you're ready to go
7:55
back get in the vehicle and drive back
7:58
to wherever you are bu whacking so
8:01
amazing technology not necessarily
8:03
something that you will actually be
8:05
using on a daily basis or if you're less
8:08
than a 100 millionaire but really pretty
8:11
cool stuff and just so you have a sense
8:14
for how big some of these booths are
8:16
this is the Samsung booth which of
8:18
course was all about AI but where
8:20
Samsung got really cool was with this
8:23
animated display in the front of their
8:25
Booth check this out
8:29
[Music]
8:39
R and
8:40
shiney would you like to hear your
8:43
daily yes
8:46
please today's temperature iser
8:50
yester think your TV is the biggest one
8:53
on the Block this is the new high sense
8:56
163 in television and it's gorgeous not
9:00
to be outdone umax has a 100 in AI TV
9:05
and what the AI is adding was a little
9:07
hard to figure out but hey AI I got so
9:11
focused on AI that when I saw this salt
9:13
and pepper shaker with a phone I
9:15
immediately thought there was an app and
9:17
somehow it measured its output but it's
9:19
not it's just a charging base and salt
9:23
and pepper shaker but speaking of
9:25
charging bases there's so much cute
9:28
stuff at CE s from little chinesee and
9:32
Taiwanese and other Asian companies and
9:35
I thought this was really
9:37
cute now don't look at the guy in the
9:39
Hat who's glaring at me on the left but
9:41
look in this exhibit hall at how far
9:44
back it goes and how many people there
9:46
are this was one of the smaller areas of
9:51
CES I talked about cute phone charging
9:54
stands there were also lots of cute
9:56
phone cases and related products to like
10:00
these finally a company called Martian
10:03
Tech was demoing a keyboard and mouse
10:06
design that element on the top right
10:08
that's circular is a mouse now they're
10:12
not shipping and these are not final
10:14
designs but wow so cool looking that was
10:18
just a tiny subset of everything that I
10:20
saw at CES 2025 and it's amazing there's
10:24
so much cool stuff happening there are
10:26
so many companies doing really
10:28
innovative things and there's also some
10:31
stuff where it's just like no no one's
10:34
going to buy that that doesn't even make
10:36
sense why would you spend money to
10:38
develop that sometimes that is just a
10:40
function of companies thinking through
10:44
and developing prototypes because the
10:46
next iteration or the one after that or
10:49
the one after that is actually going to
10:51
be commercially viable we see that in so
10:53
many product categories like smart
10:56
sunglasses and smart eyeglasses with
10:59
where the first couple of generations
11:01
companies like Google were experimenting
11:03
with this they really weren't very
11:05
useful but as technology keeps moving
11:08
forward and as we get new ingredients
11:10
into that stew they are getting to be
11:13
more interesting are they like absolute
11:16
make or break products yet no but keep
11:19
watching that space in fact one of the
11:22
things about going to CES which stands
11:24
for the Consumer Electronic Show though
11:27
the company prefers us just to use the
11:29
acronym so one of the things about going
11:31
to CES is that you can sort of see the
11:35
future at some level there's things that
11:37
are going to be important things that
11:39
are going to be really amazing
11:42
Technologies now do I need a smart
11:45
refrigerator probably not do I need a
11:47
doorbell that recognizes the animals
11:49
that are walking up to make sure that
11:51
like the people are connected with their
11:53
dogs no that doesn't even make sense but
11:55
you know maybe a few iterations down the
11:58
road that will indeed be really cool so
12:02
obviously as you saw one of the huge
12:04
themes was ai ai ai and right now it's a
12:09
marketing Trend and a fad so everyone
12:11
and their brother is adding AI to
12:13
everything they possibly can and
12:16
honestly a lot of times it doesn't
12:18
really make sense it's not really
12:20
necessary but let them keep working and
12:23
iterating and experimenting and testing
12:26
and we the consumers ultimately are the
12:29
ones that get to make the vote because
12:31
we can say yes that's really cool I'll
12:33
buy one or no I'm not going to spend an
12:36
extra $8,000 on this thing because it
12:39
has this one feature now they'll keep
12:41
iterating just as we saw with
12:43
smartphones and computers and
12:45
televisions and all the technology that
12:48
makes up our modern technological World
12:51
a lot of those started out pretty poorly
12:53
designed and pretty badly implemented
12:55
and they just kept getting better and
12:58
now we just ass asse if I pick up my
13:00
smartphone and I go to take a picture it
13:02
can figure out the focus it can figure
13:05
out the lighting it can actually manage
13:07
better than most digital slrs or
13:09
certainly most film cameras in low light
13:12
or in high motion environments and such
13:15
so lots to consider here there's been
13:18
lots of media coverage I encourage you
13:20
to check out what everyone's been
13:21
posting cuz no one person can represent
13:24
everything I walked I think 40,000 steps
13:29
while I was at the trade show yes my
13:32
feet are absolutely wiped but I saw I
13:36
thought everything and yet I actually
13:38
noticed that from other people's
13:40
coverage there were things that somehow
13:42
I didn't quite catch so it's just an
13:45
enormous amount of information I really
13:48
hope that what I shared was interesting
13:50
to you please leave a comment letting me
13:52
know if it was stuff that actually
13:55
picked your interest or whether you just
13:57
thought they were just the dumbest techn
13:59
is going and as always I invite you to
14:02
subscribe to my channel click or tap on
14:05
that subscribe button hit that Bell icon
14:07
for notifications give me a thumbs up if
14:09
you found this in value fantastic that's
14:12
everything I got from CES
14:14
2025 I am aiming to come back next year
14:18
which means I will again have to get in
14:20
training for that much walking it's
14:22
pretty intense actually so I'll hope to
14:25
catch you in my next video
