A cat toy your cats will actually play with
0:03
Let's check this out. ♪♪♪ Dave Taylor here, and I'm checking out this
0:15
This is the Fico Interactive Cat Toy, and it is like a number of different toys on the market
0:22
Basically, a little rechargeable ball that bounces and moves around and hopefully engages your cat's interest
0:31
Now, this one's particularly interesting because you can actually put some catnip inside
0:36
and you actually have the ability to hook on these two little things
0:40
that are like little leashes, which really are the huge win. It's this feather that my cats get so excited about
0:47
The bell, eh, catches their attention. But you basically open it up
0:52
and then there's a micro USB plug, and so you recharge it
0:56
and it's pretty nice. So it's a 1 1⁄2 hour full charge from completely dead
1:01
and it gives you 4 hours of activity. But here's the thing
1:05
When you turn it on, it's totally self-contained, and after 45 minutes, it turns itself off
1:11
And I guess their design is that at a certain point, your cat's going to lose interest regardless
1:16
So that means that you have 5 or 6 play times on a single charge, and that's really cool
1:23
So to turn it on, you just push the button, and as you can see, now we've engaged the servo
1:29
so it's starting to work, and there's a laser light, sort of
1:33
It's just sort of a red LED, but if I push and hold
1:37
we can actually change the colors, so now you get different colors
1:41
If that's something that your cat enjoys, this could be really good at night. I'm going to turn it off
1:46
and then we're going to actually reassemble it, and I am entirely convinced
1:51
that I will not be able to get through this without at least one of my cats coming to visit
1:56
which is why I have all this open space in front of me. It's a little tricky getting it to screw on correctly
2:03
or maybe that's just me, but I know it goes on, and it will go on correctly
2:10
There we go. Let's see. That looks good. So turn it on, and now you can see
2:16
it sort of does its own thing. Now, obviously, I have a table surface
2:20
so this is fairly precarious, but I have a lot of footage of my cats playing with this
2:26
and my dog was just like, uh, what is that thing? So let's cut to some actual live action footage
2:34
♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪
3:18
So pretty fun, actually, and you can see at least one of my cats has come up onto the table
3:22
to see what's going on, and we'll see if we can get it to come towards him
3:26
without it falling off the table, which has already happened twice now
3:30
but this is a pretty engaging toy. The cats find it super interesting
3:35
and we're going to lose it again, so I'll be back in just a second
3:40
There's not much else to really say about this. It is interesting
3:44
My cats do find it to be fun. It is remarkably inexpensive
3:48
It is self-contained, and it comes with really everything you need to entertain your cat
3:55
Obviously you can take this on the road with you. I don't know why you would
3:59
because your cats probably don't like traveling very much. I should mention that there is a little bit of rubber
4:04
on the edges of the light ring, and that helps it get grip
4:08
but on the downside, what I don't like about it is, as you saw in the sample footage
4:14
it doesn't do really well on carpet, and it does particularly poorly on a sculpted carpet
4:19
So if you have a deep, plush carpet, or you have a carpet that has a lot of different
4:25
sort of levels or layers, this thing's not going to accomplish much
4:29
However, you can see, it is a bit of a cat magnet
4:33
Now I have two cats that are curious about this. So I'm going to just sort of hold on to it
4:37
so it doesn't fall off again. So the positive is that it's fun
4:42
it's cheap, it's pretty tough. It's fallen off the counter a couple of times
4:46
and nothing's cracked or broken. It is rechargeable. I really like that I don't have to put batteries in it
4:52
The downside is it's really for hardwood floors, or tile, or linoleum
4:56
If you have carpet, it might work. It probably isn't going to work as well
5:00
but it still might be enough to have your cat be interested
5:04
as you can see with my cat. And as you can also see
5:08
it's the feather much more than it is the ball that is getting the cat's interest
5:14
So we'll see what happens here. Alright, so, being fairly cooperative for a cat
5:20
One of the nice things is the company offers a lifetime replacement
5:24
So if you do have any issues or anything breaks, then they will actually replace it
5:28
for free. So really, I mean, it's an inexpensive cat toy, given that cats seem to enjoy packaging more than the toys
5:36
This actually catches their attention. So I feel like it's a win
5:40
So that's really all I've got to say. If you've got a cat, this is really fun
5:44
So let me just talk about the price. But before I get there, I'm going to ask
5:48
can you subscribe to my channel? I really appreciate when you do that
5:52
and the more subscribers I have, the more leverage I have to get cool things
5:56
and check them out so you don't have to. Like this toy, right
6:00
So great, thank you. So this is the Fico Interactive Cat Toy
6:06
It comes in this pink, and white, and it's $16.99 at Amazon.com
6:12
I've got a link in the description. But $16.99 for something that can entertain your cats
6:16
even when you're not home. That's a pretty sweet deal. And when you're done, you can either wait for it to time out
6:22
or you can push the button, and it's gone to sleep. It's as easy as that
6:28
So, with that, I'm going to let my cat continue to play with it
6:32
And that means I'll catch you in my next video. Bye
