Another beautiful Casio watch. Let's have a closer look
0:11
Dave Taylor here and I'm looking at this. This is the Casio Edifice EQS900CL-1AV
0:19
Wow! That is a lot of name but it's a really nice watch and it's also one of the lowest price
0:24
Edifice watches in their lineup. But it's a little hard to figure out exactly what the
0:29
distribution deal is with this because you can't find it at shop.casio.com but you can find it
0:35
through third-party sites. So we'll get to that at the end of the video. Stick around. Let me start
0:40
by talking about the actual watch itself. So it features a solar movement, mineral crystal screen
0:48
carbon fiber dial, luminous hands, a 44 millimeter dial that's 12 millimeters thick
0:55
and it's water resistant to 100 meters or over 300 feet. Now it does have a leather band so
1:02
you got to be careful with water resistant or waterproof if you're going and having it in
1:07
water a lot and it's leather. Generally that doesn't work well. So you can obviously change
1:12
the strap if you're so inclined. I kind of like this leather strap. It's simple, it's humble
1:17
it goes well with the watch design. The watch also features a chronograph stopwatch and there's
1:23
a battery level indicator that I can never quite seem to figure out and it is quite frankly an
1:29
old-school watch. So the first day of each month there is a greater than zero percent chance that
1:35
you're going to have to actually fiddle with it to get it to show the one in the day of the month
1:41
because it doesn't know what month of the year you're in. So if you have a 30 day month and then
1:47
the next day it's going to show 31 not one. A little tedious but honestly people that have been
1:52
wearing watches this is something that they've dealt with for hundreds of years so you can do it
1:57
It's all good. Now let me give you a little bit of a close-up because as you can see there are
2:02
three sub dials and it's just a nice bright easily read watch and all the usage on it. It's pretty
2:09
straightforward really all the sub dials are all about the chronograph stopwatch right so all about
2:15
like keeping track of time and start stop that's what the buttons on the side are for and it works
2:22
off of solar so as long as you have your hand in or the watch out in the sun every so often
2:28
you're good basically forever. So this is a watch that should be post-apocalyptic beneficial just
2:34
in case you're worried about the apocalypse or maybe zombies right if you're running after
2:38
zombies as long as you're in the sun occasionally you'll still know what time it is which would be
2:42
pretty handy. So now before I tell you about the price and the complexity of actually trying to
2:47
figure out where to buy it let me just ask if you can go ahead and subscribe to my channel
2:52
really appreciate when you subscribe to my channel and let me know if you have an old school watch
2:57
like this that has a day of month have you just given up and you don't pay attention to it or
3:02
at the first of every month do you fiddle with your watch to get it to actually show the correct day
3:07
Now I tend to actually fiddle with things to get them to be correct that's just me but I'm not sure
3:13
everyone does that. Now let me also mention on the strap so the included strap like I said it's a
3:19
black leather pretty basic strap it has two loops one of which is sewn to be right by where the
3:25
buckle is and then the second one actually slides up and down and other than that it comes in at
3:33
least I got it in the Edifice little canister which came in the Edifice box so I am quite sure
3:40
this is a legitimate Casio watch. There are counterfeits out there but they're not going to
3:45
bother with all the extra packaging. So this is the real thing and this Casio Edifice EQS 900 CL
3:54
1AV is $155 at creationwatches.com but you can't find it at shop.casio.com. Let me say that again
4:05
you can't you cannot find it at shop.casio.com and I'm not clear whether that's because I have
4:11
the watch prior to its major release or because it's Europe only or what the deal is. I can't
4:18
seem to quite figure that out but what I will say is it's a very nice watch and at $155 that's a
4:25
really good price for something that's at this level of quality and is part of the Edifice line
4:31
So I am a big fan and this is going back on my wrist so I have no issues with that and if you're
4:38
interested in this watch I hope that you can actually hunt it down and find one for yourself
4:44
So let me see. I'm going to get that on, put this through both loops
4:48
spread the loop a little bit. There we go. And now it's on my wrist and that means I will catch you
4:53
in my next video
