A trigonometric equation involving multiple angles and a reciprocal trigonometric function is solved showing all steps with details. Trigonometric identities are used to rewrite cos(2x) = 2 cos^2(x) - 1 and 2/sec (x) = 2 cos (x) . The substitution u = cos(x) is made which helps in writing the given equation as a quadratic equation which is solved for u and then u is solved for x.
