A trigonometric identity with single and multiple angles is transformed and verified using other basic trigonometric identities. Using basic identities, the left side of the identity is rewritten so that it is exactly written in the same form as the right side. tan(2x) is written as : tan(2x) = sin(2x) / cos(2x), then sin(2x) is written as : sin(2x) = 2 sin(x) cos(x) and cos(2x) = cos^2x - sin^2x, then simplifications follow.
