0:13
hi YouTubers welcome to my channel This
0:16
is Johnny In today's video I'm going to
0:18
talk about the Windows Server 2025
0:21
installation and activation Why Windows
0:26
This has been released since November
0:31
and already been released to
0:33
manufacturing almost one year now 12
0:37
months ago and couple of reason why I
0:40
prefer to use Windows server 2025
0:44
sometimes because it's less requirement
0:48
than Windows 11 as you can see for the
0:52
server core 512 mag and 2 G for the
0:55
server with desktop experience 32
0:58
gigabyte free space more importantly it
1:02
doesn't need a TPM only for certain
1:05
features if you enable it and the UEFI
1:08
also is not required so basically all
1:11
those requirements lower than Windows
1:13
11's requirement 4 GB run usually
1:17
running very well for the Windows server
1:19
version another reason why I trying to
1:23
use uh Windows Server 2025 Pi in my
1:27
environment because it's a very clean
1:29
operating system comparing to Windows 11
1:33
There's no loss commercial features such
1:36
as recommendation popup ads and
1:40
pre-installed all kind of softwares The
1:43
server version usually is lightweight
1:46
only necessary software and service
1:49
installed In that way we don't have to
1:51
waste our resources to have those
1:55
built-in software or services in our
1:58
system In my channel I do have quite a
2:01
few videos to introduce those
2:04
lightweight LTSC Windows 11 or special
2:11
uh Windows 11 as you can find out those
2:14
from my videos here But without any
2:18
adjustment for your operating system you
2:21
can directly install Windows Server 2025
2:25
ARM For low advanced users using Windows
2:29
2025 server version can better than
2:33
control their operating system and have
2:37
better performance comparing to Windows
2:40
11 The last reason is uh because Windows
2:43
Server 2025 is so easy to install and so
2:47
easy to get activated which is I'm going
2:50
to present it in this video So if you
2:53
search download Windows 2025 you should
2:56
be able to get the Microsoft evaluation
2:58
center and uh Microsoft does has a KB to
3:04
show you how to convert or upgrade
3:07
Windows server version to retail version
3:10
Basically you can install evaluation
3:16
and then convert it to the retail
3:18
version So now let's jump into it Here
3:26
is what I like It is so easy to get the
3:28
Windows Server 2025 Just download
3:31
Windows 2025 search online and you will
3:33
get the Microsoft evaluation center
3:36
Evaluation as I mentioned before you can
3:39
upgrade it convert it to a retail
3:42
version very easy which I can
3:44
demonstrate later on But now for us just
3:47
download the ISO file You also can try
3:50
it on a a zoo environment or download
3:52
VHD but the easiest way is download ISO
3:55
file So let's get it You might need to
3:59
put some information here So that's what
4:03
After you fill in all information
4:08
So you should be able to get this page
4:10
Uh you will find this link from the
4:12
video description as well Uh there's a
4:14
couple version There's some different
4:17
language version as well Uh for me 64bit
4:24
So downloading will take a while since
4:26
it's a actually very big file It will
4:29
take some time Um let's pause the video
4:31
for now and then I will come back once
4:35
Download has been completed So we got
4:38
the file which is 5.6 6 GB and you will
4:46
here So now we're going to install it
4:54
For demo purpose I'm going to use VMware
4:56
Workstation to create a virtual machine
4:59
and then install Windows 2025 on it The
5:02
step is the same You just need to burn
5:05
the Windows 2025 to a USB or disk Then
5:10
you can boot it from there Create a new
5:16
Just using hardware compatibility We
5:19
using default one Next Um
5:25
we just choose our new downloaded the
5:30
ISO file Open for it Next It's um
5:38
You can use uh Windows 10 and later x64
5:41
this version Next we're going to put the
5:49
as our virtual machine name So it's
5:51
going to create in a new folder on the
5:54
virtual machines folder
5:57
You can use BIOS UFI doesn't matter So
6:01
I'm going to use um 4 gig RAM for this
6:06
and it as a networking
6:09
or will be default settings
6:13
we're going to using 60 gig disk
6:22
You can review and customize hardware
6:24
For example if you don't have some card
6:27
USB you can remove them You can add
6:29
multiple network cards in here so you
6:42
Press any key to boot from CD or DVD So
6:45
which is same as you install Windows 11
6:55
Now we got the Windows server setup
7:07
This will going to wipe out anything on
7:12
So you can choose the version standard
7:16
or data center You might like to use a
7:19
desktop experience I would like to use
7:22
in data center version
7:29
they will not check your TPM
7:33
So if you don't have that that will be
7:35
fine They detect the latest a disk So
7:38
they going to format it and create a
7:46
Then it will start into installation
7:50
So to make a video shorter I going to
7:53
skip this part Let it run Once it's
7:56
finished it I will come back to continue
8:01
After 15 20 25 minutes waiting depending
8:05
on computer's performance You should be
8:07
able to get this customized settings
8:10
which let you to type a password for
8:12
building administrator account You just
8:15
come up up with a password and type in
8:23
Okay Then we just unlock it using C
8:27
control delete those three combination
8:30
keys to unlock it and then type the
8:33
password you just entered to get in
9:00
Since this is a server version uh the
9:04
server manager always automatically
9:06
launch it after logged in
9:14
What we want to check is the version of
9:22
As you can see we are running Windows
9:24
Server 2025 data center evaluation
9:27
version 24 H2 installed on June 19th
9:33
That's how easy you can get the Windows
10:19
for this new installed evaluation
10:21
version Once you logged in you may
10:23
notice there's a Windows Server 2025
10:26
data center evaluation at the bottom
10:28
right of your screen and it's mentioned
10:31
it valid only for 180 days You also can
10:35
get it from here The addition is
10:41
but Microsoft does allows us to convert
10:45
it from evaluation version to detail
10:48
version first Then you can convert
10:50
between retail volume licensed or OEM
10:55
licensed So here is the command we're
10:58
going to use in this command to convert
11:00
to a retail product version Um there's a
11:04
product key We will need it Actually
11:06
Microsoft already provided to us If you
11:10
look at the key management service
11:11
client activation product key you should
11:14
be able to find out the Windows 10
11:16
server 2025 this key here So we're going
11:19
to use that to uh convert the version
11:22
and activate it There's a couple
11:24
commands I going to show which you can
11:27
find from video description as well or
11:33
So let's go to the command line
11:41
So we're going to using this command So
11:44
it's a command Okay from Microsoft KB
11:47
and the key which is provided also by
11:52
So we just need to enter then this
11:57
evaluation version will be converted
12:03
is adding package Microsoft Windows
12:05
server data center edition into this
12:18
Well of course you do need to reboot
12:20
your computer So let's give it reporting
12:26
During reporting you do see this adding
12:29
features notification So just wait it to
12:33
be completed It's clean up
12:46
Now we have successfully convert our
12:49
version uh we can check that through the
12:58
So Windows Server 2025 data center
13:00
version If you want you can change your
13:03
product key You want to activate it Um
13:06
then you should be able to run couple of
13:09
commands as well to activate your
13:12
Windows data center We are using a key
13:15
provided by Microsoft itself uh to
13:18
activate your version From the command
13:21
line just run this command just telling
13:24
the Windows 2025 to use this product key
13:29
After that you just need to change your
13:32
KMS server to your local
13:36
server if you have one If you don't have
13:38
one you can find it from internet So
13:40
that's your KMS server Then last step is
13:45
just to telling system to activate it So
13:48
once you did that your Windows system
13:51
will be activated and you can use it
13:56
without any limitations So as you can
13:59
see product activated successfully Uh
14:01
you also can check it through the system
14:07
uh product key activation status is
14:12
So that's how you can upgrade or convert
14:16
your Windows 2025 evaluation version to
14:21
the official version which you can use
14:24
longer and you also can successfully
14:27
activate it if you have your KMS
14:32
So that's all for this video Thank you
14:34
for watching If you like it please give
14:36
