and we're back with another episode of two stars hey
0:11
just after our quick breakup you know what
0:18
I don't want to talk about it it's still very fresh um I mean you know I mean maybe we
0:23
should talk about it maybe it's a little it's very therapeutic I've got to say I was I was very hurt my feelings were
0:29
very very hurt and I didn't know how to express myself with my words so I chose
0:34
violence chose three glasses of Cabernet
0:39
that'll do it no um I think it's really funny how no one
0:44
believed this I know I thought it was so good I thought it was convincing but I
0:51
watched it the night that I posted it and I didn't realize until the next
0:56
morning that we were laughing very visibly midnight so anybody who didn't catch it
1:03
me and Jess thought it'd be funny to post like uh um like a what do you call
1:09
it like a world star type yeah like a street fight yeah video for April Fools
1:15
and just be like hey we got beef no more two straws um we posted an April fools but
1:21
unfortunately we were both laughing mid-fight and then by the time it was caught we
1:27
were already home oh asleep like I literally got posted I was like bam midnight post April fools
1:35
they're gonna feel so stupid and I woke up and everyone was just supposed to laugh and cry faces but at
1:41
least it was funny it was at least they got a laugh out of it even
1:47
though they were not convinced at all I know oh my my microphone just went out oh there we go yeah I I've got to say I
1:55
was like why is everybody laughing and then I started looking and I was like they should be sad for us they should
2:01
worry about the friendship and try and offer counseling and therapy I mean hey
2:06
guys we know that when you've been friends for a long time things can get rough but you two have a good thing
2:14
going no nothing like that no it's just last night
2:20
oh the one comment we got most was because we were we fought on the moving
2:26
yeah the walkway that like yeah inside airports a lot yeah like the moving
2:31
sidewalk basically yeah so we were fighting on that and everyone was like y'all y'all are bold because either one
2:39
of you could have lost like a chunk a chunk of hair a lock or something they're not wrong they're not wrong
2:45
they're not I didn't even think about it I I did I did think about it and I was like you know what it
2:51
I'll still do it I'll still do it I'll just be very mindful of
2:56
um your hair my head was on the floor
3:03
there was momentarily on the floor but but yes I I maintained top position for
3:08
a little bit more yeah I was really trying to sell it I'm like no
3:13
we're fighting so luckily I didn't lose any locks
3:19
they're all here they're all maintained I didn't have a donut incident oh Circa
3:25
2016. God that was that was so funny I still I'm pretty sure I still have a
3:31
picture of when it was just like on the floor just dead on the floor if you
3:37
don't know what we're referring to um Angela used to have um a really
3:42
awesome mohawk we all we all know this but for a short very short amount of time she bleached it and I thought it
3:50
looked incredible however she had a lot of breakage it was really cool for the
3:55
first month and then I fought in it I chilled a bed I didn't really moisturize
4:00
that hardcore that wasn't conditioning um and then one one day I'm pretty sure
4:06
it was like a wrestling day where we were in the cage and I felt like it was Danny Martinez like pushed me in to one
4:15
one of the decals on the cage and the velcro ripped out a huge chunk of my
4:20
brittle yellow hair and dude it looked like one of those Krispy Kreme Donuts
4:27
like it was just a Halo a golden Halo and then a hole in the middle like a
4:34
[ __ ] hurricane and I tried everything I tried comb overs
4:39
it would be like I don't know like an afro pick over I tried to hide it and I
4:44
tried to dye it even so that you couldn't see it and it was just unsavable so that's why when I came back
4:51
to the UFC I had the shaved head because I didn't want to come back into the UFC
4:57
with a donut you looked you looked so young with your
5:02
shaved head I remember we were we were leaving Vegas and we're at the airport and you sat down at one of the slot
5:08
machines in the airport just like to sit down and I remember one of the airport
5:13
security attendant monitors they came up to you and were like excuse me young man
5:19
can I please see your ID you have to be 21 to sit here died oh
5:31
yeah you thought I was a man but a young man
5:37
I guess it's okay that you think I'm Ill which is a compliment yeah I was I was definitely over 30 at the
5:45
time so I took it I took the compliment decided not to get offended yeah you know you just you take
5:52
the wins where you can you appreciated I don't I don't get asked for my ID much
5:58
no when I'm really offended I'm like I look great for 40. you need to [ __ ] great you need a more
6:04
asexual hairstyle maybe that's it you know like a nice mullet I feel like I
6:11
feel like you get kind of with a mullet maybe some maybe a little bowl cut I
6:16
don't think any of that a little Patty pen what are you doing with one of those we will have to figure
6:23
it out so anyway let's talk about MMA why we were talking so long about here
6:30
oh yeah because we we fought no yes now we're back against my will whatever you love me you
6:38
you couldn't live without me sure these past what is it eight nine years they've been the best years of your life well
6:45
what I can't live about are fights and we actually didn't have anything
6:52
exactly they have any UFC fights this weekend uh we did the weekend before but
6:58
we did have some other fight cards we had uh gamebred boxing
7:05
um we had pfl and what was Bellator oh yeah the one we went to the one that we
7:12
went to and saw live what am I forgetting yeah that just happened the other day yes that the place of our
7:20
alleged fight um Bellator which we were just talking about yes so we had those three last
7:26
weekend but let's start with um the weekend before oh yeah so we had main event we had
7:32
um
7:38
and San Hagan took the win in a five-round battle however there was
7:44
there's some questionable judging which I just cannot excuse I mean we talk about Judges all the time but somebody
7:50
gave Vera the win and I I just don't understand it was
7:57
ridiculous there there's no there is no way there is no excuse I cannot I I
8:02
cannot even comprehend what that judge was looking at when he scored it for his
8:09
phone he was like he was watching a tick tock I don't know
8:15
what he was doing but it wasn't looking at the cage in front of him no or that monitor right in front of him
8:20
he has a close-up view of exactly what's happening and somehow he gave Cheeto like three rounds and it's hard for me
8:28
to place the one round he got I do remember Cheeto had like maybe one maybe
8:33
two stronger rounds but I feel like it was only one round where I thought okay
8:38
he did enough for it to at least be an even round yeah maybe he took that round but and I was rooting for Cheeto so I
8:46
was looking for every excuse to give him around and sandhagen just was on top of
8:52
it he was like he was like the guy that does all his homework and and studies
8:57
for the test and then like when the teacher forgets to like do the pop quiz he reminds everybody excuse me excuse me
9:04
teacher we have a pop quiz and everybody in the classroom just
9:10
looks at him and wants to kill him yes he did his [ __ ] homework he's getting jumped in the bathroom after class for
9:15
sure or at least because one person can't do it he's gonna jump by three Cheeto veras after class because he did
9:23
his homework really well but um he was just on top of it he was throwing lots of punches kicks to take Downs that he
9:30
used to like really set up everything I think that's the key to his game he just
9:35
he's able to just keep a constant pace and the shots because they're such good
9:41
shots they really keep you guessing so if you do defend them then you're like falling on your face trying to defend
9:49
the faints to the shots and he sets up good strikes from there he just he was able to do that all five rounds and I
9:55
was pretty impressed like his last fight was really impressive but this one I
10:01
think was even more impressive because Cheeto Vera usually does well against
10:06
people with that type of style he's able to still the rounds with like big moments able to score like heavy punches
10:15
and heavy kicks and just still rounds and he wasn't able to do it this time yeah I think it was
10:21
um in between the second and third round his coach Jason Perillo is like standing there talking to him saying like hey man
10:27
you're bumming me out like when are you gonna pick it up and Cheeto Vera is is like you're hurting my feelings and she
10:35
was like no no yes yeah and normally Cheeto I mean he's
10:40
like pretty historically a slow starter it takes them a little bit to get going
10:45
and then he starts just really throwing those like heavy leg kicks and hard punches and he did it momentarily in the
10:53
third and the fourth but it was just too little too late uh San Hagan had way too
10:58
much momentum on him yeah and yeah he did great jobs with the faints and mixing up the strikes to take downs and
11:04
just really put Vera in in a tough place and dug him into a hole that he couldn't get out of yeah and I think
11:11
um the real turning point was like the third round where Cheeto started really
11:16
planting and sitting down on things and
11:22
Corey Saint hanko's gone yeah you know he'd just be away from it he'd slip it he'd Circle he wasn't able to find that
11:29
Mark and those are those moments where he he's able to start catching up start getting ahead and he wasn't able to do
11:36
that this time so saying he can just was ready for it he was ready for all his
11:42
big attacks he was able to pull a lot of that out he didn't stop fainting which
11:47
is something that Fighters usually do once they start to get tired and that's when Cheeto was able to like capitalize
11:55
but he wasn't able to do that this time because Saint haken was just the same Pace the entire fight yeah it was really
12:00
impressive I think that that's um probably the most impressive that he's looked in his last few outings I mean I
12:07
I think he's always really fun to watch I think he mixes it up really well but he's been you know a little Hit or Miss
12:12
he's he's had some tough losses yeah the delicious one really sticks out to me because it was it was so close yeah and
12:19
that was one that I would have given to him but he took that loss and he found found places where he could improve he's
12:26
like if I pressure more if I shoot harder if I'm not just you know running from the shot I'm actually creating
12:33
scrambles then I could use that to capitalize on so what did you think about his call out to murab the Vash
12:41
Villi I don't know if you remember it but it was pretty unique
12:48
I don't remember how it went please remind me so after murad's last fight he
12:54
said I'm hungry I'm hungry so
13:00
Corey sandhagen as a rebuttal to this he said and he even apologized before he
13:06
said this uh kudos to him for knowing this was corny before he said it but he
13:11
said all right this is gonna sound kind of lame but Rob I know you're hungry
13:17
then I got something for you to eat but it all tastes good
13:23
I think that had to be the perfect response ever like what else what else are you gonna
13:28
say to that but it wasn't to him I mean this murab said this after his
13:35
last fight after after Oh I thought it was like a Twitter call out Rob said this after his last win in the
13:43
cage ah yes okay okay it's coming back to me so thank you sandhagen after his
13:49
last win in the cage was like I'd like to fight marab and he said I know you're hungry
13:55
I have something for you to eat but it doesn't taste good I think that's great still
14:01
it didn't happen the way that I was I was trying to make it connect in my mind however I think it's great cheesy corny
14:08
a little cringy but hey I would love to see that fight I think he should have
14:14
said I have something for you to eat pause
14:20
like what aljo said when he was like I'm Coming For That Ass yeah come on Jess
14:26
listen call out lore you need to catch up I am this is why I'm sorry I I wasn't
14:33
this is what happened on uh on March 31st slash April 1st you need to let it
14:39
go you need to let it go listen we forgave and for God and you just need to move on you know this Are You Really
14:45
Gonna Keep dwelling in this you know I'm not as well because it's like new stuff I mean you just keep bringing it up
14:51
though just keep reinforcing the original reason why listen once beef is squashed you don't
14:58
like go bring it back up again clearly we need to do some counseling I
15:04
think I think the pause would have been a little fun not everybody can be so
15:09
funny and perfectly timed as you Angela Hill he practiced it though he said he
15:15
practiced it in the mirror I'm trying I'm trying but okay so I think that
15:24
would be a great fight I'm really excited about that fight actually um and it makes sense I feel like it's
15:30
gonna look like they're fighting their reflections yeah like it's it's very similar Styles
15:36
different builds um different builds um
15:42
I don't think he you know flows or puts volume in his punches as well as sanhagen however yes
15:50
they're they're pressure Fighters they want they want to go for the takedown they want to grind it out they want to
15:55
make you work and make you tired absolutely um so it's gonna come down to whoever is
16:00
you know has a better timing who can you know grind somebody out yeah give him a
16:06
Rob's more like a wood chipper with his striking and Corey sandhagen is like uh
16:11
we call it like a lance a little bit more precise yeah he's like a he is like he's fencing
16:19
and maraba's just like just like throwing nunchucks you know so it's the
16:24
battle of the Ninja Turtles oh that's funny I'll try and edit that in
16:31
[Laughter] Leonardo versus Michelangelo
16:37
maybe maybe or Ralph kind of gives me Raphael kind of he could be Raphael for sure yeah
16:44
yeah definitely stature the hunt shoulders but he's too nice nah he's
16:49
definitely Michelangelo yeah yeah I mean you could even against like kind
16:56
of michelangelo-ish well no Sandy gets kind of like Donatello the nerdiness you
17:02
don't think so yeah I guess so and the reach too he has that big staff he does
17:08
pause I guess I don't have to say pause because it's not gay no the pause is like a gay joke like oh no homo it's
17:14
like the same kind of thing so I used to say eyebrow race well that only works with a
17:21
video so it's a good thing to be doing that yeah I have to tell you guys on the podcast
17:27
we're listening Audio Only what I did it was an eyebrow raise a very flirtatious
17:33
one very insinuating
17:38
um what else happened on that card that was exciting I feel like the coal main was
17:44
noteworthy but I don't remember what it is no you're getting old I know I can never
17:51
remember me I can't even remember what we did Friday at least you remembered it was Friday
17:57
yeah oh Holly Holm versus Jana Santos that I did want to talk about that where
18:03
do you think calling home is now after she pretty much schooled Jana Santos I
18:08
think Santos was um ranked number three so
18:21
there's nobody else yeah that division is is not very stacked it's a very it's a very quick shot to the title picture
18:29
so yeah put her in yeah um who is fighting for the title
18:36
right now is there has there been there's no one yet no Nunez is just sitting up on her throne yeah she just
18:43
be Pena I'm sure Pena wanted immediate rematch I don't think that that's gonna happen I think they have to give it to
18:48
somebody else because we've just seen them twice in a row oh wait no isn't uh oh was it Arena yeah she was supposed to
18:55
she was supposed to and then it didn't happen why not something happened I I don't know if one of them got injured
19:01
but I remember it was supposed to happen it's supposed to happen on my card dang that sucks yeah
19:08
um let's see yeah so winner of that fight when it
19:15
eventually happens you think that they'll get Holly Holm next because the thing about Holly Holm is she's fought
19:21
for the title so many times and she literally she has a bunch of
19:27
losses on her records but they're only title defenses yeah or usually title defenses or the one time she had the
19:34
title yeah I mean I think it makes sense I think who she is as a fighter her
19:39
position and everything like that her her you know she was a huge following as well I don't I don't have any arguments
19:46
as to why she wouldn't be next in line do you think she looked I think she looked okay I honestly I
19:52
think she looked the same as she always does you know she comes out and she has a very
19:58
um clear distinct Pathway to get where she wants to go it's kind of classic Greg Jackson's like game plan and she
20:06
really sticks to it she really doesn't divert yeah yeah that I thought um her
20:11
her wrestling has just been improving ever since like her last maybe her last
20:17
three fights like ever since 2020 like the covid time I feel like she just went into wrestling camp and really just
20:24
stuck to that and got really good at taking people down and just sitting on them or just grinding up against the
20:30
cage or grinding up against the cage but I remember when she fought um Irene
20:35
um aldana that was the first time I noticed that oh she has other things she's not just gonna put you up against
20:43
the cage and let her butt cheeks pop out like she can actually take you down too and let her butt cheeks sit on top of
20:50
you you know everybody knows what I'm talking about the little patented Hollow home but little cheek slip yeah little
20:57
cheek weak under cheek are you the one I'm here I'm here hey I'm cute I'm here
21:03
I need like I need to figure out what size to ask for so I have under boob all
21:09
fight because that's my bet that's the best part of my boob is the underboob yeah I feel like I'd get a lot of a lot
21:16
more fans I could just you just have to be prepared that it may turn into full boob
21:22
I think I'd be all right it could turn into full boob real quick and then do you want to get distracted like Jessica and George was oh I would never be
21:29
distracted you just let him out I'd stick it in her mouth I mean okay use it
21:34
to help smother and get my get my uh underhook back
21:40
shove that thing in her eyeballs like you're just plugging me an eye they're like not in the rule book
21:47
yeah [ __ ] I put ice on it right before I started
22:00
aggressive and violent I wouldn't mind um but uh yeah Holly Holm every time she
22:06
fights you can count on that butt cheek just oh yeah popping out just like that's the reason I never want to wear
22:13
the valley tudo shorts show it yeah I'm like I have a nice under butt no hers is
22:20
like hers is like cute and like unoffensive I feel like mine is just it
22:25
would be like porn s yeah yeah that that thing's fat
22:30
there's this chick this has a mind of its own I forget I forget her name but she's a black
22:36
chick I think she's like from Panama or something and her butt cheek always pops
22:41
up I know who you're talking about she wears the red shorts yep yep oh it's so cute because that thing is like an apple
22:47
it is round and she's wearing red shorts too so it's even more Apple s it's round
22:52
and the cheek pops up ever so slightly like after a couple push kicks or something and she has like really good
22:59
like stabs to the gut mm-hmm check her out forget her name no I know
23:05
exactly what you're talking about I Can See the s I can see it I can see them legs yes it's glorious they're all on
23:13
top yes yeah so yeah good for Holly Holm I think it's pretty cool that she's still killing it she's 41. I think the
23:20
oldest active women in the UFC right now and still on top still killing it so I
23:25
hope she gets title chat because she's definitely putting into work and it doesn't seem like she's slowing down at all
23:31
um and the longer she's there the less people are looking at me saying once they're old asking now
23:37
go go die in a ditch somewhere there is like as soon as you get over 30 people
23:42
are like so old in their career it's always a talking point The Ripe old age
23:48
they highlighted it in Red so I I can tell it's eight so yeah no it is it is so I didn't
23:56
realize this until like last week but uh Daniel Cormier was in my DMs because he
24:04
called my fight and so he sent me like a list of questions and it was all age-based and I
24:10
was like [ __ ] you again [ __ ] out of here I'm glad I didn't see that oh my gosh how unprofessional first
24:16
of all to hit shopping at DM I was like why would you do that like you have people
24:22
who can actually call me and ask yeah yeah I was like why are you organizes
24:27
this yeah they could just reach out yeah why didn't you do that what was what was one of the questions do you remember
24:33
hold on I'll bring it up Dango were you drunk were you drunk
24:39
again I feel like half the time he's calling fights he has a little flash
24:44
hidden underneath I mean why not one of his uh suit jacket pockets
24:50
why not right next to his popcorn um so
24:56
oh he said um would you say you still are in the gym as much before even
25:03
though you're older he was drunk look at the grammar can I see that I know what
25:09
what would you say you are still in the gym as much as before even though okay
25:18
that that is worded in the worst way possible I know please work on his side
25:23
but I feel like he was just asking that because he already had the answer he wanted you know he's projecting a little
25:30
bit because he's an old man that was fighting in the cage too well yeah I think I think it's easy to get offended
25:36
but then also see that he was in the same spot oh for sure no I'm I'm not
25:41
offended that I was excited for you but yeah now I see but what it makes my
25:49
mind think is like listen you already like you already know what you want to say you're just trying to get like confirmation that you know you're right
25:56
kind of thing yeah it's like come on man you you already know the answers because you were you were old and you were
26:02
fighting yeah you don't need that answer you can just say when I was old and fighting I wasn't in the gym as much
26:07
perhaps it's the same for you is this true yeah just like create a little bit
26:13
more of like vulnerability and connection before you jump in and call me an old [ __ ] that's all yeah come on
26:19
DC hell no he don't know he doesn't know I'm gonna let him know next time I see him yeah if I ever see him that was very
26:26
rude how dare you sir never ask a woman's age oh my gosh
26:32
um so yeah I wonder if he did the same to Holly [Laughter] [Music]
26:40
um what about let's see so those are the only two fights I really wanted to talk about on that card
26:47
um so let's fast forward to this weekend we got to go to Belvedere thanks to Jessica and her hookup we got to see um
26:56
I didn't even watch the main event but it was actually good I was I was cage for it and I was like talking talking to
27:03
my friend and I was like it's like it's such a toss-up with heavy weights like you either get like
27:09
fireworks or you get like big sweaty dudes like laying on each other which was the case and then bam
27:16
fireworks oh yeah so it ended up working all out I was very happy with the fireworks but I was like I don't know if
27:22
this is gonna happen what round was it it was the last round okay yeah dang that was that was a close one
27:29
yes that was a close one it was almost a year I was losing hope almost like losing hope I like to call them elephant
27:36
Soul fights
27:42
if you've ever watched National Geographic and they have like one of
27:47
those elephants still like documentaries where the males are fighting like thrashing their necks at each other with
27:54
the big Tusk oh the Tusk is flapping every now and then you see a slice on
28:00
the blubber and there's blood everywhere that's that's what it looks like to me brutal yeah no that's that's accurate
28:07
that tracks yeah and then they take a long break and then they get out there and do it again but at less less energy Reserve
28:15
like they're even much more labored and tired yes shorter burst
28:20
but there is always that hope that you hold on to that it is like it's gonna it's gonna be over bam and it was nice
28:28
yeah I saw The Knockout The Knockout was scary it was a big boy it was a nasty
28:35
nasty knockout it was a big big boy yeah and he hit very very hard oh I always say I couldn't
28:42
date someone who's a heavyweight fighter it's hard to be friends with heavyweight Fighters yeah because you're so invested
28:50
emotionally and you know that there's a good chance they're gonna get laid the [ __ ] out it's it's nerve-wracking like I
28:58
enjoy being very distant from them not really seeing them as people
29:04
just like you're out on Safari in the wild yeah like looking at some elephants off on the Prairie on the distance yeah
29:10
but if one of the elephant elephants was like Dumbo and you raised them or whatever and elephant reserve and then
29:17
you're out there watching them then it's gonna feel a lot different so yeah I like how you went to elephants
29:24
after the elephant seal conversation well we're we're really dehumanizing
29:29
these guys for heavyweights they're just big old
29:36
giant elephants they're for our entertainment they don't have feelings but yeah I
29:43
would I would freak out if I was like the wife or the girlfriend or daughter
29:48
of one of those guys because they're really they're really putting a lot more health risk on the line than than we are
29:55
like they're they're risking serious brain damage yeah serious injuries big
30:00
old lumps flying at them like no it I mean it's true I feel like I mean I feel
30:07
like it's just so rare that we see a heavyweight with with a really big record because they just they
30:13
have such a short lifespan yeah they do well like professional fighting
30:19
lifespan is just it can be a lot shorter unless you have a very specific style unless you know
30:25
you've managed to be you know technically sound on the defense and you know really
30:32
elusive yeah it's it's hard yeah it's hard it's a it's a very dangerous weight class I understand why the mainstream
30:39
finds it so appealing because you know there's always that possibility of getting a knockout on like in other
30:45
weight classes where it's just not as as frequent so I I get it I understand but it is it
30:52
is very scary to watch you know to watch it because you you know and you know the risk and you know that you know
31:00
one of those punches could completely change their career yeah their life
31:06
um it's uh and and I think the other part that makes them so cool to watch is
31:12
just how much larger than life they seem like when you meet a heavyweight for the first time that you've been watching on
31:18
TV you're just like oh yeah exactly exactly
31:25
hi Francis he comes to shake your hand and there's
31:30
like two of your hands exactly just like surrounds it yeah encompasses your hand
31:36
I feel like you can just like pick me up with one hand be good oh yeah he could I can I can
31:43
step right into that palm and just be like what are those cheerleader things called
31:48
yeah yeah like post them up yeah he could totally do that
31:53
um so the other fight on that card was cat Sagano versus
31:59
um Molly McCann's girl Leah Leah mix something McCormick McCormick yes
32:07
yes I believe hey yeah good job good job good memory um yeah that fight was pretty
32:13
entertaining um just classic katzegano fight a lot of back
32:19
and forth a lot of like crazy uh takedowns sacrifice throws by a cat
32:24
where she can end up on bottom but then she scrambles back on top um but the craziest thing to me was the
32:31
damage in that fight and I really think that was the main reason she was able to take the fight
32:37
I yeah I hear what you're saying um I feel like cat was I I feel like she
32:43
didn't show up the same way that I normally see her I feel like she gave up a lot of takedowns and she was in
32:51
positions where I don't normally see her I normally see her like if she's on the ground she's on top of someone and she's
32:58
at least scoring and like keeping that person down making that person work and it was just it was a very kind of loose
33:05
fight but I do have to also give credit to Leah because I saw a very much
33:10
improvedly I thought she was just gonna get steamrolled and then when she came out she was going for takedowns she was
33:16
pushing cat back she was uh you know catching kicks and and taking her down so I was really impressed with that
33:22
um that the first round I remember Leia came off of the cage and she had this
33:28
huge like half of her face was completely swollen and it was from um an elbow that cat through a Walia was on
33:35
her back and I just could not believe that it did that much damage yeah and
33:40
then the knee that she threw towards the end of the third round the final round just cut her up so she she looked like
33:47
she went through the ringer she looked like she lost but on the scorecards I
33:54
had it really close I had it one one and then the third round I thought was just so close it could have been a toss-up
34:00
but I felt like Leah could have squeaked it out but the damage I definitely think is what sealed the deal yeah for sure
34:06
like sure her face was split over open in like maybe the last minute of the
34:12
fight so I felt like that sealed the deal for her especially when you have
34:18
the image of them both standing up after the fight her face is covered in blood cat doesn't look like she has a sky I'm
34:26
fine yeah like nothing happened we've got another one I'm ready one more round
34:31
um but the one thing I didn't notice watching tape on uh and her name is
34:36
McCourt McCoy thank you I had to look it up though um but uh the one thing I didn't notice
34:42
was because our friend Janae is so [ __ ] big I didn't realize how big Lea
34:48
McCoy was until I saw her neck a cat and then I was like whoa that's a big girl
34:54
yeah like she's all legs like all just I you she must cut a lot of weight because
35:00
of the way that her face damaged the way that she cut open so fast after one knee a lot of times it takes like several
35:07
knees to get like a a nice clean cut like that it was the first one so I always think oh your skin was really
35:14
close to your face because he had to cut a lot of water in order to make that weight um and Cat just kind of walks in at 140.
35:21
yeah she's definitely she's not I mean she used to compete at 125 which I know was a really hard wake up for her that
35:28
was early in her career and then she you know she fought at 135 which is yeah
35:33
which is a much better healthy weight class for her but 145 is huge yeah like at little 10
35:41
pounds it makes such a big big difference it really does it really does um and that's all the women's weight
35:47
classes are the smaller weight class but that 10 pound jump like you're suddenly fighting giants like Liam McCourt yeah
35:54
so I think that had a lot to do with um her just being able to off balance
36:00
cats so easily uh she easily had about 20 pounds on her that night potentially
36:06
yeah just because one cut weight and one didn't yeah um which really makes me
36:11
wish that they had a 135 in Bellator because there are a lot of girls who
36:16
probably could do one or the other but then I heard I mean not that I heard but
36:21
I saw that there was a 115 weight class there is but there isn't you know there
36:27
was a 115 fight yeah on the card so I'm like oh maybe they're thinking about bringing in 115 at some point they just
36:34
kind of do one-offs when 115. like it it's not
36:39
because the UFC has such a you know a corner on the market with the 115 pounders
36:45
I don't think that they have enough people where they can maybe like legitimize the weight class although I'm
36:51
sure if they tried they could I just don't think it's their focus some people
36:56
um and I'm wondering if they're looking for that one person to build everything around because like with 125 they had a
37:03
Lima they're like okay this one person we could build the whole weight class around at 1 45 they had uh um Chris
37:11
cyborg so they still do have her they do but like a Heritage using contract
37:18
negotiations or like shopping around so we'll see but she's still on the banner for sure I mean she's still coming to
37:24
the fights she was at the previous yeah oh okay I didn't see it like she's still she's still around she wasn't at this
37:30
one but the last one we went to which was what a month ago like she was at that one yeah yeah yeah I've heard that
37:37
she's looking around and trying to test the waters or whatever so we'll see if they still have her unlock but but
37:44
that's where the initial weight class came from exactly super size to build
37:49
the build the card for sure build the weight class around so I'm wondering if they're waiting for someone like that to
37:55
pop up they didn't have the girl with the fat ass that keeps their she's a 125er keeps her from making Adam wait
38:01
because she's her ass is so big so thick so big so bootylicious and I know
38:08
another person whose ass is so big they can't make out of weight
38:14
but I digress we should talk about the uh other fights you want to fight again
38:20
you want to fight again I want a rematch
38:27
when uh what went down yesterday that stuck out to you oh my God okay so
38:33
um game bread had their first their first fight card which was a pretty big
38:40
boxing event and the the most memorable fights that stood out was Gina
38:46
yeah and pearl these are two former UFC
38:51
fighters UFC vets and they fought each other in a boxing match and honestly
38:57
like coming into it I just I wasn't sure how it would go because Gina is she's
39:02
kind of a grinder you know and she looks for the takedown she looks to grind you up against the cage she's never really
39:07
exhibited a ton of like striking it's strike to take down strike to clinch
39:13
kind of thing and pearl has you know a little bit more boxing experience a little bit cleaner striking so I wasn't
39:19
sure what it would look like and Gina took it to her eyes she brought the boxer uh Pearl like
39:27
sometimes yeah a little bewildered yeah the first few rounds and I think she got got a hold of herself I thought it was
39:34
going to be a draw um because the first three rounds I felt like Gina was just like taking her out
39:39
of town and then the last three looked like Pearl finally got her balance and yeah was like okay I'm in a fight I like
39:46
get over it I think Pearl thought she was gonna walk over her because I mean I kind of came in with the same idea that
39:53
you did that Gina doesn't really throw hands with confidence she's only using it to set things up so I was really
40:00
impressed with Tyler yeah I was really impressed yeah and that's what you have to do with somebody who has
40:06
um you know cleaner technique cleaner striking and they're looking to you know set shots up and you know set
40:11
combinations and and just you know be in that kind of Zone you really have to take it to him and overwhelm them and
40:17
take them out of their game and that's what Gina did she did a really great job with it and it was really you know I was really excited for her yeah me too
40:25
um what about uh the main event he had Pettis versus Roy
40:32
Jones well can we talk about our friend first can we talk about Jeremy Stevens yes
40:37
Jose Aldo taking it down I mean that was gonna save the best for lunch sorry we
40:43
could do that no no no no no just you know there's chronological you know orders I know right but but I get it
40:50
yeah um well I'll I'll just I'll just be real I was
40:55
bored you were bored because it was boxing or you were bored because of the fight I
41:00
think I think because it was the last fight I think because
41:06
um I don't know it was very boxing-esque yeah um
41:12
I don't know it didn't I I felt like there was no like Roy Jones flare that
41:18
you usually see yeah like he almost was corked a bit for the fight you know like
41:24
the clawed a bit but he's also an old man he's an old man he's an old man so well like why am I being so hard on him
41:31
um leave him alone Angela what is that about I know but it was it was you know
41:38
it looked like a boxing match I don't know I think I think it was probably too technical for my liking
41:44
you want a bloodbath you want a bra there's one chaos I want to see everyone
41:49
look like Gina I mean it makes for it makes for an
41:55
exciting fight I totally get it it was um it was nice to see the MMA fighters that were you know they really took
42:02
boxing seriously and they put in the work like I have to acknowledge Jeremy Stevens for that he's never he's been
42:09
one of those like kind of I mean he's had good striking but he hasn't been super super you know technical
42:17
setting shots at PJs he's a Savage he just goes at it and he does a great job at that uh but he looked really
42:23
technical in his fight against Jose and Jose trains like he's always said that you know he was doing a lot more boxing
42:30
training and he was training with the Brazilian um you know National boxing team and he swears a lot of boxing so we
42:35
already knew him as you know a a technician but to see Jeremy put in the work
42:41
and and just execute things and just you know look like he was boxing out there I was really impressed with him well I
42:47
think the thing with Strikers a lot of time um when they go from MMA to boxing is
42:54
you see that they always had those skills but because there's so many
42:59
options and so many things to look out for in MMA you can't really show for sure the [ __ ] that you do on pads all
43:07
the time so we're we're seeing Jeremy hit like clean like pools and rolling
43:12
under punches and hitting angles and stuff like that and there's things that you don't see in MMA because he has to
43:19
worry about getting kicked in the head he has to worry about getting taken down like it's um I think it almost even
43:25
though there's less that you can throw there's more that you can do with the few tools that you have
43:33
oh for sure two tools but you can do a lot more with them because you don't have to worry about all this other stuff
43:38
so and he doesn't have to worry about getting kicked in the leg you know like that's a big thing when you're fighting
43:44
Jose Aldo yeah so I thought it was really impressive I was I was kind of surprised that people were saying that
43:51
auto was robbed um it went to the majority drop yeah I didn't see that either I thought Jeremy
43:58
might have taken it and I'm supervised you know I'm super biased everything he does I'm I'm scoring it double when I'm
44:05
watching it but also I just felt like he was Landing the harder shots I felt like
44:10
um when he landed clean it had more effect on Aldo and you can see the
44:16
frustration he was getting pushed back um I think Aldo was Landing more volume
44:21
towards the end uh but I just felt like Jeremy was was doing really well and
44:28
might have taken four rounds but yeah yeah I think robbery was was that's a
44:34
that's a strong thing to say I think draw was very fair and I'd love to see
44:40
it again and it seems like they'd love to do it again they they looked like they were having fun in there yeah and I
44:45
think there was um you know I just saw a lot of you know nods of mutual respect you know they've been in there before
44:51
against each other and I think they were really enjoying themselves and I tend to be a little bit more
44:59
um like harsh on people I know because I know what they're capable of so I just but I thought he did a really good job
45:06
like I really got behind and I'm like oh you know maybe it didn't go his way or maybe this or maybe that but I thought he did a great job yeah
45:13
yeah uh any other fights uh that you want to mention on there
45:19
I think that that is all yeah for that card yeah
45:28
um and then one last fight I want to talk about is uh Brendan uh oh yes we
45:35
have to give the young lad a shout out but we can do it in our exclusive 15.
45:42
we'll come back and talk about Brandon pfl champ and his performance against right on my eyes we'll be right
45:49
back foreign
