0:04
it's fine there we go no come back oh buddy sorry and away we
0:21
go hello we're back with with another episode of two STS two STS for those of
0:28
you listening on Spotify and apple podcast we just clinked our multi-racial
0:35
Santa Claus mugs together because that's what we
0:40
need these days a little bit of Harmony you know it doesn't hurt it doesn't it doesn't um we have a great
0:49
show planned for you basically you guys planned it out because I asked on YouTube what uh questions everyone had
0:56
for us and there were a bunch of questions so we got a bunch of stuff to talk about they were good questions not
1:03
not the sexual kind that we normally get on Instagram by you degenerates what do you like an amend is it
1:10
me would you like me inside of you yeah show me your feet oh my God can I pay
1:18
for your pedicure actually I wouldn't mind that you can go ahead and do that that's fine that's fine I was so pissed
1:24
was it uh yeah you you had a fight Camp you had a fight week and he was like oh
1:29
can can I pay for your pedicure and I was like yo give me let me let him hook me up too tell
1:35
him tell him tell him your corner woman pack deal it's a package deal you know
1:41
we come as a set yeah if you're not hooking up your girl's friends is she even your girl no like you got to buy
1:48
your girl's friend's dinner at least once in your relationship otherwise she's cheating on you exactly and do it
1:55
up front so you can set you know you can get on their good side right away yeah they'll be like you know who I like that
2:02
man with the wallet he is so handsome and smart and successful you should
2:09
marry him you should marry him meanwhile he's in debt with 50 credit cards but he paid
2:15
for dinner as as a gentleman should as he should so we got some good questions um
2:21
but first uh Jessica has some cool stuff coming up on Christmas after yeah so I
2:29
am um I'm going to AUA centes oo Mexico
2:34
sounds delicious yeah it is um I can't wait to find something to bring back to you oh yay yes something
2:58
voodooyoutube santoria and there are other like um sex of it I guess okay yes
3:04
did she say sex I did DMS blow up
3:11
again so tell me more about those sex and the sex in
3:17
Mexico not spelled the same yeah but um so there's
3:24
sorry um there's a a new organization that is um starting in barle boxing
3:31
they're testing out their first show O um so I'm going down Charles Rosa is going to be there okay um and I think um
3:38
a couple other bare knuckle boxers I I posted it a little while ago on my story and everybody thought that I was going
3:44
to do bare knuckle boxing that is not the case never never going to be the case they might they might slip you in
3:50
there one day you keep hanging around Riff Raff you know they say you lie down with dogs you get fleas mhm you get bare
3:57
knuckle boxed you start be knuckle boxing yeah but it's um yeah so it's their first
4:04
organization and they're kind of um trying to be the like testing ground for
4:10
people that are going into like bkfc okay they have kind of a partnership with them thater League yeah which is
4:18
well it's it's challenging and my question initially was I was like how are you going to do like amateur barle
4:24
boxing do you give them gloves so they're going to do a type of glove I recommended almost like a bag glove like
4:30
uh Cleo Rees and other you know brands of um MMA gear boxing gear they have
4:36
kind of like this um like a small glove but it's like not super structured just
4:42
give them MMA gloves give them the [ __ ] like it's kind of the same right kind of
4:49
knuckle dusters just give knuckle dusters yeah but I thought padding on them so I thought that it would be like
4:55
an easier transition for people to understand or or kind of um I don't know
5:01
what the word is but it would be an easier transition for people to see them wearing the closed gloves instead of the
5:06
MMA gloves yeah you know what I'm saying because it's technically boxing boxing gloves look different than MMA gloves
5:12
yeah I get that but at the same time it still sounds
5:19
like I don't know it still sounds like it's not bar
5:25
boxi maybe maybe they just do it in a way where it's like shorter
5:30
rounds because that's what you do in amateurs just shorter rounds um in like amateur MMA you can't throw certain
5:38
things um maybe there's no clinch strikes in amateur because that's when
5:44
people really get messed up uh but it it seems to defeat the purpose right of
5:49
yeah you got to send a picture of those gloves so we can see what what they came to the conclusion with yeah I'm I'm
5:56
interested to see how it's all going to work I'm a little skeptical but at the same time I'm very supportive these are
6:01
you know great people and I think they really believe in the sport they're huge fans and supporters of of Fighters
6:07
they're always sponsoring shows and you know what the glove thing isn't that big of a deal as long as it's the same rule
6:13
set because I think that's the thing that throws off boxers a lot more than um than like MMA fighters is the fact
6:21
that the rule set makes it so you can clinch strike you can uh you have to
6:27
start right in front of them uh there's a lot less referee interference so
6:32
boxers kind of fade when they're not used to that part and then MMA fighters are like yeah hockey punch City you know
6:38
yeah that's why MMA fighters are having a lot of success in barole boxing because it's a little bit easier of a
6:44
transition the the rule set tends to to favor the MMA fighter because they're just used to those clinches the dirty
6:51
boxing whereas boxers aren't used to being like touched and like pulled and grinded on that's like my uh my goto
6:59
cheap move when I'm sparring boxers I grind on them yeah they don't like it
7:04
they hate it they hate it not just grinding but just grabing and you know being annoying and and pot shot well
7:12
they don't have to fight out of it the the ref they freeze the referee separates them yeah and I'm just like
7:18
you know like I haven't been able to hit you until now so I'm going take
7:24
advantage we've all been there finally pass that goddamn Jab
7:31
so yeah it's that's like our area where we can take advantage of a boxer who's used to staying long so I I I'm I'm
7:38
actually on board with the gloves in the feeder League just because it's the because you're yeah my my complaint or
7:47
concern was that by the time they get to Bare knuckle they're going to have so much damage in Scar Tissue because
7:54
that's a really tough like sport to be an amateur in that's a lot of damage to
8:00
accumulate um depending on how long your amateur career is and if you're just starting and you're just going straight
8:05
into bare knuckle boxing that's a lot of potential damage yeah no I agree so I
8:10
like that they are going to do you know a type of glove um that'll you know help Fighters
8:17
be able to get to to the Big Show which is you know always the goal you're always trying to to get to the highest
8:23
level that you can when you're an athlete and you know competing and be Knuckles seems to be the biggest guy on
8:29
the outside right now like we just heard about gfl which uh truly is involved
8:36
with as well we keep seeing new people getting signed every day I'm I'm guessing that everyone is signed but
8:43
they are just slowly announcing every person that's been signed with them um but aside from that and you know the the
8:51
pfl is kind of slowing down they're not really fighting the bellad people which was the other big guy and those guys
8:58
have only gotten half the amount of fights that they got the previous year and then you have 1fc where we have
9:04
Champions coming out of 1fc and saying don't go to go there yo I mean uh what's
9:09
his name deritter like actually like kind of faked his retirement just to get out of the contract that's insane it's
9:15
crazy smart but I mean I think that's only going to work once yeah like The Jig Is up it's like the guy who escaped
9:22
North Korea is like great everyone you left behind is dead now yeah that'll never happen again
9:29
happen again never happen again good job good for you though that onec is North Korea but you know what I'm
9:37
saying basically uh it seems like the outside of the UFC Big Show people are
9:45
drying up but bkfc is one of these promotions that even though it's a brutal Sport and it's really hard to uh
9:52
be successful in they're paying big paychecks like big boy paychecks and there aren't many places now uh so it's
9:59
cool to see them really growing their talent so the the pre glims isn't just
10:05
some kid who you know has a box rack and just gets knocked out immediately
10:10
because they're not used to it they can actually build their career towards being good at this one sport I think
10:16
it's a really important thing to have in all sports you know all sports have this you know you start off at a young age
10:22
you get up into a different division got a high school college and then there's the professional leagues there's
10:27
different um there's like like you know the minors and the professional like there's just so many options for people
10:33
so I do like the idea that there is a place where you're not just going straight into the pros and figuring it
10:38
out as you get there and then maybe not being as successful maybe running into some things and not knowing who you are as a fighter yeah so I think that it's I
10:45
think it's a great idea no me too I'm excited for this is there a way to watch the event that you're going to um I will
10:52
have that information as it comes I think it's going to be on YouTube or it's going to be like a a pay-per-view
10:58
on a but I don't have that information yet but I will definitely keep you guys posted and what day is that it's on the
11:05
28th o fun and there's no fights so if we can watch it yes tune in yeah we'll
11:11
post it on the community tab yeah and um I'll keep you guys posted I'll I'll try to remember I'm so bad when I travel
11:17
like not posting stories and I just try to be really present I never know where you are I know I know I'm like hey you
11:24
want to film today you're like I'm in guadalahara like what
11:30
why why didn't you tell me where's your dog Grace is
11:37
fine it's like all right yeah um by I was just in Alabama I did a walk through
11:44
on an investment property o yeah in Tuscaloosa right near campus wow so
11:50
people call you up uh to uh check out places in other states yeah so well this
11:56
one is my own property oh nice yeah yeah this one is my own but through my real
12:02
estate group I have um a great network of real estate agents in you know cities all over the country every state and we
12:09
have Canada and Mexico as well so if I you know want to have an investment property in Mexico or Canada or Alabama
12:17
I I you know have that resource so it's pretty cool that's awesome I always thought about doing that because [ __ ]
12:23
San Diego California everywhere out here is so [ __ ] expensive dude it's insane
12:29
and and I I just you know made the decision I've been you know wanting to have my my own property but at the same
12:36
time I'm like I don't know where I would have it here because everything is so expensive and it's just I I would need a
12:43
co-signer I would need all these things I would need a lot more income coming in um to qualify for something that I can
12:50
have like property with yeah and so I just made the decision that I'm going to start the investment route and just get
12:58
equity and and like build myself that way and then rent in California nice no
13:04
that sounds that's really smart I kind of looked out cuz my like big seveny year fight seven fights in one year
13:11
stint happened like right before covid or right after Co um but because of that
13:17
like all the rates were really low we were able to like sneak in and get a house that was like way under market
13:23
value and yeah like that that was my first like uh real estate purchase but
13:28
it like if those things didn't line up I probably wouldn't have had a house you
13:34
know what I mean like it it was like Perfect Storm of events for me horrible for most people but like because of the
13:42
[ __ ] that was going on I was able to capitalize and get a property no you're so fortunate and I mean it's awesome
13:49
that you had that opportunity to take it you know yeah but most likely I shouldn't
13:54
have that shouldn't have happened well well it did and I'm
13:59
thankful I'm very grateful for my fortunateness um but yeah that's awesome
14:05
that's really cool so uh did you like it did you get the place um yeah so I did my my walkth through and then I closed
14:11
on the 31st so Merry Christmas to me and over here yes and then I went and
14:20
looked at some other uh like other investment properties out there too so I'm excited would you ever live out
14:26
there I me I could I could live any to be honest I thought it was really pretty
14:31
okay um I don't know if I necessarily live in Tuscaloosa just cuz it's like more of a a college town but I think
14:38
it's a really good spot to have an investment property for sure there's just always College stuff going around
14:44
like all the time yeah yeah I thought it was really beautiful just a lot of green
14:49
like everything's like foresty it's very I mean it's not technically the East Coast but it has that like East Coast
14:56
Vibe yeah well it's like South South Coast southeast coast soueast yeah
15:02
everything's so green and Lush over there you could you can imagine why the pilgrims arrived and we're like yeah
15:09
let's uh let's do this let's put a bunch of slaves on this make a girl ship for
15:17
us and cheers holiday
15:23
cheers Oh I thought it was really pretty yeah I don't think I've ever been but
15:29
it it seems like a nice area like all those like places um where were
15:34
we H where are we is it like anywhere near Nashville is no it's in that like
15:42
quadrant of America right yeah it's similar it has that kind of Nashville Vibe where it's like really green and
15:50
people are like a little bit friendlier there like whenever I go to areas like that I'm like okay I get this like uh it
15:57
it reminds me of uh shits Creek yes you know like I'm like I could live in shit's creek I feel like I would have
16:03
a you could buy a motel I could that's that should be your you know there are like um I was looking at some apartment
16:10
complexes and this is like you know the the the dream the goal you know you can buy an apartment complex out there for
16:16
like a million bucks what like 30 units that's crazy I'm not kidding you no it's
16:22
insane it's insane that's what I should do yeah I I have an agent if you need help I I just need a few more fights
16:28
yeah exactly I for one more place yeah no it's um so that's the goal like I've
16:34
always I mean I got into real estate and I wanted but I wanted to be a landlord I
16:40
got to real estate to try and like figure things out and just learn as I go and now I'm realizing that or like I'm
16:47
actualizing my my dream of becoming a landlord so cuz I can't have a
16:53
boss I'm the [ __ ] ain't going to work out I'm the boss I mean I I can take
16:58
ction I I can do all this stuff but I don't think that um me working in like a
17:05
corporate setting is going to be great for me or or anybody else I don't think anybody's going to have a good time any any Fighter coming from a fighter
17:12
lifestyle where you were fortunate enough to be able to fight as a job
17:18
there's no hope for you you got figure out something else to be someone's like to be bossed by
17:26
someone like there's no hope for that boss to my cubicle and tries to tell me what to do oh you want to fight yeah
17:33
sure let's put the glasses and they're going to fill that energy you won't say you want to fight but you'll just look at them like oh you need those uh you
17:40
need those reports I don't even know what corporate people talk about but you need those assessment
17:48
reports all right you come get them and they're and they're not going to go anywhere near you because they're going
17:55
to be terrified because you're probably going to be flexing on aess and no it's
18:00
no it's a real thing everyone knows that you all the UFC fighter you know and that's what happens at like at my Market
18:07
Center I don't I don't go in there very much and like people know that I fight and they think it's really cool but it
18:13
also I feel like it kind of makes me a little bit unapproachable also this makes me unapproachable The non-s
18:19
Smiling thing the Dead Pan yeah I mean I feel like uh I feel like with everyone
18:25
though you get away with being kind of bossy up into a certain extent and then
18:32
you remember like at some point you make a face that makes them remember that you
18:37
used to fight people for a living and I will fight you and they chill the [ __ ] out and then real quick nothing gets
18:44
done like well guess we're all going to go out of business because you can't handle me and I don't want to be handled
18:51
no it's really funny when you know just a a a non-f fighter person kind of
18:57
throws attitude I'm like really are you serious that's cute oh I saw this try again I saw this Tik Tok about
19:04
guys in Japan and I forget what they were called but they are serial shoulder
19:10
bumpers so they they'll pick out like a weak looking girl in the crowd and
19:16
they'll go they'll cut across the hallway and try to bump you with their shoulder going the opposite way or if
19:23
they're behind you and you're kind of walking slow or you're looking at your phone or something like that they'll going shoulder bump you to get past you
19:31
and this is like a Serial thing that's been happening in Japan and like they've knocked girls out doing this like they
19:38
like knock them onto the floor a gang thing like like a group of men it's just
19:44
like a trend of it's like chain snatching it's like a trend of things that start a trend that started
19:49
happening in Japan where like these frustrated men who or young men who
19:55
probably have nothing going on in their like social or romantic life they take
20:00
it out on these young women who look weak and it's their way of being misogynistic yeah exactly so I saw that
20:08
I'm like oh I wish some wish [ __ ] like first of all you're going to hurt your shoulder cuz I'm sturdy
20:14
look at those [ __ ] [Laughter] things I don't I don't think I give off
20:22
the vibe as somebody that somebody could do that to no I don't I don't think I
20:27
have that but saw you from behind they might just be looking at that ass wiggle wiggle wobble wobble wobble
20:34
wobble I'mma knock her ass over make that [ __ ] jiggle all over the place dude I wish somebody would sometimes
20:40
sometimes I'm just like we should go to Japan we should seek these guys out
20:46
somehow make ourselves look very weak like wear a bunch of
20:51
coats just trying to look Meek and like I'm not aware of my surroundings yeah
20:57
just walking around with your phone in the air um but yeah that guy for some
21:02
reason that reminded me of that but I do feel like um yeah well Fighters you got to find some way to be an entrepreneur
21:10
afterwards um because it's just really hard to get a regular job it's not and
21:15
it's not just uh the way that your boss treats you but it's also you know if you're doing something in the service
21:20
industry it's like oh aren't you so and so or didn't you used to fight or aren't
21:26
you random name of another black woman who fought but is not you you
21:31
know like you're in the right vicinity you're getting hotter now how would you like your latte
21:37
you know it's just like hard it's hard to get back out into the job scene after being I guess a someone who's been seen
21:45
on TV yeah I'm also just I'm very used to like a a pretty flexible schedule yes
21:52
you know I mean I like routine in my life I like structure but at the same time I need to be able to like mix and
21:59
match and change things around if I need to just I like to do my own thing at all
22:05
times if I uh feel sick I like to not go into work it's a benefit we have like
22:12
you can't do it all the time because then you're just going to go to your fight and get beat up
22:18
but if you plan it out right you can take the six days that you need and
22:24
still be very successful so I think it's a yeah it's a tough one for for fighter to jump into but we have a ton of fan
22:32
questions so let's jump into those do you have that pulled up I do my lady is
22:37
there one that jumps out in your eyes and you want to just unwrap it like a fresh present under the
22:45
tree uh right at the top um we have first CD album you bought
22:52
oh [ __ ] I should have thought about this I saw the questions I said I should have
22:58
planned accordingly I think the first CD I bought was the Lauren Hill one um not
23:06
uh miseducation uh the one before that what was the one before that I got to look it
23:12
up I can see that but it was definitely Lauren Hill and I loved her I we like always
23:21
wanted to get our teeth widened so we could wear white outfits and we would
23:26
look like her cuz there was some music video that Lauren hild or a photo shoot or something where her teeth were as
23:32
white as the clothes she was wearing and she looked [ __ ] gorgeous with her dreads and everything like she looked
23:38
[ __ ] gorgeous I like I loved her I worshiped her so hard when I was in high school that album was definitely in my
23:46
five dis CD changer hey along with like Wilson Phillips Rhythm Nation Michael
23:55
Jackson's um and then who else
24:00
there was yeah Michael Jackson was a m education I think it was yeah yeah that
24:05
was the first album it it must have been a Fuji was the first one that I got but
24:10
then miss education came out right after and I was like yes yes no more guys only
24:17
Lauren Hill what about what was your do you remember your very first my very first
24:24
was probably a cassette tape and it was probably New Kids on the Block that's how old we are that was my first concert
24:30
as well when I was in elementary school and that is probably the first and I I know if I put on those songs I could
24:37
still probably every word every word I like I hear things from you know high
24:44
school and Junior High and even elementary school and I can still like remember stuff yes it's crazy to me the
24:50
waterfalls album oh so many songs that was the other one TLC was another one
24:55
TLC for sure um man what else I can't think for it my first uh random ass
25:03
white boy album was [Music] Creed dude Creed takes a bad rap man
25:10
they they have a bad rap people give them a lot of crap but they're good I thought Creed was amazing I loved Creed
25:18
Creed and puddle of Mud yes pardon um I got to figure out which
25:24
album it is though but those are that was my first introduction to like white
25:30
boy music and I thought it was pretty cool when I heard it for the first time
25:35
and then every white person I tried to like Vibe with afterwards CU I grew up in a in a very black neighborhood like
25:43
mostly black high school so when I got to college I was like oh yeah so well do you listen to because it was in an art
25:49
school so it was like 99% black to 99% white so I got to college and I'm like
25:55
oh you guys listen to creat they're like
26:02
what should have said Nirvana or something I was so I was so ready to to bond with my white Brethren who also
26:10
listened to this type of music like no try
26:16
again I was so out of the loop so it is what it is okay I like Creed y I think
26:23
just I think just a couple days ago I heard their uh what was it like Rockstar or something like that
26:29
we all just want to be big rock stars wait I don't remember that one it's a really good one and I knew most of the
26:35
words and I hadn't heard it in probably like two decades see that's the problem is like I don't I just remember like the
26:42
song but I forget what they actually were called that's Nickelback no oh
26:47
Nickelback Never mind okay there's a few of them o nerd nerd was uh one of my
26:53
early CDs too um and and yeah there's a bunch
27:01
there's a bunch but those are the first ones those are the first ones for sure what else we got all right signs of
27:07
a bad fighting gym and Coach O that's a really good one oh do you want to start with this one or you want me to start uh
27:14
you can start uh signs of a very bad coach I think um if they don't
27:22
compete I think that can be not a sign but it could be a red flag if they do
27:29
compete and they lose a lot that is a sign you know and there's a few gems
27:35
like when I was coming up in Muay Tha there was always that one gem where you
27:40
were like oh so and so has an opponents like where are they from they like oh they're from this gym you're like don't worry about it you got this all right
27:49
this is a tea up you're a this is a good one for you I know nothing about the person you're fighting but this is a
27:55
good one so you don't want to go to that gym yeah uh because for whatever reason
28:00
all their guys are losing they could have bad technique they could like just not be having a good program when it
28:07
comes to getting to fight team together and and in shape and learning uh the
28:12
correct ways to do this and that so I think that's another big one and uh just
28:18
not enjoying being there is a big sign that a lot of people surprisingly ignore
28:24
for some reason I am one of those people yeah you got to enjoy being there in my very first gy um evolu Muay Tha for
28:33
anyone listening in New York I loved walking in there because the people were
28:38
great uh my head coach Brandon Levi he was just such a fun character he's
28:44
Australian guy uh really hammed up the accent even though he's lived in America forever and uh and he just made it like
28:51
a really fun environment and then you would have these other people like my
28:56
jiujitsu guy and I would go over there and I just immediately get sad you know just
29:02
immediately just I got to go do this thing and it's not because I didn't like Jiu-Jitsu because every time I learned
29:08
something new I was really excited about it but just the vibe was not my cup of
29:14
tea and it's like some people like kind of the boot camp fill or the or the uh
29:20
you know military fill or or this or that or feeling like you're in grade
29:25
school and if you like that that's great but if you don't like it you should probably go somewhere where you're going to have fun going there cuz it's an easy
29:34
way to quit too you're either going to quit or you're going to associate doing the thing with not liking it
29:40
yeah um for me like the the first thing that came up to my mind was I had a
29:46
really good first coach uh Jeremy Williams he's he passed away many years ago and the people the the teammates at
29:56
the gym kind of took over and and you know made us a new home and with that
30:03
there were you know new coaches coming in and there was a very good example of of a bad coach and it was um this this
30:11
boxing guy who talked very well he was like a good salesman Ah that's another
30:17
sign yeah if you're if you're a good cars salesman then you're selling me a
30:22
lemon probably yeah and he was the kind of person that you know would
30:28
project his insecurities by by trying to control his Fighters I think especially in MMA like boxing might be different
30:35
kickboxing might be different their um Jiu-Jitsu might be a little bit different but in MMA specifically like
30:41
we need to be able to cross train a lot yeah it's just you're never going to get all the things you need under under one
30:48
gym and I can't say never but in my experience that has not happened I usually have to Outsource a lot and when
30:56
a coach starts becoming controlling and and negative and then yelling because
31:03
you're doing something out of his scope of control I think that that is a sign of a very bad coach um it just breeds
31:09
more insecurity and I think that MMA fighters specifically need to be able to
31:15
cross train at other gyms and need to be able to go do things and cannot
31:20
necessarily be be stuck with one coach yeah there there has to be like kind of
31:26
a an open situation relationship you need to be able to you know cuz if
31:32
you're good enough then they'll keep coming back to you yeah you know if you're not
31:37
situations if you're not a good coach if you're an insecure coach if you don't uh if you think somebody's going to
31:43
constantly try and leave you you're going to do whatever you can to keep them there and that will stunt growth
31:49
that'll prohibit a fighter from like truly meeting their potential yeah I I I and I get um from a coach's perspective
31:56
why you would want people to focus in on like what you're teaching them as
32:02
opposed to getting advice from 10 other coaches about how how to throw the same punch but I I think that there has to be
32:11
um an understanding that hey if you want to go Spar here if you want to go do
32:16
whatever with these training partners because there's more people your size here or there's a you know there's a a a
32:24
class that works with your schedule there that's fine but you have to and work with me for these amount of
32:30
days if you want to fight under me I think that's like a good reasonable agreement to have with a fighter
32:36
especially once you get to competition level once you're like a pro and you
32:42
kind of know what you're doing at that point like once you're a pro you're supposed to know what you're doing it's not necessarily the case like it wasn't
32:48
the case for me but technically once you're a pro you're supposed to know what you're doing so
32:53
you can't really control an athlete at that point they're an adult they can make their own decisions um but yeah I I
33:01
think whenever I talk to someone they're like ah I want to come but my coach doesn't like it when I do this and that
33:07
I'm like all right you know it it always gives me uh this uh ick feeling because
33:14
I feel like uh you know either they're using it as an excuse or if the coach is actually keeping them from getting
33:21
better and getting different looks and that type of thing then that's not the greatest coach like if you're coaching
33:27
is good then your fighter will stick with you and sometimes you'll have a hardhead fighter that will leave you
33:34
even though you did all the right things but that's you shouldn't be putting all your
33:40
eggs in that basket of being able to walk this fighter down the hall to win their championship belt like you should
33:47
be focusing on your Gem and just nurturing every part of the gem and not putting all this weight on a fighter to
33:53
like make your gem or make you famous and I you see a lot of that too a lot of
33:58
times I get weirded out about the star coaches too where it's like it's more
34:04
about the coach being there than whoever he's like coaching when it comes to
34:10
fight night and stuff like you get the flashy guys they like do the crazy pad work and they jump over the top rope
34:16
just to put water in their figh in their
34:22
Fighters who's not going to make it about them because especially during fight week it is it's about the fighter
34:29
like it should not be about anybody else or anything else like everything is about that fighter and supporting them
34:35
because they're going into battle and you were there to support so I get what you're saying about the the attention
34:42
Seekers yeah yeah you see that a lot too so those are our kind of red flags for
34:48
um a bad gym another thing you got to watch out for is when the rumors start
34:55
about like um professional like that's another thing
35:00
that's kind of scary and unfortunately it pops up a lot in like the the MMA
35:06
world and in the martial arts world and Jiu-Jitsu world there's been a lot of people getting exposed recently so I
35:13
don't know like I I I feel like if you're bringing your kids into a gym
35:19
like talk to the parents talk to the kids like make sure uh that person isn't
35:25
doing something weird taking kids out to tournaments sharing hotel rooms with
35:30
them telling them they got to perform special exercises before they like this is [ __ ] that came out this year and it's
35:37
really sad and really scary like it makes me scared to uh you know bring a child into martial arts because you
35:43
never know who who's going to be watching them and who's going to be a creep because they're like renowned like
35:49
world champion type people who are getting exposed all of a sudden but uh
35:54
yeah just make sure you're very uh communicative uh is that how you say that
36:00
communicative potato potato just make sure you're talking to your freaking kids ask questions talk to
36:07
your kids make them feel yeah and uh yeah if your kid doesn't want to go anymore and they
36:13
don't come up with a good excuse just let them quit you know yeah that's a that's always fail
36:20
safe listen to your kids yeah just ask questions H God that [ __ ] scares me but
36:26
adult wise too don't let your coach tricky into being in a relationship with them until uh you know he's going to put
36:33
a ring on it well said it's like a lot of uh
36:39
female Fighters are married titter coaches is like a a thing it no it is a thing it's people spend so much time in
36:47
close proximity you really get to know somebody oh wait it's on this side whoops it's been a long
36:54
[Laughter] marriage where's my ring I don't
37:00
know yeah it's just um it yeah there's there's a special type of closeness that
37:06
people experience when you're you know training Blood Sweat and Tears every single day and you know going to battle
37:13
together it's just one of those things where you um bond in a way that um that's just very special
37:22
yeah make sure to watch Kingdom too if you lots of lots lots of bonding scenes
37:28
in the gy with that one all right what what else we got all right um who loses
37:34
their belt first in 2025 Dam all right um let's see who the
37:40
Champions are all right so we have uh Islam
37:46
mahak Alexander Penta morab D Ilia
37:52
Toria Islam oh wait balal Muhammad uh
37:57
dupes Alex Pera Jon Jones Valentina shevchenko Zen
38:04
Wy and Juliana p h interesting I'm is it
38:10
wrong if I say wh it's not wrong she's got she's got a tough fight coming up
38:16
she does but um uh isn't it crazy that this fight is coming off a totally fight
38:25
year Tatiana Suarez hasn't fought in 2024 and she gets title fight in 2025 so
38:32
that goes to show you just like the lack of contenders that there are at strawweight that they're just forcing
38:38
this thing to happen like they haven't even said what happened with the Vera matchup they just said kind of oh there
38:45
were health issues well she's fighting Yan now right I mean she was asking for it but I
38:52
don't know if that's bucked oh okay I think she just went on Twitter and was like hey let's fight cuz like either way
38:58
I'll still Beck yeah I'll get a paycheck and when I beat you I'll still be right
39:04
there or if you win I my number probably won't move so let's fight um which I
39:09
think is smart for her but they haven't really said why they pulled her from
39:16
that matchup so it's it's just kind of being forced I think they took an opportunity with Suarez having to pull
39:23
from the original fight they're like well none of these other cards are going to work you're just going to have to
39:28
fight for the belt and she's like okay if you insist I I it's one of those things you
39:34
don't turn down no hell no never never ever ever this is why you're here no no
39:40
you're never going to turn that down and uh will Le she's probably excited because she's getting Suarez at her most
39:47
vulnerable which is not being able to have a warmup fight you know she's been
39:53
out for a year she's had injuries she's had a health issue that we don't know what it is but um whatever it was she
39:59
couldn't show up for her original date which is supposed to be December I think
40:04
that December uh 13th card or something like that so uh she wasn't able to make
40:10
that one but now she's going to be able to fight whe in February February so uh this is a great time for Willie to to
40:17
get rid of that Contender for a long time because she can beat her when she's
40:23
a little rusty maybe be able to hit her keep her keep the fight on De feat she
40:28
knew this match up was going to come for a while so you know she's been working on her grappling her grappling has
40:33
looked awesome in her last couple of last three or four fights yeah she's finished everyone in her
40:39
last oh uh I was talking about Tatiana yeah oh yeah well yeah obviously Tatiana's grappling has always looked
40:46
awesome but uh waye is the one where we're like oh how is she going to do on the ground and uh her grappling has been
40:54
looking improved in every fight that she's had so I'm excited for this one um
41:00
I also think she's probably welcome welcoming it because her uh lmos fight
41:05
and her Zan and Yan fight uh she got pieced up on the feet she was getting hurt she had to Grapple so I wonder if
41:14
she's in a bit of relief that she doesn't have to worry about the hands so
41:19
much as the takedowns in this yeah but now she has to worry about the takedown pressure of Tatiana Suarez yeah but it's
41:25
different you know like no for sure it's different it's different being able to lean onto something you're more
41:30
comfortable doing because wh comes from that like striking heavy striking background she can lean on that more so
41:37
than forcing herself to do something that she's a little more new to which is the grappling aspect getting takedowns
41:44
forcing those submissions you know because uh she she looked a little less comfortable on the feed in the last
41:50
couple of fights because she was taking damage so I'm excited for this one I wonder uh how it's going to go I feel
41:56
like they the game plans are obvious I don't think you're going to see Suarez trying to knock out Willie or
42:03
Willie trying to sub Suarez but you never know you never know to see how it
42:08
plays out yeah um oh but what were we talking about uh their oh who's goingon to lose their BT I I mean if if uh we
42:17
talked about it with rose where you know you're fighting someone who wants to take it to the ground but you shoot on them anyway and like it could just be a
42:25
reaction like uh oh this is what we've been working like this punch to the takedown has been working with everyone
42:30
and you can accidentally do that against the person that you don't want to go to the ground with and end up in a bad
42:36
position so I feel like uh I feel like there's a possibility of that happening and we might see way just kind of be the
42:45
the creator of our own demise in a way like remember uh Holly Hol versus uh
42:51
Kayla Harris everyone's like what are you doing she shot on it I was one of those people screaming that what are you
42:57
doing but but Holly Holm is another person who has been thriving because she
43:03
started focusing on her wrestling focusing on her grappling and she was able to dominate a lot of people who we
43:09
thought were going to give her trouble because of that uh Arena Alana um who
43:14
else was it I think catlyn maybe but there were a couple of fights where she was just able to take them down and make
43:19
them look stupid and then she did the same thing against Kayla was like whoopsie yeah not that one no not that
43:26
one go back to the other game plan from years ago the one that worked against those guys so uh so yeah you never know
43:33
but human era is a big thing and I think when you drill something for so many years because everyone's trying to uh
43:41
come at you with a certain game plan and then you have to switch gears it can be a little tough yeah so interesting
43:48
interesting so I think way might lose her belt also how about JN Jones uh he
43:54
was going to be mine hey tell me why J you John Jones hater I am not I am not
44:02
but I am really excited that that the Tom aspinal fight and Jon Jones fight
44:07
could potentially happen in 2025 I mean we've been hearing a lot of Buzz about it yeah um Dana
44:15
says that it could potentially happen that a Dana Santa Dana has it
44:22
under the tree for us what he says happens you know if he says it's going to happen it's going to happen and if he
44:27
says it's not going to happen it's going to happen but he said it's going to happen so it's definitely going to happen
44:33
sooner than later yeah so I mean I I think that the things that Jon Jones has
44:40
said about about him not wanting to fight are are really telling you know he's
44:46
fighting he's going to have to fight somebody that is Young and motivated and
44:51
is fast fast and strong bigger than Jon Jones uh has been fighting at
44:57
heavyweight a lot more naturally and uh confidently for a long time I just
45:02
hasn't taken as much damage to has not taken as much damage and I mean not that Jon Jones has taken a ton of damage in
45:08
his fights he's usually the dominant one but still he's had a long career yeah
45:14
train he has been in some Wars so I think that I'm just really excited to see like a potential Changing of the
45:21
Guard here um I don't I don't necessarily like the you know young eating the old cuz I'm always a roote
45:27
for the Vets but I'm just very intrigued by this fight me too especially because he gave us such blue balls for for so
45:34
long like we've been wanting this fight for the last two years we've been wanting this fight since uh since he
45:41
destroyed his knee against Curtis blades you know so now we finally get the opportunity of this fight to happen and
45:48
everyone's super excited about it I I'm kind of leaning towards Jones on this
45:53
one though I feel like he might be able to use his veteran Savvy to upset the
46:00
game and yeah potentially I mean he is he is the goat like I know there's a lot of of talk about mahak Chev being the
46:07
goat and stuff like that but I think Jon Jones really is he is something special he is he's something fantastic and I
46:14
love watching him fight um I just I think this is a really intriguing matchup I kind of think it's rude that
46:21
people call Islam mahak the goat when excuse me no oh no oh God my nose is
46:28
getting stuffed it's Islam he crawled up in my nose uh when he's only defended
46:35
the belt against volkanovski twice yeah and uh and um uh and uh
46:44
uh who was it was it porier I have to look at
46:51
this we're fired we're fired from two jaws I know
46:58
[Music] uh I just don't want to be wrong no yeah
47:05
it was okay I was right okay I just didn't want to be wrong but uh he won the belt versus Charles oliviera then he
47:12
defended it twice against volkanovski who is a 145 and who [ __ ] him up in
47:18
the first F fight I thought I thought voln and then after that he beat Dustin
47:23
porier um who you know who has lost some a lot of guys at the top before so it's
47:30
and that was coming off of a recent loss to uh Justin gatei as well Justin gatei
47:35
and Charles ala so I think it's rude to call him the goat already like he hasn't
47:40
taken out as many uh Hall of Famers once he's had the belt like yeah I feel like
47:47
he has to defend it a few more times before you start with the goat talk and I think the same thing happened with
47:53
khib where you look at the undefeated or at least the almost undefeated this and
47:59
uh and you judge it a little differently than someone who is won a couple lost a
48:06
couple distracted yeah and it's like but who has he beaten you know who's he fought and I feel like Islam needs a few
48:14
more wins at uh at 155 against 155s
48:19
before you start with the gold talk I agree but that's not the case that hasn't been the case but um
48:26
yeah I feel like when you look at someone like Jon Jones who's just been in there against all the greatest and you're talking about pound-for-pound
48:33
we're not talking about just heavyweight we're talking about light heavyweight and the fact that he went up to
48:39
heavyweight like that's that's a big deal yeah so I feel like that should be weight a little higher than Islam makev
48:44
def defending his belt three times against but twice against a 145 yeah
48:50
yeah so I mean that's my only gripe with it like obviously it's a super impressive record I can never do that no
48:57
I mean's I mean he's up there he belongs on on the pound-for-pound list for sure
49:02
I just don't see it at number one yet not yet but it's going to happen yeah yes it's going to happen he's a stud
49:09
he's incredible like it's it's he's like especially after I think uh the the most
49:16
uh gripes people had with Islam being at the top was after the first Vulcan owski fight then he just shut that up like he
49:25
shut that whole uh a conversation up about vul andow to me that conversation is still tainted though because vulk
49:31
already got knocked out or um he took the fight on short notice short notice yeah and that was just kind of a recipe
49:38
for disaster I don't think he should have taken that fight I'm not mad at him for taking that fight but look what it did to him and then he came back and got
49:44
knocked out against Toria yeah you know it was just a really in unfortunate and maybe
49:52
poor choice for for his career I I get it I think he's amazing um and I don't
49:57
think that those losses take away but if you if you focus in on the circumstances
50:03
of those losses then I feel like I have a case for understanding yeah for sure
50:08
you got to give uh volkanovski credit for putting his body on the line so many times and and uh you know coming up
50:15
short but doing it doing it at the risk of it
50:21
himself is I don't know it just makes me feel for him and uh what's what's uh
50:27
what's been going on with him since the fight but he has something coming up
50:32
next right um is he fighting on the Australia card he's got to be yeah so uh
50:39
one person who I don't think is going to lose their belt next year is Islam Mak
50:44
uh no no no I think he's he's there for a while yeah how do you uh see him matching against Arman
50:51
cian I they've already fought yeah and I I say mahaka Chev WIS again yeah
50:59
probably decision again probably decision again I think that they're they're evenly matched I think that they do kind of similar things and they do
51:07
them both really well so I I think it'll be a tough fought close fight okay but I
51:14
still see Islam winning I think that he's you know just leveled up in some really impressive ways yeah and he he
51:21
seems a little bigger too he seems [ __ ] huge like he just takes up space in there like I don't don't don't uh
51:29
call me on reach stats or whatever but he just seems like he takes up more space and the octagon and every time he
51:37
matches or he looks like I don't know if it's the bulk fights or what but he just looks like a huge human
51:42
being for a lightweight so um so yeah I I think he wins that one too I think he
51:48
holds on to his belt um for for this next year and I think we start to
51:54
everyone starts to agree about him being the go after 2025 I could see that I could see that
52:00
happening I'm trying to find out when volkanovski's next fight is tell us
52:08
Wikipedia I know um who do you think do you think
52:13
Juliana pinga keeps her belt no who I know who do you think takes don't hate
52:19
me I think Kayla Harris takes it right yeah although there's there's some concern
52:26
about her doing a five round fight for me uh just because of the the weight cut
52:32
and she was very open with how challenging that weight cut was the last
52:38
one especially yeah um you know affecting her body in a way that was making her like pee
52:43
blood yeah it just means that that was a really hard weight cut I've had that I've had that at 105 before God damn
52:49
that's that's scary yeah there was there was a gave you a front period oh wait no
52:57
came out the wrong hole Yeah there there is a a call to the EMT for sure oh no
53:03
yeah but it's okay oh I was fine I won good job that makes it fine good job
53:09
tall as [ __ ] is really I'm not that tall I'm quite hard for them get past your
53:17
range H well yeah um it doesn't look like Juliana pinga is booked right now
53:24
either and uh uh it would have to be Kayla Harrison next I I feel like they
53:30
wouldn't risk matching her with someone else yeah put that one in there make
53:35
that make that one fast M before uh no need to build up before you change your mind yeah just shove her in there like
53:42
tati Suarez it's like yeah nobody's gonna care every everyone wants this to
53:47
happen like let just cut the [ __ ] and make it happened um well let's do uh one more
53:56
question and then get to our bonus where we'll just answer more questions all
54:01
right um so let's see what is the hardest thing for you to
54:10
learn in your fighting careers what traits do you think separates a martial artist from a
54:16
fighter I would say wrestling I'm so bad at
54:22
it it's just so [ __ ] hard to change level like to learn how drop your butt
54:27
and not just your waist like well it's it's so probably the most dominant
54:34
people in this sport to date are always wrestlers like traditional wrestlers that have transition and not all
54:41
wrestlers are the same not all wrestlers can transition to MMA fighting successfully there are some styles that
54:46
just do not translate well but there are some people because of their wrestling style their wrestling background they
54:53
just have that ability to do that and I think it's a lot easier to learn wrestling at a younger age cuz your your
54:59
body can do things that an old body can't and just doesn't want to do yeah
55:04
um I used to think it was Jiu-Jitsu that was harder to learn at a at an older age
55:09
but if anything it's the thing that you it's an old man's game I can do that
55:14
until I'm 80 dude you should get into it if you're 60 and over join a Jiu-Jitsu gym right now cuz there it is it can be
55:22
as low impact as you want it to be like uh it's hard for for sure but it's a
55:27
workout and yeah I I think I just had a bad teacher at first and it made me
55:33
think a I'm just too old to like be absorbing it like a sponge in the way
55:38
other people do but wrestling is really where you get that muscle memory it's a lot like gymnastics like you don't see
55:45
any adult gymnastics classes and you don't see any adult uh wrestling classes
55:53
you have to seek it out you have to be part of an MMA gym if want to try it to learn wrestling and usually you're not
56:00
really learning anything you're just going through the motions yeah it's just a hard transition but um yeah that that
56:06
would be mine as well um wrestling has always been challenging because that's not something I learned um at a young
56:12
age and it's just been something that has not clicked with me very well yeah same uh but we're getting
56:20
there as we retire as we walk into the sun around
56:26
the corner these are the days of our lives we will be double legging into the
56:33
sunsets yeah I I was um like rediscovering wrestling this last camp
56:40
and I didn't I don't think I had enough reps to be able to apply it in the fight the way I wanted to I was starting to
56:46
feel it and starting to get confidence with it but it just didn't translate to the fight yeah and when you get stressed
56:52
like the the stress of a fight brings out all of your bad yeah you revert basically it's like I
56:59
swear to God I knew how to shoot a double leg [ __ ] I have a great blast yeah my singles were working on
57:06
everybody this last camp but it's like if they weren't working three camps ago then that's the version you do in the
57:13
fight yeah yeah for sure it's so annoying but yeah it's it's just the way our brains work when you get into that
57:19
like stressful State yeah lots of fun oh yeah self- sabotage is so fun I know how
57:28
to do this why isn't it working yeah well uh let's uh take a quick break for
57:33
all you members is just going to be a quick break uh for you non-members you have to wait till Christmas to get this
57:39
next one but at least you'll have something to do instead of hanging out with your
57:46
family returning gifts that you hate no but yeah Merry Christmas to everyone
57:53
and we will see you in a bit happy holidays oh
