Who Are Saint Basil the Great and Saint Gregory Nazianzen?

St. Basil the Great and St. Gregory Nazianzen were fourth century bishops. They were friends who lived in Asia Minor, which is now part of the country of Turkey. St. Basil was a skilled orator who was known for supporting the Nicene creed over Arianism. St. Gregory Nazianzen is called the "Trinitarian Theologian" due to his firm defense of Father, Son, and Spirit as Trinity.
