matthew cremona: saving my neighbor's walnut trees: from downed logs to furniture

Feb 15, 2026
Not too long ago, my neighbor Kami had some of the most beautiful walnut trees surrounding her property. Sadly, her power company had to cut down ALL of these walnut trees because they were too close to the power lines. At first these trees didn't look like much to me but while helping her clean up the downed trees, I realized these gnarly walnut trees had the potential to hold some of the most beautiful and wild grain patterns I've worked with. Today, the walnut logs begin their journey to become pieces of furniture.
