P2872 Error Code in Ford Focus (PowerShift saying bye-bye)

If you get the P2872 code in your Ford Focus that is equipped with the PowerShift transmission, it’s very likely that the clutch in your transmission is living its last days. It may start slipping and you will eventually get the “Service Transmission” message on the dash of your car. Unfortunately, replacing the clutch in Ford’s DCT transmissions is not that easy and cheap. The clutch itself will cost you $1500 for the entire kit and the labor will add a lot to the eventual costs. Anyway, there is basically no other way to cure the P2872 code that is one of the most common codes for these vehicles!
