Hi everyone it's Karen from the Jodie Gromore. I've got a vlog for you today

Me and the hubby went to Scarborough and Whitby for the weekend so I thought I would do

some vlogging when I was there. Now I'm not very good at vlogging I have to see I keep

forgetting to pick the camera up. I'm just not great at it in the the sound wasn't

very good all the way through. I hadn't banked on how windy it was

and I hummed and hard about whether actually to put this vlog out

but I think for anybody who's never been to Scarborough and would be

in you know you might be interested in going it'll give you a little bit of a

flavour of what it's like there we have been going to well I've been going to

Scarborough since I was about nine you know I used to go when I was little

I loved it then when I got married we had kids we started taking the kids there

camping you know it would probably be at least once a year over the last 50 years I

would say and I really love Scarborough there's so much to do there for families and even as

adults there's you know there's quite a lot to do is it's a lovely walk along the front which I'll

take you on on the vlog and Whitby I've never stayed in Whitby but we always it's only

half an hour's drive from Scarborough and it's on the way home so we always

pop into Whitby on the way home you know have around the shops and have a cup of coffee

and whatnot so I've took you around Whitby as well or I've tried to so I hope you enjoy

it's Friday it's 20 to 4 and we're off to Scarborough for the weekend

I'm going to turn you around so you can see So this is room for at the Paragon Hotel

The room there, the hotel is right on the, it's on the north bay right on the front, so overlooking the sea

This is a very small room, it's a lot smaller than what I was expecting it to be

So I'll just go into the room. We've got the double bed here

We've got some bedside shelven. I've already unpacked, as you can see, some bedside lights

What a paper is quite nice. I mean it's nice and clean, it's just very, very small

There's a single wardrobe there. We have got a sea view room

So you can see out of this window here, you can see the sea

which is very rough and grey at the moment because it's not a very nice night

Hopefully the weather else. get a little bit better and there's a little ornamental owl out there on the roof

another little window in the corner here again you can see to see I think this room has been

divided I think it's been a bigger room that's been divided in two it's got a little

stool here that I've just bound to me coating stuff on so you just

could sit on there and look out the window with a cup of tea if you want. There's a little cabinet here, a three-drault cabinet with a kettle

lots of teas and coffees and biscuits. A little thing here to plug your chargers and things into

We've got an extremely small television that we may see from the bed

but I suppose you don't come away for the weekend to watch the TV. I mean yes it is really small but we're not going to spend a lot of time in the room

so it's adequate it was ninety ninety four pound a night that includes breakfast

so you come in the door and the bathroom is straight opposite I'll just take it in here

and put the light on again it's an extremely small bathroom we've got a towel rail with some towels on

Not the heated towel rail, but you don't necessarily need that. Little hook there to hang something up

Got some shelving, which I've put all my toiletry things on. There's a tiny little sink, really tiny

They have really maximised the space in here. Got a mirror, an overhead light

Well, it's an overhead light. Obviously it lights up makeup on I got a very small shower here So not a lot of room to turn around in but it be adequate

It's got a little shelf there for shampoo and things. So it is very small so if you're still in the paragon and you don't want a small room

I don't advise room for. This is the view from the hotel and we're about to walk down this path down to the front and then we can walk around the ground to the south

We're now on the South Bay of Scarborough which is the more touristy side it's got more of the amusements and the chip shops and the gift shops and the gift shops and the distance you can see the ground

now which looks absolutely awesome in the outside and it's beautiful inside as well it's kind of a bit of a ragged everywhere and it's much of the video

and it's not good it's such a shame because it's a beautiful thing

street running up off the South Bay and got not lots of little restaurants and cafes and gift shops it's very stiff though

I'm not sure what this building was over here but look at that that is an absolutely gorgeous looking

it doesn't look like it's open anymore but how beautiful is the outside of that

This is Scarborough's indoor market. The downstairs in the market seems to be all fruit and veg

and the upstairs has got a few more interesting shops. Warren spotted a bakery in the corner

We had a nice relaxing day We just walked along the front It took about half an hour to walk from the North Bay to the South Bay It a nice walk and it was quite nice morning actually

It's not so nice outside now. It's a bit grey and drizzly

We're going to go out for a Chinese meal tonight at one of our favourite restaurants in Scarborough

I can't for the live as remember what it's called. I'll put it on the screen when I find out

But it's a nice Chinese restaurant. and then we'll probably go to the casino for a couple of hours after that

We did go into, we're pottered around the town today and we're called into the Tracy Savage Art Gallery

which I'd never been in before. It's just behind the Grand Hotel on St. Nicholas

I want to say St. Nicholas Bridge Street. I think it's St. Nicholas Bridge

St. Nicholas Cliff, it's called. they've got some absolutely beautiful paintings in there she's a really good artist

I didn't buy any paintings but I did pick up some cards of her prints which are really nice

this one is last ride taken from an original painting by Tracy Savage it's got a little

building there with a little bric-a-brac shop and a little carousel on the corner

They're just really pretty painting. It's very pretty. This one is, it's a pier with a candy floss store on it

This one, Warren Lake, this one is The Gardener. Which is like a big greenhouse place where the big daffodil grown up the front

I think that's a daffodil. It is called The Gardner. and this one I really liked is called the florist

and it's a building with like all of the flowers and stuff outside

and just she had some really really lovely paintings I think it was

375 pound for a print um when it was like 15 to 20,000 pound for an original

It's about 10 o'clock on Sunday morning. We've left Scarborough. We're on our way home but we always stop off in Whitby on the way back

It's only about 30 minute drive from Scarborough so if you're coming that way it's well worth popping in

because it's a lovely little village town so I'll just take you around and show you what Whitby looks like

This side of the river is the more touristy side. The shops and amusements and things like that

So I'm open on here now I take it. So nearly at the end of the pier on one side of Whitby and you can just see the abbey on the headroom there and apparently Bram Stoker stayed in Whitby and as he was looking out of these hotel rules he was watching the abbey and he was inspired to start writing Dracula

So there's lots of Dracula themed things around. The Dracula experience. There's rooms hotels with the moon's

Dracula themed. So yeah if you want to have the Dracula A little market here in the middle

As you can see Warren did buy some rum in the little bottle shop in Whitby. I got this lovely

mermaid room as you saw in the picture, some little miniatures and I picked up some little plastic

fruit ice cube things and a little stirrer which I thought was quite cute and we finished the

trip to Whitby off with a cream and jam scorn and a cup of hot chocolate in a little cafe

called Hetty and Bettie's which is on the more touristy side of Whitby but it's a really nice

coffee and then we drove home. So I hope you did find that video
