Jose Breijo, 73, had been unable to enter his apartment after being released to house arrest, according to residents and activists in the Bello Monte neighborhood of the Venezuelan capital. Residents of the Pasquarelli building said officials linked to the presidency took part in the operation to remove the officer from the apartment. Human rights activist Carlos Julio Rojas called for an investigation into the incident and urged authorities to provide support to Breijo. Breijo was previously detained on allegations linked to terrorism after photographing a building reportedly associated with Hamas, according to local activists.
