Federal investigators discovered two separate ransom notes addressed to the family from the same computer IP address. The first message demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin, while the second reported her death and expressed regret for the outcome. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department stated the investigation remains active. Her daughter, NBC "Today" show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has expressed belief that these two notes are authentic. The FBI, which has partnered with local authorities, urged anyone with knowledge of the case to contact them. The appeal follows the release of home security footage showing an armed, masked individual tampering with Guthrie's front door camera on the morning of her disappearance. Furthermore, the agency confirmed that DNA from a glove found 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) from the residence matches the DNA profile found on the glove worn by the suspect in the video.
