US, Los Angeles: Montebello Fatal Collision Investigated on 60 Freeway.

Los Angeles, United States - May 23, 2026 05/23/2026 02:32 am GMT-0700 MONTEBELLO, Calif. – California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic collision on the eastbound 60 Freeway just before Paramount Boulevard in Montebello. Upon arrival, officers found one victim outside the car on the ground and not breathing. CHP began CPR immediately until firefighters and paramedics arrived. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person involved in the collision was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. Authorities have yet to determine if speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Currently, only the fast lane of the eastbound 60 Freeway is open for traffic, and a SigAlert has been issued for an unspecified time.
