Footage released by the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office showed floodwaters carrying debris across roads and inundating low-lying areas as emergency crews responded in the Beulah area. The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Emergency after 1 to 3 inches of rain fell over the burn scar, warning that fast-moving floodwaters and debris flows posed a significant threat to life. In late June, wildfires spread across the interior Western US, especially in Utah and Colorado. Around 2 million people were under fire alerts across Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and parts of Wyoming, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Three firefighters were reportedly killed on the Colorado–Utah border, and two other firefighters were injured.
