Taiwan: Taiwan holds Han Kuang military exercise in Miaoli County.

.MIAOLI COUNTY, TAIWAN - AUG. 9, 2026: Taiwanese Army soldiers took part in a drill simulating emergency treatment following possible attacks, as part of the ongoing Han Kuang military exercise, at a school basketball court converted into a medical station in Miaoli County, Taiwan. The Han Kuang exercise puts the island's military to the test through unscripted drills simulating responses to various scenarios in the event of a possible attack, including the treatment and evacuation of personnel wounded in simulated missile, gunfire and artillery attacks. The exercise comes as Beijing increases its military activities in and around the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea.
