Narathiwat, Thailand - August 23, 2026 Thailand's Fourth Army Region issues a public safety warning following a series of violent attacks across southern border provinces, including Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani, on August 23, 2026. Incidents included arson at administrative offices, burning of car tires, and explosions targeting power poles and convenience stores, with at least 11 incidents recorded in Narathiwat Province and a car explosion injuring two people. The Narathiwat Task Force imposed a provincial curfew from 10:15 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, requiring residents to obtain military, police or administrative authorization before leaving their homes for urgent matters.
