VARIOUS DRONE SHOTS OF VESSEL ALSU AT SEA ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE - SEPT. 11, 2026: Search and rescue operations continued for a 10th consecutive day on Friday, Sept. 11, for 10 missing crew members of the cargo vessel Tugberk Imamoglu, which sank after colliding with another ship off the coast of Istanbul's Silivri district. On Sept. 2, the Turkish-flagged commercial vessel Alsu, which was sailing from Kocaeli to Aliaga, collided at around 3 am local time (0000GMT) with the Turkish-flagged commercial vessel Tugberk Imamoglu, which was traveling from Iskenderun Port to Karadeniz Eregli, according to the Istanbul Governor's Office. The collision occurred 18 nautical miles south of Silivri. Family members of the missing crew gathered near local port facilities in Silivri as emergency personnel expanded sonar mapping and aerial drone sweeps across the search area. Maritime authorities have launched a formal investigation into the collision to determine navigational errors and weather factors involved in the sinking.
