Geneva, Switzerland - September 18, 2026 The World Meteorological Organization releases its State of Global Water Resources Report at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on September 18, 2026. The report warns that rivers worldwide experienced one of their driest years in more than three decades in 2025, with freshwater storage in long-term decline and glaciers continuing to retreat, posing serious risks to people and economies globally.
