Seoul, South Korea - September 02, 2026 Footage shows search and rescue operations underway off the southeastern port city of Busan, South Korea, after a tugboat capsized and sank, September 2, 2026. The 286-ton vessel, carrying eight crew members, overturned at approximately 1:29 p.m. local time, killing one South Korean mariner and leaving six others missing; one Indonesian crew member was rescued by a nearby merchant ship. The Busan Coast Guard deployed 13 patrol boats, aircraft and diving teams, while South Korean President Lee Jae Myung ordered authorities to mobilize all available resources for the rescue effort.
