Nepal: Bodies of 3 mountaineers who lost their lives on Broad Peak brought to Nepal.

.KATHMANDU, NEPAL - AUG. 11, 2026: The bodies of mountaineers Nima Sherpa, Kilu Sherpa, and Gyalu Sherpa, who lost their lives in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan, were brought to Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. Hundreds of people gathered at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to pay their respects to those who lost their lives. At the airport, their family members, their friends, mountaineer colleagues, members of the mountaineering community, and citizens gathered to pay their final respects to those who lost their lives. In the incident on Broad Peak, 10 people lost their lives, including the renowned Nepali mountaineer Nirmal Purja, known as “Nimsdai”, and the incident caused great sorrow within Nepal’s mountaineering community and across the country.
