Located northwest of the city center on an area of around 25 acres, the Burqash Market attracts Egyptians from across the country seeking to purchase sacrificial camels before the holiday. Known as one of the oldest and largest camel markets in the Arab world and the Middle East, the market operates mainly on Fridays and Sundays, with most sales conducted through auctions.
