China: Massive waterspout connects sea and clouds before rapidly vanishing in China.

Wenzhou, China - August 24, 2026 This is the spectacular moment that a massive waterspout stretched from the sea to the clouds off the coast of eastern China before rapidly fading away as it approached land. On August 25, 2026, in Yuanyu Village, Cangnan County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, the video captured the remarkable waterspout swirling above the sea. Footage showed a huge column of water and mist spiralling high into the air, forming a striking connection between the dark clouds overhead and the surface of the sea below. The towering vortex remained clearly visible as it moved across the water, with its narrow lower section appearing to draw spray upwards into the rotating column. As the waterspout approached the coastline and came into contact with land, the lower part of the funnel suddenly began to weaken. According to staff from the Cangnan County meteorological authorities, the waterspout was a highly unusual local weather phenomenon. Local meteorological officials said such a clearly recorded waterspout was rarely seen in the area. The video ended with the lower section of the waterspout rapidly dissipating after reaching land as the towering column gradually vanished from view.
