China: Humanoid robots compete at WHRG final in Beijing.

HUMANOID ROBOTS OPERATOR, OPERATING HUMANOID ROBOT WHILE STANDING NEXT TO ITBEIJING, CHINA - AUG 26, 2026: Humanoid robots faced off in track and field, kickboxing, scenario games, pentathlons, and performance categories during the final day of the World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG) on Wednesday, Aug. 26, the event that began on Sunday, Aug. 23. Robots competed in sports including athletics, gymnastics, football and kickboxing, while other events test skills such as dancing, synchronized movement, material handling, sorting and organization. Organized in cooperation with Beijing Municipal People's Government, China Media Group, World Robot Cooperation Organization and RoboCup Asia-Pacific International Council, event brings together robotics companies, universities, research institutes, robot clubs and enthusiasts. A total of 666 teams and 2,056 humanoid robots are competing across 51 disciplines this year, compared with 250 teams and 500 robots across 26 disciplines in 2025.
