Firefighters rescuing people in badly-damaged vehicle Storyline Emergency repair work is ongoing after a rain-triggered landslide caused a road bridge to collapse in northwest China's Shaanxi Province in the early hours of Monday, with no serious casualties reported. The incident occurred in the Ganquan County of Yan'an City at around 02:00 Monday, after a continuous bout of heavy rain led to a landslide which swept over a major regional expressway, striking a bridge pier and causing the structure to break. It left two vehicles badly damaged and injured three people, who were immediately taken to hospital but are said to be in stable conditions. Multiple departments, including the local emergency management, fire, transportation, and public security divisions rushed to the scene to conduct rescue and relief operations. Response teams are facing difficulties as the rainy weather is expected to continue, while the geological conditions along the section are said to be highly complex. As bridge repair work continues, the local transportation bureau has advised motorists to take alternate routes and drive with caution. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
