This one-person company in Shenzhen provides AI-related services to clients. The sole employee says he uses AI agents as real digital employees that help with business workflows, drawing up contracts, delivery and after-sales services. He uses different AI agents depending on the task. Lu Zhenyu, Head, tech company: "I use this AI agent for planning, another for work, and another for design — it's a multi-model collaborative workflow. I spent about 370 U.S. dollars on it in August. That investment was totally worth it. Over time, it becomes more familiar with how I work, which greatly reduces my token consumption going forward." Large companies are also employing AI agents more frequently. Peking University First Hospital, which serves some 10,000 patients daily, has collaborated with a software company to develop a private intelligent management assistant for the hospital. The system helps staff with tasks like o perational analysis, medical quality controls, and gathering nursing statistics. Zhou Guopeng, Director of the Information Center, Peking University First Hospital: "For example, our quality management department previously relied on dedicated staff to regularly collect data and manually analyze it. It took two to three weeks to complete the analysis of roughly one month's worth of data. Now, with the use of AI agents, that time has been cut to about two to three days." A report from the International Data Corporation, or IDC, states that last year there were some 28 million active AI agents in the world.
