Navy personnel used boats to rescue people stranded by rising floodwaters before transporting them to safer areas aboard a naval vessel, according to the Chilean Navy. Heavy rains have caused flooding in parts of central and southern Chile, leaving residents isolated and prompting rescue and evacuation operations.
