VARIOUS OF PEOPLE MARCHING ON STREET, CHANTING SLOGANSAMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS - SEP. 12, 2026: Thousands of people marched in Amsterdam on Saturday, Sep. 12, calling for stronger action to tackle climate change after an exceptionally hot and dry summer across Europe. Demonstrators gathered in Dam Square and the city centre, carrying banners calling for urgent measures to address rising temperatures, drought and the effects of climate change. Climate researchers say climate change is increasing the likelihood of extreme droughts in Europe, while also contributing to more intense periods of heavy rainfall.
