VARIOUS OF DEMONSTRATORS MARCHING IN STREETSBRUSSELS, BELGIUM — SEPT. 16, 2026: Approximately 5,000 students gathered in Brussels on Wednesday, Sept. 16, to protest higher tuition fees and stricter graduation requirements for higher education in Belgium. Demonstrators marched from outside Brussels Central Station to the Wallonia-Brussels Federation government building. The annual tuition fee for most students has increased from €835 to €1,194. Under the new rules, students must complete all 60 credits of the first bachelor year within two years, while a bachelor’s degree must be completed within five years.
