Paris, France - June 08, 2026 Hundreds gathered in Paris to pay tribute to 11-year-old Lyhanna and demand accountability following the shocking murder that has sparked outrage across France. The demonstration saw participants observe a minute of silence, raise their fists in solidarity, and hold signs reading “Justice pour Lyhanna” and “Trop c'est trop” as calls for stronger child protection measures intensified. Lyhanna was abducted on May 29 in Fleurance, in southwestern France. Her body was discovered on June 4 at an abandoned agricultural site. Authorities have arrested Jérôme Barella, a suspect with a prior criminal record, in connection with the case. The tragedy has reignited debate over the monitoring of high-risk offenders and the effectiveness of measures designed to protect children. Vigils and protests have been held in several locations as citizens demand answers and reforms aimed at preventing similar crimes. French authorities continue to investigate the case.
