On the Fasting Mimicking Diet 5-Day plan, Day 1 might be the most difficult psychologically. Calorie-wise, it’s the most generous, so no hunger pangs at all. But mentally you know you’ve got five days of fasting ahead of you, so that weighs on your mind a bit. Today I will be allotted about 1,000 calories or so, which about half of my normal intake. So yes, it’s a “sacrifice,” but not a terribly difficult one. I found the food to be very palatable, if not “delicious.” But OK, it’s a diet, so I wasn’t expecting gourmet meals. Still, the taste of the food is good and not a reason to avoid this meal plan. But again, it’s only the start, and I admit to feeling a bit overwhelmed at the prospect of doing this for five days.
