Yeah, so this is a complaint about vivid seats and ticketmaster who failed to help me get a refund on my tickets to a very expensive tickets to an Elton John concert
0:12
When they rescheduled the concert, making it impossible for me to attend, and then gave me no options to get a refund
0:21
Very poor communication with their customer service and ultimately got some responses through the Better Business Bureau, but it was too little
0:29
too late and I lost about $1,300 in the two tickets that I purchased for this concert that I
0:35
could not attend. So some advice to consumers. Be careful when you buy those tickets and
0:41
look at your options to get them refunded. In November of 2019, I bought two tickets for the Elton John concert. I figured it was
0:55
last time to ever see him in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I always like to
0:59
to get good seats. These were like $600, almost $650 each. Very expensive tickets
1:06
Very excited about seeing the show in April of 2020. And then this thing called COVID happened
1:13
So they canceled as or postponed or canceled. They didn't cancel. They postponed the concert
1:20
These were tickets actually bought by vivid seats. Not ticket master. Although they ended up being having a ticket master ticket because why I thought this was a ticket master issue but it a vivid seats issue Bottom line I bought the tickets They canceled the show and they said by the way
1:40
it's only postponed, and there is no chance for a refund. But we're going to let you know the
1:45
date. Ultimately, they let me know the date, and they issued the tickets, a date that I could
1:51
not attend the concert. So, and I bought $1,300 worth of tickets
1:58
They changed the date. I can no longer attend. And they absolutely refuse to give a refund
2:05
They say you can try to resell your tickets. I find that a total scam
2:11
They reschedule the concert to a date that I can no longer attend
2:15
I should be eligible for a refund. And so that's my beef with vivid seats
2:21
And then Ticketmaster were the ones who actually have the issued ticket, reached out to them
2:25
And ultimately through the Better Business Bureau, they said it had nothing to do with them, even though the ticket is a ticket master ticket
2:33
They go, where does the third party that gave you the ticket? And we can't help you at all either
2:38
So ticket master, they're not, don't have a very good reputation either
2:42
So this is a combination of vivid seats and ticket master basically taking my $1,300 and throwing it in the garbage
2:50
I don't know what the, and the main goal is that these ticket agencies continue to act somewhat unscrupulously
2:57
They sell you tickets and sometimes very expensive tickets If they change the date of the event and you want a refund you should be eligible to get a full refund That my complaint
3:11
So the Ticketmaster changed the date, right? Well, first of all, there's no way with Ticketmaster
3:18
as far as I can tell, to ever talk to a human being. You can only email them
3:23
So I emailed them and told them this, and they said, oh, the event organizer is refusing refunds for the event
3:33
You can try to resell them. By the way, they never told me that they were not the ones who sold me the ticket at that time
3:42
So I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. And only then did I find out in a detailed email response through the Better Business Bureau from Ticketmaster
3:52
Oh, we never sold you those tickets. Go out, go complain about these other people
3:58
Hold it. I sent you a long email. You should have known that you didn't sell me those tickets
4:02
So, I mean, the whole customer connection, communication with Ticketmaster, I would give them a D-minus
4:11
Well, for the kind of money that they are charging for these crazy service charges, they should have a 1-800 talk to a human being option
4:21
this concept of email only or chat or whatever, I don't think there was the chat option
4:27
You should be able to talk to a human being. They should be able to pull up the ticket
4:32
They should have been able to tell me that they didn sell me the ticket even though it was a ticket master ticket And there was two years later I just assumed it was ticket master It wasn until the event was over that I got this communication claiming that they
4:45
didn't sell me the ticket. Anyway, so yeah, they need to have better customer service
4:52
They need to have accurate responses if they're going to respond by email. And if I were to
4:57
advise them for the kind of money that they're charging the customer, they should have a 1-800 number
5:03
where without a, you know, three-day, two-hour wait every time the typical customer service
5:08
to make, you can actually talk to a customer service agent. I was pretty impressed with the relatively the ease and the responsiveness using the Better Business Bureau
5:20
I had never really filed a complaint with the BBB. And my significant other said, you know, what, you need to file this to the better business
5:27
She gave me the link. I put in all the information, uploaded the tickets and the receipts and blah, blah, blah
5:33
And I was really impressed with how responsive the Better Business Bureau was
5:39
And actually, two days after the complaint was filed, unfortunately, the day the ticket, the concert was over, I got that response from Ticketmaster saying we apologize, blah, blah, blah, but we didn't tell you the tickets, good luck
5:52
But at least I got an answer and the correct answer through the Better Business Bureau
5:57
So if I were to advise someone who had similar issues with Ticketmaster or Vivid seats, I would recommend
6:03
And you reach out through the Better Business Bureau, it seems to get their attention
