Hello ladies, I'm Suu Kyi and welcome to Pink April Diary. Moreover, welcome to the working
0:05
desk side of Pink April Diary home office. Today's video, you will find how to find your perfect
0:11
work tote bag, how to practically organize it and keep it organized, and what essentials you should
0:18
pack for your work. And at the end of the video, I will also be sharing how you should pack your
0:25
tote bag. This video is a tips-packed video and I don't want you to miss anything, so
0:29
grab a cup of coffee, relax, sit down and start watching. If you already have a tote bag and you
0:39
do not want to shop for a new one, you can absolutely skip it to the next part. I've put
0:44
in the chapters in the description box below. My first tip to find a perfect tote bag that works for
0:50
you is a really important tip which is pretty obvious but a lot of us actually don't focus on
0:57
And it is making sure that you find the right size of tote bag for you
1:02
If you are petite, make sure that the tote bag is not so big that it literally overpowers you
1:09
or it becomes really problematic to carry it around. Moreover, you also need to make sure that you have enough room in your tote bag to carry all of the stuff
1:20
I personally prefer the tote bags that do not have a mid compartment
1:24
because then it gives me lots of room to move things around and organize it the way I want
1:31
compared to the ones that have a middle compartment, which most of the time does not fit my laptop
1:38
Usually, tote bags are more of an angular shape. They are less wider at the bottom and more wider at the top
1:46
So if you have a middle compartment of that size, you most of the time the specs that you will see in it are not accurate for your laptop. My next
1:56
tip is actually a perfect segue to my first tip which is making sure that your work tote bag fits
2:03
your laptop completely. Now if you actually work in tech industry you this is kind of a mandatory
2:10
step for you making sure that your work tote bag would fit your laptop perfectly so you can carry it
2:17
It's really important that before heading out to shop for your work tote bag, you have
2:23
the right measurements for your laptop. Make sure that you go to the website where you have purchased your laptop and find the
2:32
width and height of or the length and the width or length and the depth of the particular
2:38
laptop that you own or you can also measure it yourself. Now that gives you the accurate measurements of the height and the width of the tote bag that you
2:49
need so that you can fit your laptop in it. This was one of the biggest mistakes I used to make
2:55
when I used to go shopping for a work tote bag and that is I forget to check the handle height
3:01
of the tote bag. The handles of most of these tote bags are completely comfortable. You can
3:07
normally when you're actually trying out at the store or when you just bought it and unboxed it
3:13
and you're trying it out, normally they all feel comfortable and you can easily fit them around
3:19
your shoulder. But once you start putting in stuff in it, once you start filling it up
3:26
that's when the problem happens. So make sure that the top handle of the tote bag is comfortable
3:33
enough and long enough and has enough room below your arm area or armpit area that when you start
3:41
filling up and the tote bag kind of expands you still have room to move around your arm or keep it
3:47
under your armpit and still walk around. Now this was one of the things that I never paid attention
3:54
to and I have switched so many tote bags because of this particular reason. I would buy something
4:01
that would just snuggle up around my shoulder and once I start filling up my tote bag I cannot put
4:08
it up so I had to like put it up either on my arms forearms or I have to just hold it like a briefcase
4:15
so it is really important that you pay attention to that part that which is going to help you carry
4:21
your tote bag comfortably throughout the day and throughout years to come you also need to make
4:27
sure that you're checking that your tote bag is not really heavy or it has the right weight that
4:33
you need. So once you start packing it, it's not going to become extremely heavy. Now this is one
4:38
of the most important steps especially for those of you who carry laptops because you know that
4:44
laptops can be really really heavy and once you put it in a tote bag, it just becomes really really
4:50
heavy. Now if you're buying a nylon material tote bag or canvas tote bags, they can be relatively
4:57
lighter and you don have to worry about the weight of those tote bags But you have to pay extreme attention when you buying leather handbags because some of the leather handbags can be
5:08
really heavy and after you pack it for your work you realize that it is extremely heavy and you
5:15
are probably going to walk sideways once you put it on your shoulders. Now this last one is not
5:21
really important especially if you like to switch your tote bags per season. I do like to do that
5:27
sometimes. Not always, but at least have two tote bags that I can switch out between. But if you
5:33
want to stick to just one tote bag for your work, then you need to make sure that the color tone
5:40
that you're picking for your work tote bag is generic enough. So if you are a neutral person
5:44
you like to wear a neutral outfit, making sure that you have a neutral color tote bag that works
5:50
with your outfit is really important. Even if you love wearing colors and incorporating it into your
5:56
work outfit, you might not have the right colored tone tote bag that will match or kind of complement
6:04
your work outfit. So ensuring that you buy a tote bag that is a neutral tone, it can be black, it can
6:11
be brown or even a lighter blue shade or neutral shades like nude colors or peachy pink colors
6:19
Shades that are really neutral and can go really well with every single color. Last year I purchased
6:25
the mulberry base water tote pack in this brown color tone and i cannot tell you how much i
6:32
absolutely love it it works with most of my colored outfits you know that i'm a color lover
6:37
even then because this bag is in a neutral tone and it feels more luxurious with this
6:45
cognac color tone it goes really well with all of my outfit again the handle height of this
6:52
particular tote bag is long enough that even after filling it or making the tote bag really
6:57
wide I can still put it around my shoulders and carry around. This tote bag is one of my latest
7:03
purchases. It's the Celeron Large Shopper tote bag. It fits my 15 inch or my 16 inch laptop
7:09
perfectly. Moreover it is actually pretty lightweight so it's great for traveling as well
7:15
and I'm taking it to my upcoming work trip as well. Now again it's a very minimalistic bag. You
7:21
can barely see the logo here which makes it really great for work where you don't want your bag to be
7:27
the focal point and you don't want to flash a lot or show off your luxury purchases if that's not
7:33
your style now i love that it also has an internal magnetic enclosure so for those of you who
7:40
do public transportation this will also keep your bag secure and closed
7:45
with work and trying to balance a life and family and kids and all of that trying to
7:53
stay healthy you know all of that managing and organizing your work tote bag kind of is at the
8:00
end of the checklist so how do you practically keep your tote bag organized and organize it
8:07
so that you don't have to redo or reorganize every weekend so that you can manage your week ahead
8:15
I have some tips, actually not some tips, some easy ways you can organize things and keep them organized in your work tote bag
8:23
You can easily categorize the stuff that you carry or organize in your work tote bag in two different categories
8:31
One would be tech related and another one would be personal items
8:35
An easy way to actually organize them are to compartmentalize them. Now, for example, if you have small chargers, power banks, AirPods, or, you know, headphones, earphones, you can actually put them in a compartment in a smaller bag
8:53
Like I have this small bag where I have my power bank, I have my charging cable, and I also have my AirPods in it that I know where to find
9:04
and I'm just going to throw it in in my tote bag and I know that because it is in a contrasting
9:10
color I can identify it right away pick it out from my tote bag when I'm in a hurry and I need
9:15
something and I know exactly where my stuff are now if you compartmentalize this way it is really
9:22
easy to organize your stuff and actually find it right when you are in a hurry or you're in a meeting
9:28
or you know you are in your car and you really need something you know exactly where things would
9:34
Now, the same rule applies to your personal stuff. I have this big black bag where I carry all my
9:40
makeup, my medicines that I need for my work, my hand sanitizers, type pen, any other things that I
9:48
need to carry to work, I put it in this bag. I ensure that all of those things that I am carrying
9:55
all of those makeup products or you know hand creams or hand sanitizers they are compact sized so they actually fit in it and it not taking up a huge space in my work tote bag or it does not make my work tote bag heavy if you are someone who not
10:13
only carries their laptop to work but you also have other gadgets like if you have tablets or
10:19
you have other smaller phones or on kind of nanos other kind of smaller tablets or you also carry
10:26
camera because that's part of your job then this kind of a tote bag organizer might be better for
10:33
you it has all small compartments within it where you can put all of your personal products as well
10:40
as put the tech products in here that way you can keep them organized rather than it all spilling
10:47
out and it also makes a lot more room in your work tote bag now this particular organizer is from
10:54
Amazon you can find so many varieties so many different color options if you prefer clear ones
10:59
you can also find them I personally prefer a black one because I keep my tote bag pretty much open
11:05
most of the time and having a colored one just doesn't look as nice and put together so I preferred
11:11
a black one now these ones also come with like a tie so it stays intact inside your tote bag as
11:20
well so not there's no problem in thinking that it's going to slip out of your tote bag
11:25
now let's get into what are the absolute essentials you should be packing for your work
11:33
now these essentials might differ a little bit depending on the style of work you do but
11:39
i'm trying to make it as generic as possible and as essential as possible a lot of times we actually
11:47
pack way more than we need and especially when you're heading to work you might feel like i might
11:54
forget something so let me just pack everything you don't have to so this essential checklist will
12:00
help you guide through that because let's face it you don't have the entire world of room in your
12:07
work tote bag so making sure that you're taking the absolute essential that is going to help you
12:12
throughout your day is key here. So let's get started. The first and foremost is a wallet
12:18
Whether you are taking public transportation or you are driving or walking or biking
12:25
you still need your wallet because you need your ID in it, you need your credit cards
12:29
your money, everything in it. So your wallet is an essential. Now, depending on whether you have
12:34
a small wallet or a full-size wallet, it doesn't matter. Your phone is also absolutely essential
12:40
again something that you have to take no matter what kind of transportation you are taking now
12:46
the next important thing is sunglasses i feel like if you're driving this is really really important
12:52
it's going to protect your eyes even if you're taking public transportation you will be walking
12:56
to your office as well or walking out for lunches and stuff like that the next essential is something
13:02
which is really important for me these days i'm getting old and for being in front of the computer
13:07
for such a long time i feel like my eyes get tired so computer glasses really help me
13:12
if you aren't using them i recommend you can just buy amazon ones that are not that expensive that
13:19
will still protect you making sure that you buy the blue light glasses that is going to help you
13:24
block the blue light that actually causes tiredness in your eyes so glasses if you're wearing glasses
13:30
if you use glasses regularly then carrying the case is important because say for example you're
13:36
swapping out your glasses with sunglasses at any point of time you want to protect your glasses
13:40
within your tote pack now the next thing is hand sanitizer this is really really key even if you're
13:45
driving or you're taking public transportation if you're taking public transportation this is really
13:50
really important actually i also recommend a sunscreen you should reapply you don't have to
13:57
carry a big one or a setting spray style you can have just a small one as well anything that is
14:03
going to protect you when you're outside it's really important this is often forgotten by most
14:07
of us and it's hand cream it'll keep you more your hands moisturized especially after multiple usage
14:14
of restrooms where you're washing and and if you're using hand sanitizer a lot your hands can
14:20
get really dry so i recommend having a small hand cream in your bag now medicines depends on what
14:26
kind of medicine you take so i'm not going to go over the details i also carry a tight pen now this
14:33
is going to help you at times when you know you've spilled the pasta sauce or you have put your makeup
14:40
on your shirt your collar anywhere and you want to get rid of it you have an important meeting you
14:45
want to look put together tight pen is going to come really in handy i feel like i never go anywhere
14:51
without type in this one is really really important and which is keys if you drive you
14:57
will be taking it but even if you don drive you will have house keys some kind of keys so having keychains are essentials you might not be forgetting it at all you might not at all forget this but I just putting it out there because these are essentials and this also takes up room
15:14
I usually don't have a key case. A lot of people have that, but I prefer just a regular keychain
15:20
Don't forget your charging cable. It is also really, really important, especially if you're carrying your gadgets, you need
15:27
to be able to charge it. And I also added power bank
15:31
I've also already mentioned this this is also really really key I feel like this helps me charge
15:37
my phone on the go you can just simply plug it like this and charge your phone and you're ready
15:45
to go you can still use it while you're charging that is why a power bank is really really helpful
15:50
this one I picked up from Amazon it comes in a setup too so if you are somebody who is actively
15:56
working on your phone like you're a social media manager or something and you are using a phone a
16:01
lot and you need to charge it a lot carrying two is also great the next one are headphones some kind
16:07
of headphones i have airpods they're compact they help me but you can also use headphones if you
16:13
like to have those bigger headphones that you know will make sure that people know that you're focused
16:17
and nobody should disturb you i also use them sometimes so making sure that you carry that with
16:23
you as well now i did not put charge laptop charger that is kind of optional for folks who
16:31
already have their laptop chargers at their desk at work if you are one of those you know may not
16:36
need to carry it but if you're somebody who is always on the go and you need to charge your
16:40
laptop that is also an essential that you need to have in your work bag i've also made a checklist
16:46
for work bag for you so that you don't forget any of these things i actually recorded this video
16:52
twice because the first time I had forgotten my wallet. Can you imagine it's been that long? So
16:58
I want to make sure that you carry all of your stuff so download that free checklist that I've
17:04
linked in the description box. The first way I'm going to be organizing my tote bag is by just
17:12
using compartments or smaller bags and just putting them in into my tote bag. This is my
17:17
go-to way and the easiest way to keep your bag organized every day and to keep everything in
17:22
their own place. So let's check it out. And the next way is when you have a lot more gadget than just a laptop and you
18:16
want to use a bag organizer to organize all of your stuff instead of keeping compartmentalized
18:22
because then you have a lot of stuff. So let's check it out how we can do it
18:46
