I'm awesome. It is a beautiful day in Chicago. The weather's good. Everything's good. Everybody's healthy, so it's a good. It's a good day, yeah, for sure

Absolutely incredible, my brother. Now, obviously, Rick, you have been very vocal. We've seen your post

You know, for people that don't actually know how you're involved in the Alicia Baumgartner situation, can you tell the people how you are involved

You know, quite frankly, like, I don't want to say I'm involved in the situation

I just think that, you know, we had, you know, Alicia and I have known each other for five, six years

you know, through social media outlets, through other channels. I talked to her dad a little bit here and there

So it's just we have respect for Alicia. We saw her come up when she wasn't Alicia Baumgartner

You are a boxing coach manager, owner of a WBC belt, coach of the year for 2019, 2021

Absolutely incredible accolades now, Rick. So obviously you are in terms of the fact you are friends, family, you and a

Alicia, you're obviously going to support your girl out here. And to be honest with you, I would need to ask you the question

What do you think about, obviously, Eddie Hearn, his statements, just the whole situation

as a whole, Rick. I want to let you cook and you just carry on my guy. No, I think, you know, the whole scenario is kind of crazy, you know, like Eddie made a good point

you know, they're the only people testing, so, like, they're the only ones who are our, quote-unquote, catching people

So, yeah. I understand that, you know, I do. I think from my perspective, like, I just think that, you know, we should test, meaning we, like, trainers or managers should test fighters probably before we go into big fights, probably before we go out and sign for a fight

So that's my statement. As far as, as far as like Eddie, you know, Eddie and I had a, you know, we were awesome in the beginning

Our friendship was solid, you know. I wouldn't say friendship, but our business relationship was solid

Yeah. But, you know, we've obviously disagreed on some things here and there

And, you know, I understand his frustrations. I didn't hear Jessica's interview at the moment it happened on the boxing voice

so I still haven't heard it completely. I just heard, like, snippets because she was, like, you know, 15 feet away from me

So I didn't really hear it all. But I knew that, you know, some things were said, and, you know

Jess is a bit frustrated, you know, with the, with a past situation with Matrim and, you know

with, you know, the mandatory situation, how our fighter got taken away from us

and kind of Terry Harper, fodder, things like that. So I think Jess's frustration just hit the wall

and she was just kind of released it, her frustration out to the world and to the public, obviously

And sometimes when you're heated, you know, you know how it goes. When you're heated, you're not really thinking about, you know

the consequences or thinking about things. So truthfully, I just, you know, I talked to Eddie literally

When you reached out, I just hung up with Eddie. Obviously, Eddie and I were in a heated conversation about everything

and it's my responsibility to kind of make the situation a bit lighter on everybody

Better is a word, lighter, better. I got to bridge the gap

You know, we do have business together. Yeah, yeah. So obviously Eddie was frustrated

He was mad. Obviously, Jess was frustrated. She was mad. And, you know, regarding my tweets, like, I don't know

You know, I got a letter regarding my tweets, you know. My tweets specifically weren't about, we're not about Matcham or Eddie Hearn

but if people follow me and follow me on Twitter and they understand, like

I don't have just Jessica. You know what I mean? I don just deal with Eddie Hearn You manage a plethora of fighters Rick And just I so sorry to cut you off my brother because I hate doing that in terms of my interviewees You got a letter

And that letter, I'm assuming it's a legal letter, is it not? Yes, I did get a legal letter from Match Room

But, I mean, it was, it wasn't as bad as people think

It was just kind of like, yo, man, kind of like explain yourself, like, what the ? And I get it

And I get it. I mean, I'm not new to this. You know, I get it

And, you know, it's not the first letter I got. It's not the last letter I got. I have six lawyers on staff anyway

I'm not worried about, like, a letter. I'm not worried about, you know, I'm not even worried about getting sued for telling the truth

I think the thing that frustrates me is, like, sometimes people don't want to be heard

Sometimes people don't want to listen to you. And sometimes, you know, like I told you, a

Like I said on my live, I went live on my Instagram, and I just said, yo, communication is cute

You know, my guy, Rick? Pick up, right? Yeah. Yeah, for sure, for sure

So I talked to, literally somebody must have watched that because Eddie text me minutes after I hung up on my live and was like, hey, you know, this, that, and the other, I sent you a letter or whatever

And I said, yeah, I just think a phone call is in order. Eddie called me five minutes later

We talked. You know, again, it wasn't, you know, it was a bumpy conversation

him because, you know, I'm yelling. He's yelling. The Alicia situation was, like, the last draw for Jess in the sense

You know, people started calling out Jessica. People were like, you know, if Alicia Baumgart is muscular and she, you know, tested positive

or whatever, then maybe Jessica is in the same situation. So I think that just was, like, the end of it for Jessica

She was obviously frustrated. And, you know, we obviously have a relationship with Alicia, so I don't want to say it wasn't

100% about Alicia. You know, we know Alicia. We think that Alicia's always been a clean fighter, whatever

I mean, obviously I can't prove that to be a fact. But you hope well for your friends and, you know

and you hope everybody's on the straight and narrow. I just think, like, I think from my perspective, like me personally

I think I get frustrated because if that was one of my fighters

or if I had a gym where, like, three or four of my

Let's say three of my fighters popped hot. I would get crucified. I wouldn't even be in business, and I feel like these bigger-named guys, you know, sometimes get a pass, sort of say

And I'm not saying from a promoter from Metro, I'm just saying from the public. Like, I feel like if that was me, I would feel like crucified

I would be like, I would be set the example of. But, you know, like I said, I talked to Eddie

Everything seems to be. okay for the moment. You know, Jessica will make a statement

Jessica will make a statement later. The one thing that I will ask you about

and I have to ask you about you, this, Rick, is because, you know, the insinuation in terms of the fact

that she wasn't going to re-sign with Matrim, and that's why her test came back negative

What's your opinions on that? I don't know. I think, like, my personal opinion about that is

Like, I don't know that to be even real, bro. Just be honest. Like, yeah, and I'm always honest

I'm always real, but I don't know that to be 100% the case. I don't know what Alicia, her contract says or what it is

But I will say, like, you know, I will say that, like, you just got to be careful in the sport

You just got to make sure that, you know, you communicate with everyone and understand, like

what the terms are your deal is and what it is and what your future is

and communicate those concerns to your promoter. I don't know Alicia's deal

I really, really can't comment on it. I know that Jessica said something similar to that

So I have to, I didn't even watch this interview. I got to watch it. I want to believe in Alicia Baumgarner

Everybody wants to believe in Alicia Bombkana. I think it's just something so crazy for the sense of the fact that she's never

Pop-Trick any other fights or anything like this. However, two days before the fight, apparently, what, and this is not me, this is just the information that I had obviously heard, I'd obviously, obviously communicated and everything like this

It it just seems so coincidental in the sense that match room have within 10 days of you know the fights they have two of one of their best stuff just pop I want to get your thoughts on that Rick What do you think I mean again I don I don know I mean I know I don know 100 of facts right so I was told that she passed a drug test a week

before and then two days before and then maybe even a couple days after and then all of a sudden

30 days later was different I don't know like I truthfully can't comment on like I can't

I don't want I don't want to comment on that because I I don't know the detail is 100%

And the other thing is like, I can't, like, comment on another fighter's career

But I can only say that I support. Yeah, I support Alicia 100%

I hope everything, oh, she can clear it. It seems like I talked to Alicia the other day on the phone, and she said that, you know

she's good to go. Like, she can clear everything. So, I mean, I said, man, I hope you do

I hope everything's awesome. And I don't know. It's just, I don't know

you just got like when when you're like about to be a free agent sometimes you get a lot of phone calls from a lot of different promoters and managers and people want you know to give you and offer you things so uh truthfully i i don't know i don't know i i hate to comment

any further about that only because i just don't know her terms of her contract i don't even know if that was real is that if that was part of her situation or not so i don't know you know no absolutely rick and i'm not going to

you know, beat the dead horse, as it were. However, one more question

I want to ask. Jessica McCaskill, she is red-hot, absolute talent right now. You have a gem

sapphire, I believe in the Disney movie they called it the Diamond Ruff

Now, what, in terms of the frustrations, Rick, are you trying, is it because you're trying to get a

fight for her next? And, and Matrum and Eddie haven't been able to get set fight

Or just the last question for myself? No, we are fighting Sandy Ryan September 23rd

I think the frustration was the way that the mandatory went down

the way that the purse bid went down, and the purse bid didn't have anything to do with Matron per se

you know, with the other fighters manager who like did on, who won the purse bid and didn't have the money to pay for it

So, yeah, which is a whole other story. Like, so I don't, I think the frustration, I mean, we essentially lost money in that fight

I mean, the purse bid was public. So we know the second purse, I mean, the second offer on that purse bid was public

So you guys know the money we lost. We lost close to 100,000 on that fight

So we never got that money. We never got a replacement fight

So it kind of, you know, it kind of makes you a little angry and a little bitter because we felt like, man, we should have got at least a tune-up fight in between all this time

Jessica has a fall since December. We're approaching almost a year now

Which is a travestone, Rick. Yeah, I mean, somebody of her talent, especially

Right. Well, and let's put talent and all that stuff aside, like the fact that you're a unified champion

And, you know, we lost two belts in a year because we weren't active, you know

and, you know, the mandatory situation, you know, we vacated a belt to, you know, to try to help a scenario

because we didn't want to fulfill all the mandatory. So there's a lot more stuff behind the scenes that I really can't get into detail about

But, you know, I feel like we went above and beyond to do. our part to make sure that our end of the deal was finished

But, you know, I can't control someone's frustrations with the sport. Like I said, boxing is a love-hate sport

Boxing is amazing when you win, and it's not too amazing when you don't do anything

and it's definitely not fun when you lose. So it's up and down

And I do think, though, after all this shit, after all this shit that happened today and yesterday

like, there's really, you know, you know, all this publicity as being out there, I mean, at this point, it's kind of like, you know

you have to view, you have to vent what you think and what you see and how you feel because

if you don't speak up, then, you know, it goes unnoticed. And when you go unnoticed

a lot of bad things could happen. So Jessica will make a statement later and she'll say

how exactly how she feels and that it you know In regards to the legal letter in regards to the relationship with matrim in regards with the heated phone call with Eddie Hahn is there salt in the relationship with you and your promotional the promotional outfit for Jessica McCasper

No, I think there used to be. Like, I think, like, I feel like I would take it more personal, like, in the past

But I feel like at this point, like, truthfully, I don't even take anything personal anymore

I'll take anyone's phone call. Like, I'll do the interviews because, like, boxing

there's a little bit of a game to this sport and to how you play yourself and how you handle publicity

So, I mean, is it, there's no salt really from me. I'm sure Eddie gets aggravated, you know

from hearing some of the comments that were made. But, you know, I don't really care

Like, for me, it's not as personal as it used to be. I think before, fan of the sport and when you look up to people and then you realize they weren't 100

what you thought in your mind that maybe I just need to really evaluate my thoughts or maybe

I need to reevaluate who I look up to. So there's no there's no hard feelings from my side

I'm sure Eddie there's no hard feelings from his sides towards me. I mean I know he thinks

I'm crazy but I mean if I was crazy I wouldn't have an undisputed fighter or a unified fighter

a multi-fight deal or those things. You see what I'm trying to say

So, like, I'm not completely, I'm not completely that crazy. I will say that I say the same things that everybody else wants to say

You know, I just, those other people don't say it and shame on those people

Sometimes it's like, as a little kid, you know, and you have an older brother, and I had an older brother

You know, sometimes to get their attention, you got to just pull on their pant leg, you know, and, you know, finally get their attention

And if that doesn't work, sometimes you got to push them. So it's like there's a little bit of gamesmanship to how I do business to

You know, this isn't just a one-way street, you know. So, you know, I understand the game very well

And I understand what I say. And I definitely understand legal letters

And I understand how far I can push it for sure. And, you know, I understand all

that and I just, you know, shout out to Matchroom. Shout out to Eddie Hearn

I know we aggravated them or whatever, but, you know, when I see things like we gave

you a lot of opportunities, we didn't, we didn't, we weren't given any opportunities

We earned a lot of our opportunities. And I want to make that very clear

I mean, I'm grateful for everything Matchroom has done and continue to do

But I like to be more one-on-one with Eddie on the phone

You know, and I think our relationship was phenomenal when it was one-on-one on the phone

And when you put, like, people in the middle, it's kind of like never the same

So, yeah, I have no heart feeling start that you or match. You know, to be honest with you, to be fair, like, they've treated us the best out of all the organ, or out of all the..

Yeah, for sure, without a doubt. So, like, it's just like, you know, it's just like anything

Like, in a marriage, you know, sometimes you argue with your wife or your girlfriend or whatever

I have a yesterday. You know what I'm saying? So it's just like

yo, at the end of the day, you know, they're at the bottom of it

at the foundation of the relationship. You know there's love. It's just, some days you just want to kill your partner

And some days, you know, and some days you don't. But you know what I'm saying

Listen, if it was really, if Eddie was really upset, I mean, not really upset

If Eddie really hated us, we would have been gone by now. But again

like I said, the relationships get bumpy. It's a very, emotional sport, very aggressive sport

So these things happen constantly, and these things happen all the time

It's just, you know, if someone s up or says too much, you just got to back up

clean it up, and just kind of reset. So that's where we're at
