The Difference Between Coherence And Cohesion In Writing
Feb 15, 2022
In this video, we'll be looking at the difference between coherence and cohesion.
We’ll be focusing on the four major points.
1. We’ll start with definitions of coherence and cohesion.
2. We will see how a text can be cohesive but not coherent.
3. Finally, we will give examples of how a text can achieve cohesion.
Broadly speaking, coherence and cohesion refer to the way a text is organized so that it can hold together. In a coherent text, ideas flow meaningfully and logically by using grammatical and lexical cohesive devices.
