Dua Lipa is suing Samsung for $15 million over the alleged unauthorized use of her image in the South Korean company’s TV marketing. The lawsuit claims Samsung used Lipa’s face to promote televisions without permission, payment, or involvement from the British singer. According to the complaint, Samsung allegedly put Lipa’s image on TV boxes and promotional materials worldwide beginning in early 2025. Lipa reportedly owns the copyright to the photo, which was taken backstage during the 2024 Austin City Limits Festival. After discovering the campaign, Lipa asked Samsung to stop using the image, but the lawsuit claims that the company was “dismissive and callous” and refused. According to the suit, Lipa became aware of the campaign in June 2025 after fans started discussing the so-called “Dua Lipa TV Box” on social media. The filing accuses Samsung of copyright infringement, false endorsement, and publicity rights violations. The singer is seeking damages and any profits tied to the marketing campaign.
